Reviews of Samsung LN46B550 from Amazon.com
Doesn't Get Much Better Than This
I got in our first widescreen TV last week. (My old TV had one connection in the back and was about 15 years old.) Although I had a few worries about ordering such a large and expensive item from Amazon, those worries proved groundless.
Before ordering, I had done all sorts of research in Consumer Reports and at on-line reviews before arriving at this Samsung model for the way to go in HDTV sets, and I was able to order the exact model at a great price at Amazon.
I also had been worried about the delivery of such an item after reading mixed reviews. The delivery was superb. We needed to actually check the TV for damage on the spot, hook it up, and make sure it played. The young woman who delivered it was very professional and helpful.
At 68 years of age, I am the "tech person" in our home, but I found the actual plug and play feature a cinch. Adding my DVD player to the TV and U-Verse box was more challenging, but with some help from U-Verse and trial and error on my own, I was able to get my TV running well. Even though we am not paying for the HDTV service, we find the picture crisp and clear, and the closed captioning is a plus for us senior citizens. The swivel feature of the stand makes TV viewing effortless for the open plan of our living and dining areas. My next project is to learn how to program the remote so that I don't have to keep up with three of them.
There is nothing not to love about this TV. I'll have to let you know if I last longer than it does!

Outstanding Picture Quality
We needed to replace an old Sony 27" standard definition set and after doing my homework I decided to buy the Samsung LN46B550. When hooked up to an HD cable box, this set delivers an extremely high quality, noise-free, sharp, detailed picture. But its best picture feature is the amazing color quality - the best I've ever seen. Colors and flesh tones are very accurate with good detail in shadow scenes when properly adjusted to realistic saturation levels. I found the picture quality very easy to tune to near-perfection using the numerous built-in picture adjustments. In fact a videophile friend later brought over his video calibration DVD and was amazed to find the set delivering extremely accurate colors and contrast levels with no further adjustment necessary. My wife, who never paid much attention to picture quality, has suddenly become a videophile - she loves watching movies on this set. Next step is to buy a Blu-Ray player to fully exploit the set's capabilities.
I can't comment much on the audio quality because I am hard of hearing. The speakers are certainly more than adequate for my needs, and for watching movies we have the set connected to a home theatre system. I also appreciate the low gloss, matte screen on the B550. In daytime our viewing room can be rather bright but with this set there are no annoying reflections.

