Reviews of Toshiba 15LV506 from Amazon.com

Finally, a small white kitchen tv that really works

We tried 3 or 4 other small white kitchen tv's over the past 12 months and they were all unacceptable. While the Toshiba is not without it's flaws, it is heads above the others that we tried at home. There are several annoying features however. It takes forever to change channels and has a moderately slow start up. The picture quality is good however, even when viewed from the side and the sound is a real bonus. It's also nice to have the DVD player when our 3 year old niece visits which is fairly often. The price is good and we would purchase this product again and recommend it (even though my wife taped over a bright red light that serves no purpose whatsoever on the front of the tv when it is NOT in use).

Cute for kitchen, but...

I needed an updated white TV for the dinette area which had to be small enough to go under the cabinets. This one was the right size and the right price. It has a decent picture; sound is quite adequate, lightweight and moveable, and very nice looking. The only drawback, which is an irritation, but one I can live with (my son complains incessantly, though) is the time it takes to turn on, and the delay as you change channels. It seems worse than any TV we've ever had. However, its the price was right, and shoot, it plays DVD's too, without having to hook a dvd player to it. If you have patience with it's delays, it's a good buy in my book.

Great small HDTV

We purchased this TV for our kitchen counter since it would fit easily under the cabinets. It is very attractive (we selected the white case), and the picture is excellent! We probably will never use the embedded DVD player, but it's nice to know it's there. We highly recommend this unit for tight spaces.

White TV

I looked everywhere for a small white TV for my kitchen. I finally found this one. The picture and sound quality are very good.

Toshiba 15" HDTV w/DVD - White

I chose this TV because of 3 reasons...1) TOSHIBA name 2) size (bedroom TV) 3) color. Let me first say the style is fantastic...very modern and looks great in my bedroom. The picture is not as good as my large TOSHIBA but I don't have it hooked up to an HD receiver. That said the picture is fine; especially when the channel you're viewing has the Digtal option. Sound is just OK since the speaker runs horizontally on the bottom of the TV but that's where most flat screens have the speakers located. The DVD player is phenomenal and super simple, load and hit play! It uses the same remote as the TV which is very convenient. There is only one very annoying thing about this TV and that is the huge LED light that is front and center on the face of the TV. It GLOWS royal blue when on and GLOWS bright red when TV is off which is when I am sleeping. I have covered it with silver acrylic paint to match the silver speaker cover and that worked quite well and doesn't look bad at all. Toshiba needs to rethink this idea and either remove it completely or place it somewhere less conspicuous. I am not even sure of its purpose. When the TV is on you know it is on because there's a picture on the screen and when it is off there is no longer a picture...DUH! I don't think a large, irridescent light is necessary to depict the on/off status of the TV. All in all a wonderful TV and I am very pleased. The price was great and finding a WHITE, small TV is challenging in and of itself and then to find one with the built-in DVD was a huge bonus! This set fits all my needs and I'm glad I purchased it.
(September 12, 2009)

AWESOME!

I love this TV! The picture is amazing, and has great sound. The DVD works very well. There is a couple seconds delay when changing the channel which the manual mentions. Otherwise this TV is perfect. Also the shipping was amazingly fast. Ordered it on a Teusday, chose standard shipping, and still received it 2 days later on Thursday.
(October 27, 2009)

Serves the purpose it was purchased for nicely.

I purchase this tv for my kitchen and it serves the purpose nicely. It fits well into a corner and doesn't take up much room. The dvd player is a nice added feature, and I would recomend it.

WARNING

Warning: Take the fact that you cannot return this product seriously. There are few choices on the market for small tvs suitable for a kitchen so I thought this looked like a good buy under the circumstances. But when it arrived, it would not accept a DVD - simply spit it out after it was put in. Amazon won't take it back and Toshiba will only repair it - BUT you have to pay the shipping to their repair facility. I live under 100 miles from their repair facility, but it still cost $19.05 to ship it. Yes, Toshiba did repair it and yes, as they promised it was a short turnaround - I got it back in 8 days. Works fine now. Of course, I just got it back and I don't know how it will last over time. But buy this only if you're willing to pay the extra money.

