Reviews of Samsung LN-46A750 from Amazon.com
Remote doesn't work
Remote only worked for one day; a warrantied replacement will take up to 2 weeks. I ordered a replacement from parts dept - extra cost for quick delivery: $78. TV is quite useless without a remote.

Amazing HDTV!
I am 100% satisfied and more than pleased with my purchase! I have had my 46" LCD for seven months and am still blown away by the pristine and sharp picture.
Like most, I was a little torn between brand (Sony or Samsung) and size (40", 46" or 52").
Samsung was THE best price for quality and size after months of searching. Sony looked good, but I felt like the design of the Samsung was sleeker and more pleasing to the eye and I got a 46" 1080p w/ 120Hz for a MUCH better price than a comparable Sony.
I looked at the LED LCD for an instant, but for the price right now, it just isn't worth it in my opinion if you are price conscious.
The added features, like weather and news are pretty cool, and the included images are nice to put on during a party or if you are just relaxing around. If wall mounted, you can have breathtaking photos or paintings all the time.
I, like several others, was concerned with the possible "halo" that might be present while viewing. I have not even thought about or noticed it in my seven months of owning this HDTV. HDTV looks great in low and no light.
I am so very pleased with my purchase and buying through Amazon was a breeze! I don't think I will ever buy from a big box store again (especially Best Buy, I received little to NO customer service from them).
So should you purchase this item? Absolutely.

Great LCD TV!
I have been using this TV for last one year now and it has been great. I am so happy with the performance. The quality of picture is amazing. Even for the normal channels it enhances the display.
I had read before buying that some customers were not happy about the glare in sun-lit room but ours is well-lit room and we do not face any problem. However when the direct sun light comes in the room, we do need to adjust the darkenss in the room to have clear visibiity.
I had also noted some unhappiness about the remote. I have found it ok.
The shipping and delivery by Amazon was superb! It was on time. The delivery boys were patient to let me check the features before signing them off.

Performed as advertised. Glad I waited for this LN46A750
1) I decided in Nov 2008 to buy a new tv after my brother snagged a ln40a550. He had no problems with his LCD so I gravitated towards an a550, a630, a650 and eventually a750 due to the price and bang for buck quotient.
What you like best about your LCD.
- Connections galore, I have Comcast HD/DVR from Motorola, Sony DAV-HDX275 HTIB, and PS2 hooked up. Holding out on Blueray until I figure out if PS3 worth $$ or stay with PS2 and get dedicated Blueray. Wish i could play Netflix straight to TV.
What you don't like about your LCD.
Calibration options are so reliant on firmware/panel manufacture, so many of the settings that i've found don't look good for me. However, I used mostly Standard and Movie picture settings with some adjustments and am happy with picture.
What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.
-SD channels are hit or miss. Mostly miss. I tend to avoid viewing those channels. Al
No problems so far (knock on wood), and I am very impressed with my tv. Understand that no TV is perfect, even the $4000 high end sets. I'm VERY happy with this TV and plan to take advantage of all the connectability and eventually will integrate with a player that can connect with Netflix and other streaming services.