The Perfect Value HDTV
Price: I couldn't find a better value on the market, not after Amazon through in a free Sharp Aquos HP BD22U Blu Ray Player, not to mention the free shipping and zero sales tax! This is the Consumer Reports best value in its class, and that in itself should tell you that you're getting a great product for a great price. Try and find another 46" LCD that gets you 4 HDMI ports, 70,000:1 contrast ratio, 6ms response time, and good reliable brand name attached to it. You simply can't beat this product for the cost.
Overall Look: Simply beautiful. The piano black trim all the way around is accented nicely (but very subtle, mind you) by the "Touch of Color" feature that is advertised. It is not nearly as bright as it looks in the picture Amazon shows, however in the right lighting you will appreciate it. From 8-10 feet away, all you see on the sleek TV is the Samsung logo dead center on the bottom of the frame, but if you look closely on the bottom right you will notice some small words. Take a closer look, and you'll see that they are actually the power button, alongside the volume and channel buttons. However, they are more analogous with touchscreen technology than "buttons." If you had your eyes closed and slid your fingers over that section of the frame of the TV, you would not know there was anything there. Yet they are very sensitive, and adds a lot to the overall look of the TV by being so discrete and unobtrusive. The stand is sturdy and a sleek black color, very simple to put together (4 screws).
Screen: Just perfect. Now I'm not a videophile, but this LCD looks pristine to me. This is my first encounter with an LCD, so I am just blown away. I've drooled over many of them in the stores, but this is the first I've ever owned. I'm coming from a 32" old school TV that weighed like 150lbs. This light, thin, beautiful TV is exactly what I've always wanted, and I couldn't recommend it any more than I am now. There are TONS of picture tweaking options in the Menu, but the TV comes out of the box perfect. I understand that when you buy them from stores like BestBuy, you have to do a lot of tweaking. Since this is straight from the warehouse, the thing looks great straight from the box. It has movie mode, standard mode, and some sort of brighter mode, all of which can be customized. You can adjust the warmth of the colors, the sharpness, the hue, the saturation of the greens/reds, the blackness of the blacks and MUCH, much more. It's a bit overwhelming for someone like myself who isn't a tech freak. Full 1080p with my Sharp Blu-Ray player was just flat out mind-melting. Gorgeous TV. Oh, and the 60HZ has not yet bothered me. I haven't seen a 120HZ side-by-side with the 60HZ yet, but I highly doubt that it is worth the $500 upgrade.
Other: Simple remote control, comes with a little cloth to wipe down your new toy when it gets dusty. Pretty thick instruction manual that I haven't made my way through yet. The box it comes in is HUGE, but it's cool because the top just lifts off, making the TV very easy to remove and set wherever you want it. I can't remember if this is shown on the Amazon synopsis of the product, but the inputs on the side of the TV are on the right side if you're looking at the screen straight on. All my stuff is on the left, so my short cords can't quite reach those. Just a little note to help people plan ahead. No banding that I've seen, no ghost images, no dead pixels, etc. Perfect.
Shipping Service (CEVA Experience): I'd read so many horrible things about this shipping company that I braced myself for the worst. They called me a day after the TV shipped (which was a Friday), and said "your tv will be delivered Wednesday [whatever date] between 3pm and 7pm." They didn't ask, they informed me. I didn't like that much. However, they delivered it on time (around 6:40pm that day), and I received the "White Glove" package that Amazon sets you up with, meaning that two guys came in, took my TV downstairs, opened the box, put the stand and TV together, mounted it where I wanted it, had me plug it in, and made sure it worked before they left. They didn't take my trash (which is part of the "white glove" package), but I wanted it anyways, so it wasn't a big deal. Nice guys, didn't wait around for a tip (I wasn't planning on giving one), and had me simply fill out a paper indicating that they did their job. Overall a good experience!
Quickness: I ordered the TV on a Wednesday, and received it the next Wednesday.
The Bad: The only bad thing I've had happen so far was that when I initially plugged in the TV to my satellite box, the colors were all messed up and the picture was grainy. The blues were green, the pinks were orange, the people's faces were red, etc. However I found out that this was simply because my component cables were bad. Once I plugged in my 3 cent (plus shipping) HDMI cord, all my problems were gone, and the picture was perfect as described above.
Don't hesitate to purchase this TV. You won't regret it. I am now a Samsung fan.

Awesome !!!!!
I ordered this a few weeks back to replace my 32" flat screen Sony. I must say that I am awe stuck. Its a wonderful product for the price that you pay. The picture quality is amazing for HD streams. I was in a dilemma to buy LN46B750 but I don't regret a bit buying this one as one can never tell the difference between the picture quality as there is none !!!! Amazon delivered the TV in a week and set up is not difficult at all. I would say go for it......

Samsung LN46B550 LCD TV
This TV is amazing. This is the TV to buy for many reasons.
I bought this TV because whenever I go to a store that sells TVs, the Samsungs always have the best picture quality.
This particular model is not only a dream TV, but is also the best value for any TV:
The 52 inch model of this TV is way more expensive than the 46. Not worth it unless you really want a really huge TV.
The 37 and 40 inch models are almost as expensive, so you might as well get the 46.
The 46 inch model of the Samsung 650 line is way more expensive than this TV. That is a lot of money for the 120 Hz you probably won't use.
The 550 models are slightly more expensive than the 530's, but the super clear gloss screen makes the 550 the better choice.
Plasmas are cheaper, but LCDs are more reliable, lighter, and I think they have better pictures (from good viewing angles).
I bought this TV as an open box item from Amazon Warehouse Deals. I got a super good deal because of surface scratches I'll never care about. The TV has minor scratches on a corner of the bezel and the remote also has a small scratch. The scratches are so light that I could buff them out using a rubbing compound. I won't bother though because I can't even see them unless I am like 6 inches away.
I would highly recommend Amazon Warehouse Deals. I just checked and right now they are sold out of their imperfect open box LN46B550 TVs. That is not a surprise.
I could write many pros about the TV, but why bother.
Go to a store and compare the screens of the big TV's.
Samsung TVs are always the best.

great TV for the price
Purchased 09/18/09; arrived within a week; Pilot delivery service brought in the tv and set it up for me and made sure it worked. I was leary about an open box item, but I do not see any issue with the tv and at $792 it was a great price. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I give four stars because standard definition viewing is not that great, but HD is wonderful.