Good 15" DTV Flat Screen For Your Kitchen or Bath

I have been hunting for months for a good quality white digital flat screen TV for my kitchen window ledge. This is the only "choice" out there......if you are looking for a 15", this is it! Seems impossible, but it is true. This is the only 15" available from a manufacturer that you have actually heard of.

Not only is it the only one available, but it only comes with a DVD player, so don't bother looking for a TV without the DVD. You do get a choice of color: black or white, so don't gripe!

Another thing you need to know, is that TV manufacturers no longer bother to include an antenna with their sets, so if you are like me and are actually planning to use THE AIRWAVES to receive programming, you have to purchase a digital antenna in order to receive anything resembling a broadcast. This is not a choice, this is a necessity. If you do not subscribe to cable or direct TV or satellite or whatever, YOU NEED TO BUY A DIGITAL ANTENNA! Again, its not a matter of better reception, its the only way you are going to get reception.

With that in mind, I purchased the RCA ANT1500 Large Multi-Directional Digital Flat Passive Antenna (White) which promised to bring in a maximum number of analog and digital chanels and look unobtrusive in the process.

The TV and antenna both arrived today and I was able to get them hooked up and running in less than a half an hour and that included removing them from their boxes and reading the instruction booklets, programming the set, neatening up wires, etc.

The TV is attractive and surprisingly, almost alarmingly light weight. It is a cinch to pick up and move around. This is not the set of yesteryear, when you needed to be a weightlifter inorder to pick up a "portable" tv. This set is light, like a big Kindle on a stand.

I live in New York City and without the antenna hooked up to the TV I was able to get no programming whatsoever. Zilch. No picture, no sound, nothing.

The antenna is a flat white slab that the TV is able to sit on top of. You can also stand the antenna upright or hang it on a wall. The antenna comes with a cable (how thoughtful!) that is easily attached to the TV. It requires no electricity. All connections are clearly marked.

Once attached together and the "Automatic Programming" set up, I was able to get 3 analog and 47 digital chanels! While many of the 47 digital chanels are in foreign (not English)languages, all the New York local network stations came in bright and clear and ultrasharp.

The sound is maybe not as loud as I would have liked but it certainly is loud enough for most circumstances. You will never turn this baby up to 11!

Some reviewers complain about the TV taking an extreme length of time to turn on and then to switch stations. This is true. The tuner is very pokey. I know that digital receivers take longer than analog ones but this seems to be slower than most. We are talking about seconds here, but it does seem slow.

Other reviewers complain about the large "bright light" on the front of the set that glows blue when the set is on and orange when off. Yes, there is a light and I really don't see the big deal, its not a kleig light or a torch. Also, if you are among the ones who find it irritating, you can go in to "Set Up" and turn it off. I admit it does seem a bit gratuitous. Why provide a "decorative" on/off light when you could have supplied something far more useful.....like an antenna?

I am delighted with the set. The price was right, the size is perfect, the picture very good. And, if I ever want to watch a DVD while I am cooking, I know I can!

Great Appliance For Home Workspace

One of my hobbies is creating computer video greeting cards and family videos on DVD.I use this lttle gem of a flat screen TV to check the finished discs. It was no problem to set up, "plug and play" as it were. It fits neatly into my shelf unit and has a great picture. Even the sound is good. Highly recommended for spaces where a larger unit would not work. I also have it connected to our satellite receiver on those rare occasions where anything is worth watching.
(December 03, 2009)

Great Little Flat Screen

One of the few white-color frame TV's around.
The HD picture quality is very good, the non-HD is good, although somewhat washed out.
A lot of quality for the price--and it includes a DVD player as well.
Easy to set up, easy to navigate around on screen.
(December 11, 2009)