10 month review. Very pleased! DLNA works fine with PlayOn
I purchased my LN46A750 from Amazon in July 2008, and it was a great decision. I have 6 devices connected to it:
(1) Sony HTCT100 Sound Bar W/Sub-Woofer (connects 3 HDMI devices to tv)
(2) TW Digital Cable Box (2 connections: HTCT100: HDMI SAT, TV: Component)
(3) Sony Playstation3 (HTCT100: HDMI PS3)
(4) JVC XVN670B upconvert 1080p DVD Player (HTCT100: HDMI DVD)
(5) Dell SX-280 2.8ghz pc w/wireless keyboard (tv: HDMI/DVI)
(6) ReplayTV RTV-5040 PVR 320GB (tv: component)
I also purchased a Harmony One remote to control all these devices, and it does a splendid job. I have my TW digital cable box set up so that it just uses tv input for regular viewing (via component), and the option to use the nice Sony HTCT100 (via HDMI) when watching movies, etc. For the PS3, I bought a PlayStation 3 Blu Wave so that the Harmony One could communicate with it.
As far as the halo effect, the only time I think about it is when I read the reviews here. My LN46A750 sits about 12 feet away from me at about 45" eye level. As far as window glare is concerned, there is very little. So for me, the halo effect is a non-issue.
The ethernet connectivity, along with DLNA support is great. Many people have had problems with Samsung LN46A750's DLNA capabilities, so I didn't bother trying it for myself until just recently. PlayOn has a service whereas you can watch Netflix, Amazon VOD, Hulu, CBS, YouTube and ESPN directly from your Samsung LN46A750. However, for this to work, you need a computer which is at least a dual-core 1.5ghz. I personally just use my Dell D620 2.2ghz dual-core laptop. I am using a Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router. Under router settings, make sure to enable UPnP and Filter Multi-cast. Both my Dell D620 running PlayOn and Samsung LN46A750 are connected via cat-5 cable. Also, my LN46A750 is set up to receive automatic IP address, not static.
I have broken down using PlayOn into 2 steps:
(1) PLAYON SET UP (2) PLAYON VIEWING.
The REFERENCE section is located near bottom of this review. Actually you should read it first before installing PlayOn. Learnng PlayOn is somewhat confusing at first, but it will soon become second nature for you. It is well worth the time and effort.
==========================================================================
Step (1) PLAYON SET UP:
Download Playon's software to your computer from www.themediamall.com/playon.
After installation and verifying Playon Media Server is Running (see REFERENCE section below), your computer now becomes a server to your Samsung LN46A750.
==========================================================================
Step (2) PLAYON VIEWING:
Turn on just your LN46A750 and press the W.LINK button on the remote. You should see a WISELINK Pro menu with Photo, Music, Movie and Setup icons. Using your Samsung remote, click GO RIGHT until you reach the Movie icon. On movie icon, click the ENTER button. Sometimes it takes a second for remote command to take place on screen, so be patient.
You should now see folders for Netflix, Amazon VOD, Hulu, CBS, YouTube and CNN. The folder you are currently on is larger than the ones beside it.
Next, practice by accessing latest "The Academy" episode under Hulu:
Click ENTER on the Hulu folder, and message "UPPER FOLDER" appears. Click GO RIGHT until you are on TV Episodes folder, then click ENTER. Again, UPPER FOLDER shows. Click GO RIGHT until you see the A Folder, and click ENTER. UPPER FOLDER shows. Then click GO RIGHT and click ENTER on The Acadamy folder. UPPER FOLDER shows. To the right you will see actual episodes (Movie camera icon). Click GO RIGHT to the first (latest) episode, and then click ENTER. Once selected, a count-down pinwheel with message "Preparing to Play" appears in righthand corner. It takes about 8-10 seconds for pinwheel to go full circle. The selected video may start within 1-3 seconds, or the pinwheel may go full-circle twice before show starts. It doesn't seem to follow any particular pattern.
Okay here is where the confusion arises... the pin wheel may go full circle, either once or twice, and message "NOT SUPPORTED FILE FORMAT" appears. If this occurs, immediately press RETURN (twice) very quickly. Sometimes, it works better to click RETURN twice quickly, then once more a split second later. The object is to back up one step, so that you can re-select episode by clicking ENTER again. For whatever reason, your desired show will activate fine the second time. This happens fairly frequently, but is an easy issue to deal with.
Once your ahow has finished, you can either press EXIT to return to WISELINK Pro main menu, or click RETURN a few times to return to Hulu's TV Episodes menu. Each time you click RETURN backs you up one step.
TIP: You can either click GO RIGHT for latest episodes, or GO LEFT for earliest episodes. You can also use yellow button on your remote to mark several episodes so that they will be viewed consecutively.