You want this TV
Just bought this tv about 3 weeks ago. The picture is amazing- especially with high Def programing. I love the look of the set as well with the piano black frame. Amazon was awesome and delivery and set up flawless. All this with one of the CU's top rated TV's at a discount TV price. You can't go wrong.

red touch of color?
got this tv few weeks ago. had to fine-tune my room arrangement but have found the right plan. picture is terrific, menu very easy. don't know how to make the red touch of color co me on but know what it's supposed to look like due to son-in-laws almost same. was unhappy with the "special" installation, as the delivery people showed up unexpectedly 3 days, early and hauled it in, removed from box to plug into outlet and were demanding me to sign off job (did no installment). i only signed after making several notes on form that audio was NOT checked out, video was NOT checked out, etc. etc. and that only plug put into outlet. they were hostile that i would not fill it out to their bullying and that i made a copy of the document. all in all, they were here 4 minutes from time i saw them pull into my drive and then pulled out of my drive for their next deluxe installment. good tv. very poor service. wonder how the delivery service is affiliated with amazon.

A Christmas Gift!
I purchased this as an early Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law. I had done quite a bit of research and this Samsung model has received excellent reviews. It's a good looking television and the images are very clear and make TV watching so much more enjoyable. The price is very good and the delivery and set up were perfect.

great tv
We bought this tv in April after researching quite a bit. My friend bought a Bravia at the same time and I watch them both often. I have to say that the
samsung has a much superior picture and controls. We are very happy with this tv so far. I have not hooked up a pc to it but video games are great.
Also it was delivered before the proposed date.

Great TV for the price
I needed a new TV for the client reception and waiting area of my office, where waiting clients sit about 10 feet from the TV. I wanted something LCD 46 to 52 inches in size, for 10 foot away viewing, yet not too heavy. This one caught my attention because it is a name brand (Samsung), right size (46)and is 63 pounds with stand. I give this TV 4 stars after 3 weeks. It has been a great TV for the price (less than $1000). I also liked the fact it comes with both digital and analog tuners, because our security system cameras broadcast on the old analog channel 19 and when I want to check them I can simply switch to analog channel 19 from the now standard digital channels. This TV worked great right out of the box, was well packed and promptly shipped, although I have played some with the picture settings to suit my personal preferences. My biggest concern when I got this thing was that the base plate for the base is made out of glass, but the glass plate appears very strong and has held up well. Of course if you intend to wall mount the unit that is irrelevant. Another concern was that the speakers actually face down and not towards you as you watch the TV. But the sound has been plenty adequate at the 40 to 55 settings (0 to 100 is the scale) for my office. Of course there are jacks on the back for hooking up external speakers if you are one that likes to blast the sound.
Picture quality is very very good when viewing HD content, and above average I think for non-HD digital content. Picture quality has also been great for standard DVDs (I have not used Blu-Ray). The TV offers 3 viewing modes, which are Dynamic, Standard and Movie. Dynamic is best for when you are watching in a well lighted room, Standard otherwise, and Movie for when watching in a darker room with few or no light sources. Viewing mode is easily controlled by the remote, which has worked perfectly I might add. I have reset the Standard mode to suit my personal tastes, which is Backlight at 7 (0-10), Contrast at 90, Brightness at 50, Sharpness at 70, Tint at G50/R50. This gives what I consider the best picture in Standard viewing mode when HD content is on. I would caution however that although almost all content these days is digital, not all content is HD. You will notice a lower quality of picture for ordinary digital versus HD, but that has to do with the quality of the content, not the TV that displays it.
Bottom line is I give 4 stars. Reason for not 5 is that this is a standard 60 Hz TV, not 120 Hz or 240 Hz. If you intend to watch a lot of fast paced sports or play video games I would recommend you pay out the additional few hundreds of dollars to get a higher Hertz rating. Had this been a 120 Hz model I would have given 5 stars. Very happy nevertheless and fit my needs well at a very reasonable price. 4 stars

What more could you want?
Unless you have to have the top of the line TV with internet connectivity and all, this TV is great! 60hz works just fine. If you read any review on CNET or anywhere else, the difference between 60hz and 120hz is not even noticeable. Think about it...if cameras only record at 30fps or 60fps...how could a screen refreshrate double that even do anything? It would just refresh the same image twice. Anyway, this samsung 550 is great.