Good TV, but not loud enough

The TV works fine, though as others have mentioned, the channel changing is very slow. I bought it because it is small and white, which works in my kitchen. The only problem I have with it is that on a few channels, the sound is not loud enough to be heard easily over normal kitchen noise. Even with the volume cranked all the way up, it's just not very loud. As for features, I wish they had included a CableCard slot. The only HD cable decoder box my cable company (Comcast) offers is physically just about as large as this TV, which kind of defeats the purpose of buying a small TV. And the monthly rental fee for the HD decoder box is much higher than the rental fee for a CableCard.
(December 12, 2009)

Great picture quality

We bought this TV for our kitchen to replace a undercabinet TV that no longer received channels due to the switch over to digital. We bought an antenna and after calling the tech dept to get it programmed it works perfectly and the picture quality is better than our Sony expensive wide screen. It looks good and is compact.
(December 15, 2009)

Kitchen Perfect

Very happy with the TV; works perfectly in the kitchen. HD channels are especially sharp. It is very difficult to find a white LCD TV. The only drawback to this Toshiba is you pay extra for the DVD capabiity which we didn't need or want. And channel switching is a bit slow. But picture quality and sound are very good.
(December 26, 2009)

PERFECT LITTLE TV

I have searched for a year for a small TV for my kitchen counter. I purchased a Panasonic last year from Best Buy and had to return it because of poor sound. Have looked periodically at Best Buy, Walmart and various discount stores and selection for under 19" was always poor. This TV is PERFECT, love the white color, picture is wonderful and sharp, sound is excellent. I love turning it on while I'm making dinner. Definitely would purchase it again and recommend it highly.
(December 28, 2009)

Exceeds Expectations!

Finding a small white Digital TV is a challenge. So,I was quite pleased to find this 15 inch HD TV with the DVD. This TV is in a master bathroom and I wanted something sleek and minimalist. I didn't want the clutter of separate components on my counter, so I was very pleased that the DVD player was included. The sound is perfect. I had read other reviews where this was an issue. I have not found any issues. I do not have this tv connected to cable - just connected to a flat RCA antenna and the picture quality is just beautiful. I am very pleased with the product and don't have a negative thing to state. I only gave the features line four stars, becuase I haven't really investigaged what is available so I can't tell you if there is anything limiting.
(December 29, 2009)

Couldn't be happier

I wanted a TV for my white kitchen that fit in well and wasn't too large. It fit so perfectly. On top of that, I got HD resolution and a DVD player! The one thing that I didn't anticipate was that I would need a cable wire or an antenna to make it work (I turned it on and got snow!!!) The cable hookup by our local company was $28... a
small price to pay. The size of the screen is perfect as well and I can easily turn it for times when I am cooking or eating at the table. I couldn't be happier. Oh.....and Amazon sent it in record time with free shipping.
(December 29, 2009)

great for a small kitchen TV

We have cable but think a hi def box would probably give us a 5 star picture quality rather than 4. We haven't attempted the DVD player feature yet but everything else is very good. Looked for months for a small white TV to fit a small counter space by our little kitchen table and this is the only TV we found that fit perfectly and the white colour is lovely. We're knocked out with the quality of the picture for old black and white movies. We expect that with practice we'll figure out which picture preference to use and our only missing star is having to go into the settings to adjust the picture preference for different stations but I guess that's normal on all the new LCD/Plasma TVs.
(December 30, 2009)

Well done Tosh.

Fulfilled or exceeded our best expectations. There seemed to be no other options for this size or quality of tvs, anway.

Great Little TV!

I had been shopping for a year or more for a small TV to replace the one in my kitchen. All of my appliances are white so, of course, I wanted a white TV to match. This one fit the bill perfectly! I cannot find one negative thing about it. Truly, I wish I had ordered it much sooner. If you are hesitating, go for it! You will not be disappointed.
(January 06, 2010)

Functional but disappointing

We needed a 15" flat screen in a white cabinet for out kitchen, and this Toshiba is pretty much the only game in town. It works, and you can't argue with the price, but the picture quality is very disappointing. Not sure why they included a DVD player as I don't know why you'd want to watch a movie on a screen this size. I wish they would have spent the $$$ on better electronics instead.

