Reviews of Panasonic TC-L32S1 from Amazon.com

Great Picture

I removed my CRT 32" Toshiba from it's TV cabinet to while I was doing some flooring in my home. I forgot how darn heavy and bulky these old school TV can be. I decided at that moment that I would replace it with something more modern, and Lighter. This 32" tv out of the box looked so much smaller, in height, than the previous one that I was concerned it was too small for my needs, it turns out it wasn't. The picture on the other hand, was absolutely brilliant in HD mode. Rich, vibrant colors that makes my bedroom Element HD TV look poor in comparison. No probs with the connections and a good intuitive menu. The only prob., and it's not really a prob, is running an audio cable to my surround sound audio system. It requires a single digital optical audio cable. Last time I tried one of those cables on a different system, I wasn't pleased with the audio quality (ie tinny sound) so we will see how this one sounds once connected.

32" cannot mount on exisiting wall moount

Just bought this from Amazon...wanted to put it on an existing wall mount...missing screws needed to do so..were not in Panasonic box...do not know if oversight on their part, or intentional so you have to buy their brand? So, have not turned it on as of yet..

Excellent set for the money, but minor flaws.

I purchased this set to get rid of a heavy tube HD set, but couldn't afford a high priced LED set. For the money, this set is an excellent value. I have Dish Network for tv with an HDMI input, and a regular DVD player with an HDMI "upconvert" feature. The picture is wonderful on both inputs. You can adjust the picture as you wish with the remote control menu.

Now for the minor flaws.
1) You do have to turn the volume way up. I thought at first it was because I have a noisy heat pump fan (I had just moved here when I got the set). But it's not a major issue for me, and I can use the stereo if need be. I notice it more on DVD's than Dish.
2) The set would turn off and then back on by itself while watching it, so I tried plugging it directly into the wall instead of the surge protector. That solved the problem, but since we have lightening storms and frequent surges from the electric company, I don't want to take a chance. I replaced the old surge protector, it doesn't do it as much now.
3) The remote control is not easy to use. The sleep timer only gives you three choices: 30, 60, and 90 minutes. I prefer my old set that went in 10 minute increments up to 2 hours, but again, a minor issue. I normally use my Dish remote control to turn it on and off and adjust the sound.
4) It claims to have a feature that helps with motion scenes, but I notice some fast motion scenes are choppy, a problem that plauged earlier LCD sets.

It sounds like a lot of complaints, but I know people who paid mega-bucks for their set and have many more complaints than me, so as I say those are minor complaints and overall I'm satisfied with the set.

Panasonic TC-32S1

This is a fine television. Yes the audio seems a little low but I'm getting older so that maybe the problem with that. The picture is outstanding and the colors are beautiful. The value for the dollar speaks for itself on Panasonic TV's. I'm happy with this TV.

Great picture, disappointing sound

I got this tv at an amazing price - about $630 but actually ended up returning it... The picture was beautiful but I was disappointed in the sound. Like the other reviewer, I had to turn the volume all the way to the top to catch conversations. This may not be an issue if you have speakers - I didn't. I ended up spending quite a bit more and getting an LG. The picture is just as good, and the sound is a bit better. I don't have HD right now, so this review is based on my Comcast cable.

Excellent buy!

I previously purchased the 37-inch predecessor to this model one year ago for my Livingroom, and have been extremely satisfied. I knew I wanted to stay with Panasonic to replace the set in one of my bedrooms. I purchased the TC-L32S1 on Black Friday for a great price, and free super-saver shipping. This new 32-inch 1080p model meets all my expectations. The set-up is a breeze, the picture quality excellent, and I have no complaints with the sound quality or volume. If your in the market for a competively priced 1080p Television, this is a serious contender!

Great Gaming TV

I started out on my venture to purchase a new gaming TV (mainly for my PS3). My old set was a 27" Samsung CRT that had some really bad coloring and geometry issues. I finally got fed up and decided to start looking around for a 1080p LCD that would fit into my existing entertainment cabinet. After reading a bunch of reviews online, I discovered this horrible affliction that all LCD TVs experience - Input Lag. Generally, if a TV has a good/great picture (Sony and Samsung), it has more input lag. If you want a TV with low input lag, the picture won't be as good. As mainly a gaming TV, I decided to try to find a TV set with great input lag numbers with a good picture. After hearing how well previous Panasonic models were for gaming, I decided to get this TV.