Great 46" LCD TV
Samsung LN46B550 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
CEVA called me on 12/22/09 to confirm delivery on 12/23/09 between 10 AM and 2 PM. It was delivered at noon (ordered 12/18/09), two men carried the set to the 3rd floor, unboxed, and set it up. I connected a PC, and one of the men got it on the TV. They didn't ask nor did I tip. It took about 3 minutes from the front door to leaving. One man recommended keeping the shipping box in case of a return.
A great thing is getting local HD channels (32 without rotating the antenna from original position) which is some feat since I live where there is mountain and hills between me and the rest of the city. The set must have a good tuner. The antenna is a Winegard Metro Star Digital HD360 Amplfied which is above the set.
I haven't had a chance to test a DVD, but the set is great, and I got it at $869. The price went up recently.
All in all a great experience and a great buy.
I hope this information helps.
The only issue was tracking showed phone contact on 12/21/09 which I don't recall.

Good All Around Reasonably Priced LCD TV
I purchased this TV to go in the living room. It is a nice size to not dominate that space and provides an excellent picture even though it is placed near the front window. For the price, I would recommend this TV unless you have specific needs, i.e., play games, sporting events, etc. I mostly wanted it for blu-ray discs and documentary shows. The picture is crisp and uniform. The pivoting feature is handy for me as it is in a corner and I am able to squeeze by it to connect devices without trying to move it each time. It has the Red Touch of Color feature that is questionable as an advantage as you can barely see it--if at all. But, this feature does not take away from it. The installer (from the satellite company) had some trouble installing this TV as he was not very familiar with Samsung. He said it had things he was not familiar with and I should check the manual to find out the purpose of the AnyNet feature. It has four HDMI ports so that several devices can be connected.

Samsung Wins!
This unit arrived 5 days after I ordered it, not the stated 2 weeks! :)
I've waited for 2 years, searching for the right TV. After reading many reviews and comparing prices from more than 10 suppliers, Amazon beat them hands down.
It set up very easily. It is heavy though and you'll need assistance lifting and positioning it.
The TV's speakers are very good with excellent separation but a little shallow without a big woofer.
I added a Bose 3-2-1 system and now the neighbors are aware I've updated too.
Nothing in my area matched this deal on any Black Friday Specials.
Thanx Amazon.

Nothing in my area matched this deal on any Black Friday Specials.
Thanx Amazon.

Excellent HDTV for the money
I purchased this HDTV after Consumer Reports gave such a positive review on it. I also purchase a Yahama 900 watt theater system to go with it. The two together are out of this world great IMO.
I use them together in a room in my finished basement, and I could not be happier with the HDTV.
Samsung makes some great products, and this is one of them.

My new TV
I am very pleased with my new 46-inch TV. Everything about it is nice - the color is great, the sound is good, and I love the look and how easy it is to swivel the screen. I have only had it a couple of weeks but I love it so far.

Worth every penny..
Purchased this just after Thanksgiving, arrived in about 2 days. (super fast) TV is of great quality and I feel it is one of the best purchases I made all year.
When I go to purchase another TV the first place I will come is back to AMAZON. (no shipping charges, no sales tax and best price anywhere)
Completely satisfied ...

Very satisfied
The price was right, it arrived on time and the setup was easy. I have had this Samsung TV for a month now and I am very satisfied with everything. Initially, I didn't have HD service a couple of days ago, I converted to HD service and now I am amazed at the picture quality and sharpness of colors.
I would recommned this model to anybody who is interested in a 46 inch HD TV.

Samsung 46 inch LCD TV
We used to have a projection TV, and this is light years better. The picture is clear, and the colors are sharp and wonderful! Our old projection was a 55 inch, and this new one is a 46 inch, even with the smaller screen, it's a huge step up. And, unlike the old projection TV, you can see the picture on the screen from sharp angles to the side. My only real complaint with the purchase was the shipping. It was supposed to arrive on the 14th of December, but we didn't get it until the 22nd, because we live out in the back of beyond, and the TV had to come by freight. The trucking company only comes to our area one day a week, and they got the TV the day after their weekly run, so it had to sit in their warehouse for an extra week.