We are keeping ours, but only because we have no other alternatives. I sure wish Sony or Samsung made a unit this size.
(January 07, 2010)

So far so good

We just got this today and we're quite happy so far. Easy to set up and use. Picture is nice and clear with the volume range perfect. My only complaint which has nothing to do with the tv, is that this was shipped in the tv's box only. I was surprised that nothing was broken as the taping on the box was cut through and there was a good sized tear out of the box. But, all seems to be fine so far. I am keeping the packaging just in case.

GREAT T.V. WOULD BE GREATER WITH AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNT

THIS IS A GREAT KITCHEN COUNTER TELEVISION.
UNFORTUNATELY THE TELEVISION DOES NOT HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNT (WHICH WOULD ALLOW TILTING THE UNIT UP OR DOWN).
MY TELEVISION POINTS DOWNWARD WHEN PLACED ON OUR KITCHEN COUNTER.
I PUT THOSE SMALL PADS THAT ARE MADE FOR THE BOTTOM OF WOOD CHAIR LEGS UNDER THE FRONT OF THE TELEVISION TO TILT IT UPWARD FOR BETTER VIEWING.
TOSHIBA WOULD HAVE A BETTER PRODUCT IF THEY WOULD PUT AN ADJUSTABLE MOUNT(WHICH WOULD ALLOW YOU TO TILT THE UNIT UP OR DOWN WHEN PLACED ON A COUNTER TOP)ON THIS TELEVISION. OTHER THAN THAT, THIS IS THE BEST KITCHEN COUNTER TELEVISION I COULD FIND ON THE MARKET.
PS: THE DVD PLAYER WORKS GREAT AND IS A NICE EXTRA.
HOPE THIS HELPS.

Can you say VESA?

I love this TV and purchased a mount, to mount it under the counter in the kitchen, only to discover upon opening the box that there are no mounting holes for this TV, when every other mfg puts them in why is this not in the description - I'll triple check that on my next order - anyone need a mount?

Love my new Toshiba TV/DVD!

Received my new Toshiba TV/DVD in two days, as promised by Amazon. The set-up was a breeze and the TV automatically loaded the available channels as soon as I plugged it in!
The white color looks great in my kitchen and the size is perfect to sit on the corner of the counter where I can aim it toward the cooking area or swivel it slightly to be viewed in the eating area. The picture is sharp and the color is great. The viewing angle on the sides is good and does not fade out as soon as I step off-center as a previous TV I had did. The sound is good, although I sometimes have to increase the volume for some channels (which is their problem and not the fault of the TV set). I have not tried the DVD as yet, however.

With regard to some of the complaints in other reviews of this TV: The red "off" light/blue "on" light is not the problem some people seem to indicate. The light is about 1/4 inch wide by 1 inch long, is below the screen and I find it hardly noticable. I look at the screen, not the light. All my TVs have an indicator light of varying size. Also, some people have commented on the length of time it takes for the TV to come on or to change screens. There is a delay, but that seems to be a part of this type of TV. I have four flat screen TVs and they all take several seconds to come on and there is a few-second delay when changing channels.

All in all, I am very satisfied with my new Toshiba TV/DVD and would not hesitate to recommend it highly!

Wonderful Ordering experience

This was an excellent ordering experience. The TV is working very well in the kitchen, and fits perfect with the existing decor. It's DVD player functions very well, and it is a neat additional feature. Overall and surprisingly, I am very satisfied with my purchase and the expediting process. My needs were met in a two day delivery time and everything was in order and in good condition. Kudos to Amazon.