Well, I couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase! Not only is the input lag very low but the picture quality is quite good. The colors are very good, but the blacks aren't as good as a Samsung or Sony. Mind you, I haven't had much time to go diving into the color/service menus to fine tune the display. Also, I cannot rate how well it handles SD signals as everything I've used it for have been 1080i/p native. Yes, the sound volume from the TV is pretty bad, as most reviewers have mentioned. But this is a non-issue if you have a receiver to hook it up to.

PROs
Excellent input lag
Good picture quality
Great price (Thanks Amazon!)
Great input select menu (press input and then hit 1-8 to immediately go to the input you want)
Very attractive design with a non-gloss screen
Lots of input options including 3 HDMI

CONs
Weak speakers
Only 1 component input*

*I had my PS2 and TiVo HD hooked up through component on my old TV. On this TV I had to go buy another HDMI cable just to have them both hooked up at the same time.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this TV. If you are reading this and are looking for a great 32" gaming TV, do not hesitate to buy this TV!

Great TV for a great price

I was looking for my first HDTV to place in my bedroom and this one seemed to fit the bill. There were a lot of complaints about weak sound, but I decided to take the plunge anyway. It was definitely the right decision.

I also don't think that the sound issue is as bad as some reviewers have made it to be. I rarely raise the volume past 25/100. Of course, keep in mind that it's a small bedroom and I'm usually 5-6 ft. away. As another reviewer suggested, check the "AI" audio sound settings. My TV actually came with the feature already turned off, so it might be that Panasonic has heard enough complaints about it. If you plan to put this in a big living room, then you MIGHT need some external speakers. But you should see how you like the sound first before buying any extra speakers.

The image quality on this set is pretty awesome. I have it hooked up to a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4250HDC cable box and a PS3 with HDMI cables. Blu-Ray on the PS3 looks really good. Colors seems accurate and I have yet to see any hiccups. I've also streamed over 1080p videos from my Mac to my PS3 and it also looked great. The only thing that might be an issue is a bit of image blurring during sporting events. It's typically visible when players are moving, which causes things in the background (typically the crowd) to become blurry. Although most of your attention will be on the players, not the crowd, so it's not a huge deal.

Bottom line is that this TV is a wonderful entry level HDTV for the price being asked (about $450). If you're on the fence then get off of it and buy it.

Excellent TV

Bottom line, this TV is currently ranked the 3rd best 32inch TV according to consumer reports, only behind the much more costly Samsungs, but ahead of the more costly Sonys. Tier one brand, great price, buy with confidence.

My TV situation: stood in the corner of formal living room, designed not to dominate room, used 1-2 hours a day.
My TV viewing: general TV, casual films (no gaming or surround sound serious cinema).
My TV source: digital antenna/OTA/ATSC (no cable or sat) via Tivo HD, plus Netflix and Amazon video on demand.

I was shopping to replace my old 27inch CRT TV and a 32inch LCD is a perfect size for that. There is a bewildering choice out there. In a big box store I honestly could not tell the difference between the many manufacturers. Reading user reviews on line was ultimately a waste of time as someone always has a complaint or some unique need or set up.

I made my choice for this TV because of 1) the excellent professional reviews by consumer reports 2) brand quality reputation, 3) great amazon price, 4) clean case design 5) good number of inputs.

The picture by the way is excellent without modifications, bright, clear, viewing angle is not an issue. Note I don't use the TV remote or TV tuner as I use Tivo instead.

Considerations: I technically probably didn't need a 1080p TV, 720p would have been fine as most TV signals are that, and I would not see the benefit at my viewing distance at 10+ ft, but this TV gives me flexibility to use with higher quality sources like HD downloads, gaming consoles or as a PC monitor in future. This 1080p model was also not much more expensive than a 720p model.

I wasn't sold on on the added cost for 120Hz for my needs: 120Hz does not seem to matter for TV signals, only 24fps movies, and if you're into serious cinema you're probably not looking at 32inch :-)

Sound on this TV, like most 32inch TVs, is from 2x10w speakers, and is absolutely fine for a living room and casual viewing, I have not had to go above 50/100 on the volume level. Note sound for me is via Tivo-> HDMI.

