Reviews of Samsung LN32B550 from Amazon.com
excellent product, except for viewing size of photo picture can't extend to full screen !! extend to full screen
The picture quality is excellent, except when you view the photos taken from camera, the picture size can not extend to the full size of the screen, this is one demerit of this TV. I don't know if other brand LCD TV has the same problem, but not my Apple laptop computer. I hope SamSung should try to solve this problem !

Great HDTV
The Samsung 32-inch shows extremely beautiful colors. The only thing that bugs me is the Red Touch of Color. I have yet to see the color red around my tv but otherwise it's a great LCD.

Missing red touch of color
TV works fine, but this one, made in Mexico, does not have the red touch of color which it is supposed to have, and that was very diappointing as that was one of the reasons we picked this particular set.

Good value
TV was delivered in a few days, Free delivery, Men were careful, courteous, thorough, put stand together, placed it, connected as needed. TV is just right for me, great picture. I'm no connoisseur but I love it. A good value since it also included a blu-ray DVD player. I find Amazon a great place to shop.

A GIFT I WOULD BUY FOR MYSELF
So let me start off by saying this was a gift for my parents, who are not very technically advanced.
In fact, their last TV which they watched in their kitchen, was a 13" that was probably 15 years old.
(In their defense, they also had a 19" in their bedroom) but I think that was even older...LOL.
Myself, on the other hand, am a person who really scrutinizes my audio/video purchases, and have found a way throughout the years to get the BEST of the Middle Class! If I were "Financially Independent" I would be the guy with a $50,000 dollar home theater system, in my living room, and probably have enough knowledge to build one. Unfortunately I do not have that monetary luxury, so I have had to do my research, meticulously reviewing every aspect of the technical spectrum, to make sure I get the most for my money, when it comes to my audio/video purchases, and have always gone to the Tippy Top End of mediocre.
Not quite audiophile level, but close enough to the untrained eyes and ears.
With that being said, I tried to find a top of the line for what my parents would consider "top of the line"!
And since they aren't gamers, or will be using the plethora of inputs this TV has...
All I wanted was the BEST picture within my price range...
I was originally going to go 720p, because in comparison to their old set, this would have been a HUGE upgrade.
But when physically viewing TVs this one seemed to have a better picture when on an angle, and I wanted to give them the option of Full 1080P, if they ever felt the need to have a Blu-Ray player.
And the side USB is perfect for them for viewing pictures from their camera! SIMPLE/EASY! NICE!
So I helped my parents set it up last night, and it was a BREEZE!
Other people said they had problems with the screws not fitting in the base, but ours fit perfectly...
Nice and tight! Just make sure you use the right screws for the right part!
Also...other people complained about the RED TOUCH OF COLOR not visible?????
That was one of the first things my mom noticed and commented on how pretty it looked.
THE PICTURE IS FANTASTIC! We set it up to go directly into their cable line, with the QAM TUNING...
And now they have like 100 more channels than they did before.
The remote is intuitive, and has MANY MANY features that are accesible with the push of a button...
Instead of having to scroll through an entire menu to get lost in.
Some people complained about the sound.....C'mon guys????
These are TV speakers??? They sound GREAT for TV speakers....
Sure....My parents pictures are not falling off the walls, and the cutlery in my moms silverware drawer are not rattling! But they are TV speakers, and they definitely sound better than what they had, and they actually sound pretty good for them to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune!
Maybe I'll buy 'em a 7.1 system for it, ya know they could put the subwoofer behind the refrigerator, and one of the rear speakers on top of the can opener! LOL
Anyway, this TV is BEAUTIFUL, has many inputs, sounds great, and is very easy to navigate to customize exactly what suits you best!

Nice tv
Love the bright colors and super sharp picture.
Did not rate it the full 5 stars due to how thick the tv is.

Good picture quality but average sound
This TV is now old and superseded by other better 120Hz TV's. Personally, I checked out the 120Hz v/s 60Hz TV's at Best Buy and I couldn't tell any difference. I think this is all a gimmick to keep making people pay for new stuff. First there was DVD quality, then ED quality which was kinda HD, then 720p, then 1080i and now BluRay and finally Full HD 1080p. Since this topic of HD is now exhausted, the newest manufacturer trick is to double the refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz to 240Hz etc. I have a 5-year old 1080i 50" Hitachi LCD rear projection TV and I am happy with that. All this new stuff is just to entice customers with buzzwords.
Anyways, coming to this TV, it has good picture quality out of the box. However, the sound quality is average. I played my home music streamed through my PS3 and the sound quality was just average or even below average. There was no bass thump, no oomph in the music. It was flat, monotonous and generally average. Now, I can understand smaller TV's needing external speakers, but this is a 32" TV. You should give it good sound. My earlier Samsung 19" this replaced had better sound.
PS3 over BluRay was good. Game mode is a plus since signal passes unprocessed meaning faster response time. I think this TV has 6ms response time which is good enough for most games. Unless you have super fast motion where you may see ghosting although I think that still will be rare with the 6ms.
Enough ports on the back for the PC, HDMI, component so no complaints. TV Remote is good and well laid out. Light on/off feature on remote is a nice touch for dark rooms.
The red touch of color is barely visible and I could only tell when sunlight fell on the TV. Else you cannot even tell its got the red touch. This is a silly useless feature anyways.
Oh and the swivel feature of the stand is a big plus over Sony and other TV's in this category.
Overall, I will recommend you buy this but hear out the audio quality first in BestBuy.