Great little TV for exercise DVDs

Works great for exercise DVDs. I originally bought it for the sewing room, but I haven't gotten around to getting it set up there, because it is perfect for exrcising (2 different locations in the house). As others have reported, the response time to change channels or anything else is a little slow, but not intolerable. Overall, love it!
(February 20, 2010)

No wall mount

I have not purchased this TV however, while trying to find more information than is offered on this site, I discovered that this TV cannot be wall mounted. This info came from a Toshiba phone agent. This was a big surprise because there are a number of wall mounts advertised by Amazon for sale on the same page as the TV. In addition, there is no copy info explaining the lack of wall mount capabilities. The last thing anyone wants to do is go to the trouble to return merchandise. Do not buy if you want to wall mount this little, great looking TV.
(February 24, 2010)

Very nice TV/DVD combo

We bought the 15V506 for use in the kitchen and it is just about perfect for that application. Its compact size and good picture quality are just right.
The only inconvenience is the headphone jack inexplicably located on the back of the cabinet. We use Creative cordless headphones. When we want to plug in the headphones, one has to move the TV to see the headphone jack. That is the prime reason I down-rated the Toshiba to four stars.
Otherwise, this is a fine little TV/DVD combination for any small room where space is limited: dorm, child's room, kitchen, study or shop.
Toshiba is the only top-tier manufacturer that makes a high quality, small TV like this. Others are available, but tend to be of poorer quality.
I would recommend the Toshiba 15V506 to anyone, at the same them letting them know about the inconvenient headphone jack. The unit is also available in black.
(March 08, 2010)

Toshiba 15 inch white tv

I bought this tv to mount under my kitchen cabinet, because the amazon site said it was frequently sold with an under cabinet mount. The tv does not have mounting capability, and must be used with a stand... not an option in my little kitchen.

Toshiba 15.6" Digital T.V.

I purchased this T.V. for my wife as a Xmas gift to replace her small portable non-digital T.V. I read all the reviews from other people and decided it would make a decent portable digital T.V. We use it with only a single telescoping antenna that attaches directly to the back connector and the picture looks great. The sound is also very acceptable and we can carry this light little T.V. around to any room in the house. The T.V. is also nice looking in my opinion and doesn't take up a lot of space.
If I had to complain about anything there would be two items. This T.V. doesn't have a tilt base like all computer LCD screens come with. It is in a fixed position which can be to low if the T.V. is set on a low surface. Also when using the numeric key pad to change channels I find that it switches to the analog (non-digital) channel then I must use the channel "up" button to go to the digital channel. It takes a bit of time to power on and change channels but what's the big hurry anyway.
The DVD player also works very acceptably and will also play music CD's.
For the quality, brand name, and features of this T.V., I think the price was very reasonable.
(March 19, 2010)

nice small TV

if you need a "little" tv for ANY reason get this one...it even has a DVD player...it has enough features and sounds pretty good to make it worthwhile... ALSO..the price has dropped...don't wait!!!
(March 27, 2010)

Great little TV

Love the size and color. The only draw back is the delay in channel changing. Sort of aggrevating but it's
the only game in town if you want a small white set.

Bought it for my elderly mother...she loves it.
(March 27, 2010)

What I wanted for my kitchen

This TV is perfect for my kitchen. The picture is good. I probably won't use the DVD player much, but still a nice feature.
(March 29, 2010)

Don't buy this unit if you want to wall mount it

We bought this nice little television with the intention of wall mounting it. Amazons page for this unit also offers a "Frequently Bought Together" promo package which includes a flat antenna and a wall mount bracket. But after inspecting the TV we could find no mounting threads for a bracket. We emailed Toshiba and in a very short time received a reply, the 15LV506 can not be wall mounted. Buyer beware.
(April 11, 2010)

The Great White Hope

We've had this TV for about six weeks and love it. We wanted a white one to match our kitchen decor, so it fit perfectly. Only one thing is a minor inconvenience. We have DirecTV and tried all the remove control codes without finding one that will turn on and off both the DirecTV receiver and the TV. We found a code that will control the DirecTV remote as it should, but it will not power the TV on and off. If anyone else has had this problem and solved it, we would appreciate your solution as we have to keep the Toshiba remote handy just to power the TV on and off.