Overall the best 32 inch set for games and computer usage

Pros
-good quality IPS panel, a superior LCD technology generally used in just a few premium computer monitors. Panasonic, NEC, and Apple are among the only manufacturers who guarantee IPS panels. Few other TV makers use them and even when they do, companies such as Samsung, Dell, LG have been known to swap them for inferior cheaper panels after initial positive reviews are published.
-less than a single frame of input lag with progressive sources, and a good quality de-interlacer which adds merely a single frame of lag, making this one of the best gaming TVs for ANY price.
-horizontal and vertical viewing angles are nearly as good as CRT and plasma, no color shifting
-saturated and accurate color (when calibrated), crisp and bright, no banding of gradients, no loss of detail in shadows or highlights, extremely rare for an affordable television
-S-Video, Component, Composite, and 3 HDMI inputs, both digital and analog audio outputs
-1920x1080 signal can be displayed 1:1 with no cutting off of the edges, such as from a PC with a DVI-HDMI cable
-a wide variety of VGA input timings are supported

Cons
-VGA input resolution limited to 1280x1024
-diagonal viewing turns blacks gray (just make sure the TV is placed at eye level to get the ideal wide viewing angles)
-the speakers are somewhat weaker than other similar TVs
-only Cinema mode (with brightness at 50 and Contrast at 100) has reasonably accurate color, the other modes make color changes that are not user accessible.
-fluorescent backlight gives slightly bluish "Normal" color temp, "Warm" looks best
-the black levels are good enough, but not remarkable
-colored text is slightly fuzzy even at 1:1 pixel resolution due to subpixel font rendering techniques of OSX and Windows (still readable and better than turning subpixel smoothing off, but this TV is not ideal for use as a full time web/productivity computer monitor, it is perfect for a media PC however)

Fantastic Picture

It is everything I wanted for a great price. I was going to hold out for an LCD/LED but I thought why pay triple the price for a sharper image I couldn't detect myself. The only slight issue is the sleep time is only in increments of 30 minutes. I was so impressed I got the 42" version for my family room too. The sound on the 42" set could be a little better for movies, but I listen to that through my home theater, so there is no issue. One of the items that impressed me the most is that even though my home theater is a Sony brand, there was no training the remote controls, when I switch my input to home theater is automatically turns it on.

A beautiful TV for the money.

The Panasonic TC-32S1 is a great tv for a great price. I have had the tv for about two weeks now. I have a Mac Mini serving up DVDs, Hulu, Netflix and some other video streams as well as recordings using the HD Homerun from Silicon Dust, and it all looks great. I also have a Wii hooked up with component, and it is the one source that doesn't look as good as I expected. Some of the anti-aliasing looks jagged on the Mii's but it's not a deal breaker. The tv has independent calibration setting for each input, which is a huge plus over many of the competitors for this size and price category.

I sit about 8ft from the screen, and the picture looks beautiful, even on content with compression artifacts. One third of one pixel is stuck, but it can't be seen more than 2ft away from screen. The IPS screen is great, I can see the screen from all areas of the living room, though if you are standing (often while playing Wii) you do loose a bit of the contrast, but the further you move back from the screen, the better the viewing angle and so the better the picture performance. Also, we have a lot of ambient light from the many windows, and the screen is very clear and visible even with direct sunlight.

The SD slot is a nice feature, but it is only setup to play back picture files and update the firmware (however, the SD card must be formatted with proprietary software from Panasonic and only works with Windows XP and Vista).

All in all, it is a great tv. I would recommend for someone who is hooking up to a computer (but use an HDMI or DVI-HDMI connection if you want full 1080p resolution).

great for the price

I got this for under $440. that is about the price I paid 12 years ago for my 21 inch non hd tv,which this is replacing. It is the only tv we have at this time. The sound is not really that bad for me. the room is an open very high ceiling 20ft x20 ft. room. Takes getting use to the wider screen as sometimes the pic is slightly 'off' aka stretched a little. But once I am use to it, it is great. I need to set the remote up using my logtech harmony remote but it is giving me problems at this time, once I do that, the remote will no longer be a problem. (would help if it glowed in the dark as most of the time it is to dark for me to see the keys.) All the problems are minor and still better then the old, small screen tv I was using.

Why only one option for audio out?

Overall this is a great quality LCD 32" TV, but seriously Panasonic, how hard would it have been to put in some audio out RCA jacks?? A lot of people are still hooking TV's up to their old stereo receivers which do not have digital optical inputs. If you are buying this TV and have a surround sound receiver, make sure you have the optical input and optical cable (around $9 via Amazon).