Excellent TV
I am still extremely impressed with this television one year into ownership. The picture quality is simply outstanding, and it looks great hanging on the wall.
It has a built-in sub-woofer which helps the sound quite a bit (this is a step up over the 650 model). We almost always listen with just TV speakers, so it was important to me. However, at low volumes, the sound is a bit 'tinny', which is par for the course with thin TVs. Overall, I'd say the sound is top-of-the-line for a flat panel TV, so don't let this deter you. Listening at normal volume, the sound is better than the large CRT we were using before.
Some people complain about a 'halo' around the edge of the screen, and some cosmetic peeling of the 'Touch of Color' (inside the glass of the bezel). These things exist, but they don't bother me. The halo is easily solved if it irritates you (just search around, there are a couple ways to do it), and the peeling is so tiny, I can't believe how much people were commenting on it. You can't even see it unless you're right next to the TV and looking for it. Maybe we just have a mild case of it.
The glossy screen concerned me before I purchased - it almost kept me from pulling the trigger. I don't regret it in the least. Now, when I'm looking at TVs for other rooms in the house, I find I WANT a glossy screen because of how attractive it is and how deep the blacks are (note - I don't care for them on laptops because of glare). However, be wary if there are lots of windows in the room that shine on the TV. If you're sensitive to this, it could bother you. (I still think it's worth it, personally.)
I also use the TV for gaming (Playstation 3). I don't bother putting the TV into 'game mode' (which it has), and have zero problems with lag. Maybe I'm not that sensitive, but I've never noticed any lag at all, actually. I keep my AMP (Auto Motion Plus?) setting on 'Low'. Higher settings seem to cause erratic visuals in fast moving scenes, and I suspect will cause some display lag as it does the extra processing.
Purchased from Amazon, which was no hassle at all (I was concerned about buying a big ticket item online). I won't hesitate to buy a TV from them again. We had zero dead pixels, so no returns were necessary.
Finally, note that there is a newer model of this TV (the B750) which is apparently also excellent (I did some quick research). Although I have no first hand experience with it, it's possible the B750 has a bit more lag than the A750 (if you're looking to use it for any kind of gaming). Honestly, I sincerely doubt that's an issue and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
I'm thrilled with my purchase after a year, and would buy again in a heartbeat if the need arose. We have had zero problems with the TV in that time, which speaks for its reliability.

I love this. I wish I purchased a 65 inch unit.
Don't forget, when you purchase a rectangular tv most broadcasts are square. Go figure. You need to purchase a larger unit than you think. I purchased a 46 inch tv but most broadcasts come out in HD which is 38 inches. Why make all of us purchase HD rectangular tv's when HD is broadcast in a square format? Next well all have to purchase round tv's to view a rectangular format. Only in America! And I love America!

TV rebooting / on-off issue
Just to warn everyone contemplating buying this tv or any other samsung tvs ( search google ). After about 6 months the tv just will not start. rather it goes into rebooting itself. You just don't have any control over the tv. It starts and you can hear the initial sound but then no display and the tv goes off in a while to start all over again. Very frustrating and annoying to happen in just 6 months. Searching google it seems this is a very common problem and Samsung doesnt have a clue as to what's happening. I have extended warranty so will update on how it goes fixing this issue. It's a warning to all spending so much money on a branded tv. Rather go with vizio or any other cheap tv so as to not waste hard earned money.

the wireless linkstick is out of market - no any support from samsung
Samsung posted comment on the CNET that the LN##A### is 08 model, since it is 08 model, so the linkstick (WIS-08BGxx) is not produced any more. So if you want to have wireless network with your PC, this is not for youto buy. The question is why they still make this 08 model on the market with fake description to cheat on the customer. My guess is Samsung plans to have this function BUT FAILED and they do not want to solve this problem at all (may be they do NOT have this ability to fix it)!

Top of the line
I strongly believe that Samsung has the best line of HD TVs available. I have not yet seen a TV able to match the picture I get for the price I paid. I have had this TV for over a year and still get amazed from time to time when watching HD TV shows/movies. Very nice design and easy to use remote.

Word of caution
We purchased this TV about 21 months ago. Until recently we have been very happy with our purchase. The picture quality is superb! We were so happy we purchased a second Samsung TV. However, this week we have experience a problem. When I attempted to turn the TV on it started cycling on and off after a few minutes the picture would come up. Today the TV started cycling again and the picture has yet to come up. I called Samsung and they arranged to have the TV serviced, but since we did not purchase the extended warranty we are on our own to cover the costs. I did some research on the Internet and found that this problem is not uncommon with this TV. It appears to happen within the first 2 years. At this time I don't know what the service is going to cost. Estimates I saw reported were for around $300. I believe that a class action lawsuit is in the works. [...]
If you purchase this TV I recommend the extended warranty. Please understand that our family never purchases extended warranties, however, based on my experience and research I am extending these words of caution with this product.