It does take about eight seconds for the TV to come on after the power button is pushed, but that doesn't really bother us.

For those who complained about the bright on/off light, there is a feature in the menu where you can turn that off. Just read your manual or play with the menu until you find it.

A great little TV for the money.
(April 15, 2010)

Price dropped 2 days after I purchased it!

This is a better than average TV in this rather scarce size class (I didn't buy it for the DVD player). However, viewing angles from above & below the level line of site are really bad (maybe limited to +47 degrees & -47 degrees). Horizontal viewing angles on my set were very good (perhaps 80 degrees left and 80 degrees right). So mine is not really usable at upper book shelf or top of refrigerator elevations, if viewers are in a seated position. Picture color and sharpness are both very good, contrast in low-light scenes leaves something to be desired, and sound is excellent for given speaker size. I would probably buy it again, but not for the same planned usage that I had for this one. As usual, Amazon.com shipping was prompt and without any damage.
(May 01, 2010)

Best TV Ever

I received this tv as a christmas present in december, and I absolutely love it. The size is perfect and it is great that it comes in white which is perfect for kitchen use if you have white appliances. We use this tv all of the time whether we bring it outside to watch a game on a sunny day, or having it in the kitchen for background noise. The price is right and the tv is great!
(May 04, 2010)

CAN'T BE WALL MOUNTED

Nice small television for the kitchen. BUT IT CAN'T BE WALL MOUNTED. Do not believe it can even though the Amazon site suggests so. I didn't realize this since Amazon shows a bracket and one assumes it's for this particular television. It's not since this Toshiba doesn't have the appropriate guide holes on the back. If you want to wall mount a tv, get the Toshiba 19 inch which has the appropriate holes.
(May 09, 2010)

Lots for the money

The other reviews of this TV pretty much covered its strengths and few weaknesses, the unusually slow tuner function being the only somewhat negative point. My reason for adding any comments is to mention another 15 inch LCD TV that does not fare so well. I replaced a year-old Dynex DX-L15 with the Toshiba. The Dynex set had at least 6 non-functioning pixels (LCD's) that became especially irritating over time. Stay away from that product. It may have had a lower initial cost, but that was its only positive point. This is my third Toshiba HD (or HD ready) TV and I have not yet been disappointed by any of them. The 15 inch produces vivid color and crisp detail. The remote is a bit awkward, as other Toshiba remotes tend to be, but once you get the hang of it, no better nor worse than any other. This is a well-designed and appealing small set, suitable for close-up viewing and with a lot of flexibility and features for the price. I suppose they could have included an HDMI input, but the thinking was probably with a built-in DVD player (which operates smoothly and produces an excellent picture), why would it be necessary? Overall, the best small-screen TV on the market, in my opinion.

Shar

Bought this tv for my 4 year old daughter for her birthday. She has white furniture in her room so the tv goes with her decor. It has a great picture and sound. She can use it so that should give you an idea of how easy it is to function. There are different settings for the picture and sound. Love the TV. Great purchase and also fast shipping. I ordered Wed. night and had it Friday morning with the free shipping.

EXCELLENT TOSHIBA FOR KITCHEN

THIS TV IS PERFECT FOR KITCHEN, ITS SIZE FITS EXACTLY AT MY KITCHEN AND ITS RESOLUTION IS VERY GOOD.I DO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ANTENA BECAUSE I HAVE CABLE AND ANOTHER ADVANTAGE OVER OTHERS IS THAT THIS TV HAS DVD, AND I USE MANY TIMES WITH MY LITTLE BOY.

THE BEST OF ALL IS ITS PRICE, IT OFFERS TO ME A VERY ATRACTIVE YIELD OVER OTHERS.