Solid, A Handful of Nits
Unlike the Samsung BD-3600 (see my review), I have almost no complaints about this device. For all intents and purposes, everything is rock solid.
Minor Nits:
I would have appreciated more technical details and comparisons in the manual for the various options. I don't think the ANYNet option to decouple the on/off commands between various components works perfectly, but honestly this are just nits. I believe the price and quality are there for this set. From what I read, for most people spending more for 120Hz. or other features are a waste for most people. I'm an older person, but I certainly couldn't see a difference in the store.

First HDTV
I purchased this brand new HDTV at the end of 2009 for $741 directly from Amazon.com. I'm not sure if you could find a better deal than this. I live in California, and it took about a week for me to receive the set since you have to schedule a delivery appointment.
When I receive the TV, the worst thing happened. It did not work. I could not even turn on the TV. I contacted both Samsung and Amazon.com, and here's what they offered me. I briefly described the issue to Samsung, and they told me they might already know what the problem was, and they were going to order the part for replacement. Amazon.com offered me a full refund or $100 discount for a more expensive TV or $30 discount for a cheaper TV. At this time, I was happy with the offers from both sides.
The replacement part did not arrive as fast as Samsung claimed. Almost couple weeks later, the technician from Samsung finally came. It turned out that the main board was locked up and needed to be replaced. This was fairly an easy fix as I watched the technician performed the entire replacing procedure.
This is my first HDTV, so I can't really compare it to anything, but for the price that I purchased, I have no complaint. I am also very satisfied with the customer services from both Samsung and Amazon.com.

Fantastic buy on a 46" HDTV
I purchased this for a senior citizen who had never bought online before. The smiles have never stopped since the TV arrived!
The TV was delivered by a contracted delivery company who called for an appt and then brought the large TV in and unpacked it enough to see there was no visual damage. Setup is Plug & Play. 60 HZ technology appears sufficient. I have never seen any reason on fast action scenes to spend more to go to a 120 or higher hertz.
The picture is beautiful, the sound impressive for downward-firing speakers, and the remote is color coded and easy to use. The remote has a separate key for Closed Caption - just one touch when the phone rings and you can follow your show by reading closed captions. Unbelievably handy - my other brand of TV doesn't and I miss it every day.
The USB connection on the side port is easy to use but doesn't change automatically to that mode when a flash drive is inserted. But the remote does have a dedicated 'Media' button. Unlike a 46" Panasonic, the pictures, MP3s, and videos are displayed in folders. They also display in ascending alphabetical order. I have never been able to get a Panasonic TV to display that way. That brand always takes the first ten pictures and appends them to the end of the file - go figure. It has never displayed a file from 001 to 099. One thing that would be nice is to have a mode where the user could override display by folder and simply display all pictures on the drive. This would be nice for senior citizens who just want to just plug in an SDHC card from a camera using an USB/SDHC adapter (available form Amazon). I did manage to get an 84-year old man barely familiar with computers comfortable with using the USB function for picture viewing. Don't discount this statement lightly. Older people tend to be wary of these new TVs!
The tuner displays all channels in one mode without having to change. On cable, it displays analog channels first followed by digital (QAM).
The ease of use and excellent performance makes this TV a steal at less than $950 even after adding a 3-year Square Deal warranty.

Love this TV
There are so many TV's on the market that I had a hard time choosing which one to buy. After a lot of research I chose this one. The price at Amazon was over a $100 cheaper than Best Buy and when I saw that I would get a free Blu Ray DVD I jumped at the chance. Free shipping also. I love this TV. The images are crisp and clear. I don't see the Touch of Red that is listed and not sure why they would have it. I bought a link stick for the Blu Ray and now I can stream movies from the internet. Amazon increased the price after Christmas by $115. I feel like I got an excellent value for the money and would recomend this TV to anyone.

My Christmas Present
The Samsung 46" 1080p LCD HD TV was everything I thought it would be. I had waited until analog television broadcasting had ceased because I watch mostly DVDs but when the time came to get into the digital age, the Samsung was already at a price that made it a good buy from Amazon. The TV was shipped via private carrier who came to my house by appointment and unpacked and set up the television for me in the place I designated. It comes with a pedestal mount or can also be mounted on the wall as desired. The television works like a charm and the video is grain free and much clearer than I expected and I was watching regular DVDs, not HD. The up-scaling built into the TV works very well to bring the standard video up to HD standards. The audio is also very good with the internal speakers. The multifunction remote control is set to work with the television as received and the standard color, brightness, and contrast settings are absolutely great looking. I have been watching it for about 2 months now and highly recommend it as a great value and top performer.