Great TV for the Price

I purchased this TV to replace my current 32" LCD in my bedroom. I use this TV to play my Xbox 360 and occasionally watch Netflix when I am lying down. Out of the box, the TV looked great. The piano black finish was a nice change compared to my current 32". Additionally, Panasonic included a cleaning cloth for the screen and frame. My only complaint was, the screw holes for the stand were are very deep. If you don't have a magnetic tip screwdriver, this can make putting the base on difficult.

Setup was very easy. You turn on the TV, and go right through a quick setup. My old 32" was only 720P/1080i, so I immediately checked to see if my auto settings on my Xbox 360 and Blu-Ray player picked up the 1080P setting. I was glad to see they did and I didn't have to change anything. Right away, I started playing NHL 10. It was like day and night. The lines were now crisp and the colors were very deep.

Next, I switched to my cable feed. The picture is very clear and there is no lag. Like others, I noticed the off angles make black appear grey. In response to that, I have to ask, who watches television at a 160 degree + angle?
As far as sound goes, I have no complaints. With any LCD television, there is not much room for good speakers. Additionally, if someone thinks they will get Klipsch quality sound for this price is sadly mistaken. I sit around 8" from my television when sitting in bed and can hear everything perfectly on 20 (goes to 100). I have to say, if someone can't hear this television, they need to start turning the iPod down.

Pros:
Great picture

Easy to set up

Remote worked with Blu-Ray player without having to set anything up

Sound is acceptable

Cons:
Base is difficult to put on

Remote does not have options to quickly switch from HDMI to Component (you must use the input button)

Black appears grey when viewing from off angles

I use the Turtle Beach X3.1, no audio out for component cables, will have to use headphone jack (I knew this when I purchased the television)

My first flat screen and i love it.

I love this tv! I connect my laptop to it, and play Wii games on it. Picture looks great, sound is great, and the menus are easy to navigate. One of the best purchases i've made.
(February 13, 2010)

Excellent Quality LCD

Out of the box the picture is great - had no need for adjustment. Just a small sound adjustment (+10 Bass & Bass Boost, +1 Treble), I did notice a lot of other users dissatisfied with the sound and at the moment my sound level is around 6 to 7 and really see no need to go above 13-14 but if you are having to go above 20-25 you might want to consider either A) a hearing aid or B) a home theater system, and besides with certain grade speakers if you push them past a certain level your going to blow them, if you do feel the need to crank up the sound you should invest in a sound system.

Now the meat and potatoes:
- Viera Link works great with my PS3 (turns it on and off, and handles all controls within the menu!)
- Picture is awesome, deep blacks and vivid colors.
- FIOS HD never looked better
- Watched some Nascar did not see any ghosting
- Looks better then my LG
- Picture and sound fine in a 250 sq ft room.
- Did I mention Viera Link works with your PS3?!

Cons:
- Sound could use a little more bass

Overall myself and family are completely happy with the purchase, got a great Gold Box deal on a four diamond product.
(February 13, 2010)

Extremely Happy.

First - let me say that Amazon is awesome! I have been dealing with them for years, but boy, they just seem to keep getting better. I ordered this TV on a Thursday morning and it was delivered to me via FedEx by 2:00pm on Saturday - 2nd day FREE with Prime!!! (Prime is a steal, I went without it for years and will never be without it again.)

Second - the price! I got this unit on a Gold Box deal and paid $379. That is a bargain considering 720p's are selling for that much.

Third - The unit is awesome. Great color, design, connections, sound, packaging. Don't want to get too technical here. It is a name brand, 1080p with IPM screen that looks and is performing awesome out of the box without adjustment.

In my opinion, if you can get this below $400 - just do it. You will not be disappointed.
(February 13, 2010)

Very pleased

On a Thursday morning, I ordered three items, standard shipping, super saver shipping:
Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32 inch 1080p LCD Television.
Sony DVP-NS710/B 1080p Upscaling DVD Player
Mediabridge Ultra Series 6 ft High Speed HDMI Cable

All three items arrived by early Friday afternoon, less than 36 hours later.

The system was operational 30 minutes later.

Picture quality on the Panasonic TV is exceptionally good.

Ordinary DVDs played on the Sony and displayed on the TV appear crystal clear and in high definition.

These are three outstanding products that work together beautifully. They were all packed well. Delivery was exceptionally fast.