Toshiba 15 Inch

Over all I am very pleased with the Toshiba the only draw back is that is TV can not be mounted with any bracket, I wanted to mount the TV under the kitchen counter ,I was told it could be mounted, but the truth is it can not be mounted>

Excellent Small TV/DVD but NOT wall mountable

I bought this TV for our small travel trailer. It is perfect for that purpose except this TV has no provision for wall mounting. There are no standard-pattern threaded holes in the back like most flat-panel TVs, so don't waste your money buying one of the wall or swing-down mounts shown under "Customers who bought this also bought...". (I did fabricate a custom bracket to mount it to the wall of our RV. The fact that it weighs less than 8 lbs. helped a lot.) Things I liked most about this set are the crisp, bright picture, wide viewing angle and decent sound for a small set. The built-in DVD is easy to use and works well. The remote control is well laid out and simple to use. A couple of other notes: This set is described as "white", but the color is off-white, tending toward ivory if that is important to you. It also comes in black. This model has been discontinued (both the black and white versions), so don't pay a big price for it. There aren't many other choices out there in 15" TV/DVD combos (there are several 19" models). If you really need one this small you might want to get it while it is still available.

Toshiba 15LV506 15.6-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with Built in DVD, White

I really love my new tv. It is the perfect size and color for my kitchen. I would like to have had it mounted, but I read in the reviews beforehand that it was unable to be mounted on the wall or under the counter. That was disappointing but it takes nothing away from it's performance. It doesn't take up a lot of counter space and it fits my needs perfectly.

Good picture - difficult to set up

Toshiba 15LV506 15.6-Inch Widescreen LCD TV with Built in DVD, White

This TV was very difficult to set up. When you did the "channel setup" it picked up the "analog" and then the "digital" channels. This required entering - "2-001" to receive channel 2 in HD (with no "HD" box). The picture quality is excellent now that I've figured the whole thing out.
(July 13, 2010)

Great TV for the price.

Takes a long time to change from one channel to the next but for the price and quality I can live with it. Fit's great in our camper, the perfect size.

Nice little tv for the price. Cannot be wall mounted. Fits nicely under cabinets. Takes a while to turn on. DVD player works great. Picture and sound is very good.

Great Little TV.

After reading every review here, I ordered this white tv for my kitchen. I like everything about the tv but the sound quality. As mentioned by others-there are times when the sound is almost nonexistent unless you are in hearing distance. Other times, it's fne. Set up was so easy. Take it out of the box, hook it to my cable and I'm in business. There is a warm-up delay of about 10 seconds or so. Usually get my morning beverage while it's waking up :). Love the widescreen and the clarity of the picture. I also like that you get to choose the picture view you want.

Oddly, the DVD sound is quite loud compared to the tv side. It also does a good job. It's a nice addition. So, my only complaint is the sound. If you are looking for a small addition for any room in the house--this is it. Enjoy!

small white kitchen TV

I purchased this small portable, White tv for my kitchen to replace an under the counter tv/cd/dvd unit (I can't figure out if this new unit is wall mountable). Anyway, it looks great on the counter. Set-up was easy and straight forward. Since my area broadcasts in digital I had to have my cable company come out and install a new cable outlet so I could connect this digital-ready tv, that was less than $30 (I have already wasted too much money & time fooling around with converter boxes). I only watch local tv news in the kitchen while getting ready for work and then again while cooking dinner, so I haven't used the tv's features, but I was surprised when I received the HD channel. The tv sound and picture have been great for what I use it for. After looking for a long while to replace my old unit, I was happy to find this item priced where it was, because many others were higher priced. My use for it is limited, so I didn't want an expensive & complicated unit. DVD, was also a nice add on in this price range!!

Great kitchen TV!

This television is wonderful! I bought it for my mom's kitchen and she loves everything about it--the size, the color, the picture quality, and the fact that it has a dvd player in it. It was a great price too!