Great TV
I have purchased 2 low end HDTVs recently and what I notice most are lack of functions or ease of functions and the low speed of channel selection. Almost any low end HDTV will give a great picture and while I would not categorize this Samsung in that low end category, the picture is great and the channel selection is fast. This TV does a good job of providing ease of use for channel deletion, favorites etc. However it does not allow one to change the name or number of cable DTV channels. So when you are used to watching channel 4, it appears as example, 118-1 on the TV. The sound is also very good on this TV. For the low end TVs previously mentioned the audio when turned up would quickly distort. The Samsung was light and easy to install. Amazon had a great price with free delivery when I bought it.
For the inability to manage channels better I give this TV 4 stars.

No headphone jack!
As title. I can't quite believe Samsung wouldn't include a headphone jack. It boggles my mind. How much did it save them? A few bucks? Completely stupid. If you want to use this TV with headphones you have two choices - plug the audio out into an amp, then the headphones into the amp. Or get a left-right RCA to mini-jack cable and plug directly into your headphones. However, if the headphones (like my Sennheisers) have separate left/right mini-jacks instead of one stereo you're boned again. Yes, there may be another cable that would work, but really, why should I bother?
Lovely screen, but what were you thinking with the lack of headphone support, Mr Samsung????

A Great TV Backed by Fantastic Customer Service at Amazon!
I researched this TV and in the 32 inch category it came away the clear winner! The Picture quality is awesome, the number of inputs and outputs exceed what most people need however they will be there in the future should you need them. There is even a USB port on this TV. The contrast ratio is far greater than Sony or any other brand I have come across. I expected to pay in excess of $700 for what Amazon is offering for $559 + free shipping! If you have been looking and have not yet made a decision to purchase........Order it from Amazon NOW!

I am Extremely pleased with this t.v.....so far
I just received this tv today so I have not had a chance to see or use all of the functions. So as far as a plug and play review, I have nothing bad to say about this set, and I think I am a harsh critic, personally. I did my research before buying and found this 32" set to be the clear winner. Amazon had the best price by far and shipment was faster than expected.
THis is my 3rd HD set and this one is superior to the others, especially the sound quality, in my opinion, which is something I was concerned about. Swivel feature is very nice and unexpected. It is the perfect size for my bedroom, and I'm glad to hear about the lower power/brightness feature for late night watching, as another reviewer mentioned.
Overall...I couldn't be happier with this purchase. If you are thinking it over, my advice is go for it! There are lemons out there no matter what you do or where you shop, as I see has happened to some of the folks here, unfortunately. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I just received it today. Will update my post in a couple of months (hopefully with more great news! Let's just say, I'm keeping the box! Hey, you just never know).

Beaustiful Display
This is by far the best TV I have ever owned, bought it for video gaming, only problem is its too good. TV channels that arent HD look horrible on it.

Good value for the money
Favorite feature is the audio adjustment that is built into the TV. It adjusts the volume of the commercials so they are not so loud and in line with the TV show that is being watched.

Lit remote control, fast response
This is a wonderful TV. Prompt delivery. We plugged it in and it worked! This is my second Samsung TOC TV. It was carefully packaged in the original box and a bigger box with peanuts. I especially liked that the remote control can be lit, since I bought it for my bed room! Also, it responds fast when changing channels etc. (I have a JVC TV which reacts so slow that you think it did not receive the command).

Better than expected for the price
This tv is perfect, it had more HDMI inputs than stated......the color and clarity is great and the set itself is beautiful.

BEAUTIFUL in every way. Awesome TV.
We have had this TV for about two months, and love it to death. We got a steal on it at a local electronics store chain, and my girlfriend brought it home one day just as a spontaneous purchase because of the price she got on it. It's our first ever Samsung purchase too. I have to say that the picture on this TV is literally stunning. Perfect rich color and pitch black blacks. The screen is a bit reflective when it's off, so I was concerned that we'd have window and light reflection, but once it's on there is no reflection what so ever. A HUGE plus over some of the TV's I've seen that reflect light like a mirror. Don't understand why people spend thousands of dollars on TV's like that... but none of my busienss. The "touch of color" is a nice touch too. This TV works great with everything component we haven connected to it. Never really needed the manual because it's really easy to navigate the menus and set up. It's a GREAT and welcome addition to our bedroom. We had a 20" LCD in there previously, now it's in the kid's room for video games. Everybody's happy. It's really one of the prettiest, most easy to use, but also one of the most powerful 32" TV's I've seen as far as performance, options, and features go. 100% satisfied with it after only two months, and since we BABY our electronics almost to a fault, I'm expecting to be ejoying this one for a long time! Exactly what you're looking for when you spend a couple hundred dollars on a TV. You want options, ease of use, performance, and NO HASSLES or GLITCHES. Samsung hit the nail on the head with this one, hands down.