Highly recommended.

32 inch Panasonic 1080

I have only had this Panasonic for 2 days, but I have purchased 4 other Panasonic TVs in the past. Some are over 10 years old and they still work. This is first flat screen TV, so I bought this small 32 inch or our bedroom. Very nice size, easy to install and it works wonderful. The color, clarity and sound are first rate and the price from Amazon for $400 was just outstanding. I would recommend this size and brand for small bedroom viewing. I bought at the same time a blue ray DVD player, and the movies are crystal clear on this TV.
(February 15, 2010)

Amazing

I have been looking for a tv for my room mostly to play xbox on and watch dvds I bought this TV because it was a good size for the right price after reading the reviews I was a little worried because people were saying that the sound was bad and and that they couldnt hear anything I have the volume on 8 out of god knows what prolly 50 or 100 and i can hear it threw out the house this tv is perfect no flaws with sound image or anything other then that i have 2 hdmi cables in it and a few other inputs and it is easy to us and works great good buy.
(February 15, 2010)

Amazing Value

The Panasonic TC-L32s1 is a 32" viera 1080p LCD HDTV. It offers the best picture quality and aesthetics I've seen in the ~$400 price range. While many of the more pricey 32" Samung LCD's offer better contrast and motion handling, the S1 is the better value.

The first thing you'll notice is how attractive the TV is. It looks like a premium model should, with only the significant thickness of the display marring the sleek and modern look.

The second thing you'll notice is the plastic remote. The buttons feel cheap and are somewhere between rubbery and hard plastic. It gives on odd feel to the remote control, unpleasantly so. Still, the functions of the remote work well, even if there are too many buttons with little function or practical use. Navigating menus is simple enough with the remote, but the menus should have been designed more intuitively.

OF course what matters is the picture quality. This is where the S1 shines. It has a powerful backlight that allows the TV to output a bright enough picture for any lighting environment. The contrast is great for a tv in this price range and the 1080p max resoltion is a great feature for those planning to use this tv as a computer display or want to sit up close playing PS3 or xbox 360.

The picture was held back by lack of 120 Hz technology, although motion handling was decent for a 60 Hz set. Another weak area is the lack of white balance or color settings. These are usually offered in more high-end models, but would have allowed proper calibration (less than 10 delta error on grayscale) of this tv without service menu access. WIth service menu accesss, this tv should calibrate well though as RGB levels were relatively flat across grayscale. It was nice to have a 100 point scale for backlight adjustment, but probably unneccessary. One tip: set your color tone to Warm Mode.

Sound was competent, but as with most TV's, you'll benefit from external speakers. The average consumer will probably be happy with the sound. I had no trouble getting ample volume out of this TV, contrary to some other Panasonic Viera reviews.

If you are looking for a 32" HDTV with the most bang per dollar, look no further. If you are considering a larger TV, there are several 37" and 42" LCD's and some 40" plasmas priced competitively.
(February 16, 2010)

Beautiful Picture!!

Amazing TV. The picture is amazing! Sound and options are also wonderful. There is even an SD card slot on the side-- Nice BONUS!! Overall, I LOVE this TV and the price was too good to pass up. Thank you again Amazon.com!!!!

This TV Rocks

Panasonic seems to make killer 32" TVs. They bombed on a 50" 1080p plasma I bought and took back to Target. So I'm not just a Panasonic fanatic. But they know how to make the 32 LCD. Whether it's 720 or 1080, you will not be disappointed in a 32" Panasonic TV. I ended up going with this TV for two reasons - got it for virtually the same price as a 720 and the 720 lacked an analog out. This TV is going to an older Onkyo receiver that doesn't have optical connections; most of the Panasonic TVs seem to have only optical, no analog. This TV at least had a headphone jack so I got it. So headphone jack, 1080p resolution, Panasonic quality, a great price and a killer picture made this a great choice. (I gave it 5 stars on the audio but I honestly have not listened to the speakers nor would I care what they sound like)

Very Good tv for the price

I have this tv in my bedroom but it would do fine in most any room. The picture is very very good...not as nice as my plasma tv but still extremely nice. I use it as a stand alone right now, no surround sound and the quality of the sound is ok. I know there are a lot of complaints about the sound but I really don't have that problem with mine. I did set the sound to "surround" but only because I think it sounds a little better that way.
Don't hesitate to buy this tv....you won't be sorry.