Another Great Samsung LCD
I purchased this Samsung LCD television for my mother for Christmas. She absolutely loves it and so do I. The picture this TV produces is clear and vibrant. The price was unbelievably low. The shipping was free and more importantly, hassle free. Within 2 days of pressing 'place order' the television was delivered without issue by Eagle Transfer. I would purchase this TV again and certainly recommend it to my friends.

INCREDIBLE!!!
After an exhausting study and research on Flat panel LCD TVs this one by far was not only the best value, but the clarity and crispness of this image is INCREDIBLE!!! Right on the money with angle view, milliseconds, ratio and HD quality!!!

Good TV
The picture isnt the best but when you have HD connected there isnt much difference from TV to TV quality.

Great Product, terrible delivery
Amazon used some off the wall delivery service for this very large and delicate item.
Result: TV had large hole through the middle of screen, and was undeliverable.
It left a very bad taste, as TV was Christmas present for family.

My first hdtv; looks like a keeper.
Had to replace a fifteen year old RCA 31" crt set. Analyzed these things to death. Flat screens are now the only way you can go, forcing most to higher cable/sat charges for HD content. I don't have HD (Dish) yet, so the full capabilities of this Samsung are yet to be proven. Standard def material is catch as catch can; some is just fine, some is purty awful...but truth be told, that is more'n likely the fault of the program source (pink faces, crappy looking graphics and the like.) A couple of cons in MHO; touch of color seems to be a waste of ad space. What is needed?? Put a table lamp behind the set to be able to enjoy the burgundy-wine colored ring? What, already. Next...those touch-sensitive controls in front of the set. To use them, one has to go fetch a flashlight. Useless, unless engineering would have back-lighted the little suckers. Lastly, that annoying "muted" icon that floats around the screen. Get rid of it, or at least just flash the muted indicator momentarily; no sound?? Press a volume button and the question is answered. As for all the negative reviews about Samsung support and service; I bought from a local big-box store and ponied up for their three year coverage. Takes the factory run-around out of the loop. Hope to never have to use it, but if ever needed, the policy will handle all the footwork. That's why one buys insurance, huh? So far (three weeks and counting) this set is working out fine. Now, let's see, where did I see that really good blu-ray disk player??

Great TV and awesome picture
Have looked at large screen TVs for long time; have always been impressed with the Samsung picture quality when seem in stores side-by-side other TVs. Samsumg always had the best/sharpest picture in my opinion. Very easy to mount with a universal wall kit. The first one received via Amazon was damaged but the replacement they shipped was received within 3-4 days so it wasn't a signficant loss. Saved $100 over local stores, didn't pay state sales tax or shipping so it was a big bonus. Had the TV for a month now and very pleased - with the digital tuner built in, we now pick up digital TV channels we didn't previously receive.
Overall, excellent TV and I highly recommend as a purchase.

Excellent TV
I've had this TV for just under a week now and am very pleased with it. The picture is great. Set up and connections were easy and straight forward - it was up and running within 15 minutes. Easily connect to a Sony Blu-Ray player and older Sony Home Theater system. One note: if you use HDMI cable, some cable boxes require you go into thier settings and turn on the HDMI connection - otherwise you'll get a picture but no sound. Used Amazon's HDMI cables anb they work perfectly for a fraction of the cost. The Touch of Red is barely noticable. Pretty good non reflective screen that offers good viewing during the day - of course, it's amazing when it's dark. Reasonably good viewing angle for a LCD. The base seems pretty stable and is included.

Bought it open box "Like New" and it's perfect. Screen is beautiful - especially in HD. Would buy it again!

Great for the price
I have been looking to replace my Fujitsu 42" plasma that was 5 years old. Embarrassed to say what I paid, but this Samsung blows that one away. For $1k this is a great product. The unit gives a clear crisp picture. Built in speakers are plenty for the bedroom. if you would want in a theatre room, you need to add external speakers.
My only complaint is that it takes about 30 seconds for the picture to come on when you turn it on. Also when you turn it off there is a white lite which may be the lamp that you see before the screen goes black.
So far, so good. I hope to have this one longer than the plasma.