Great gaming tv and so much more!

What can I say about this HDTV... in one word... EVERYTHING! I upgraded to this from a Sony Bravia 32" KDL and I can honestly say it was a big upgrade! The motion focus helps great with video games and the colors are vibrant. Movies also look excellent and are how they should be. It worked with the wall mount that I had for my Sony Bravia so that wasn't an issue all the time.

This review is going to be all over the place because it's going to be raw and uneditted, so bare with me as I hype up this tv with random comments on movies and video games... I just want to make sure I get in what I was looking for when I was reading reviews before purchasing this HDTV. And! This is my first review on amazon... so bear with me...

The input lag on this tv is flawless and I can tell because I've spent countless hours on Call of Duty:MW2 on my previous HDTV setup then on this one... Everything just feels right and it's worth it! I read on webiste that when on game mode with the motion focus on the input lag is 0ms to 16ms if you need to know...

I've watched a few Blu Ray movies with it already and also a few dvd's upconverted and they are beautiful. When I first got this set I did not have it connected to my surround sound system because I wanted to make sure everything was up and running before I started connecting more equipment to it.

The speakers are just fine without a surround system and I did notice that it already had the AI sound off which I read from other review sites sets the volume a little lower to keep from blowing out a setup or I don't know. Either way the sound is good enough for a bedroom setup. I connected this HDTV via optical cable and the sound is great (optical cable from the HDTV to my Harman Kardon AVR 146 reciever). Of course it's best to connect your video game system or Blu Ray player directly to your receiver but for the purpose of this review I wanted to say it sounds as it should.

The remote control works great! I also bought the Panasonic BD-60 here on Amazon.com for $129.00 a few weeks ago and it works great with this remote! The remote that came with this set also has rewind, fast forward, pause, stop and play button on it and the direction pad on the tv's remote works with the player when not in the tv's menu without having to switch the remote to bd player mode or anything... the buttons are nice and big and simple to use.

I'm going to give this TV 5 stars because it did everything I wanted to and have been watching more movies because of the quality of the picture and playing COD:MW2 more because of the input lag that is noticeable and will up your game over people who don't have a Panasonic.

Nice TV at a Nice Price

I ordered this from Amazon when I got their e-mail about a Gold Box sale, and the price I thought was really good. I'm pretty much a Sony guy, and really like the Sony KDL-46XBR9 LCD we purchased recently, also from Amazon. For the $379.00 price of this Panasonic I didn't expect really superior picture quality, but that's what I got in this TV, and we are very impressed. I used to be a real techie person, but with lots of therapy I'm over that now, and when all's said and done it's the quality of the picture I'm most interested in.

It doesn't have all the bells & whistles and connections of some other TV's (spend more & get more!), but for a bedroom TV I have all good things to say about this Panasonic TC-L32S1 model. We've had no problems with the sound levels as noticed by some reviewers, and while it's argued whether 1080p really helps in a 32" screen size, it certainly doesn't hurt.

Nice-looking design, great picture, great price, free shipping, no tax - what could Possibly go wrong!

Another Happy Customer

Another Gold Box purchaser here. I was about to get the X version from Costco, but this deal came along and bought one. Panasonic is my brand of choice because I need the best LCD viewing angle I could find. I wanted an LCD TV that had the viewing angle of a CRT, and all other brands disappointed me, until I found the Panasonics. No one comes close to Panasonic's IPS panels. Specs mean nothing when comparing viewing angles. Consumer Reports only rates it as a Very Good viewing angle, I wonder what they under the influence of? It's fantastic.

The Picture is excellent out of the box.

The sound is OK, about as good as an LCD can get. Notably better than Vizio. For the uneducated, LCD's will never have the sound of a CRT due to space limitations. Welcome to the digital age.
I turn off AI sound, as I have yet to meet a so-called volume Leveler that works. Surround Sound ON, Bass +15, Treble +10. Volume leveler +7.

The headphone jack is actually quite good with headphones. Using it as an analog output to an amp or powered speakers however, it takes uncomfortably cranking up the TV volume , which will blow out the speakers if you don't remember to turn the volume back down when disconnecting. Why Panasonic didn't include an Analog RCA output is beyond me, and this is my only issue with their TV's on the whole.

Fantastic Picture At 1080 For A 32" LCD

Well, I've read all the comments and reviews from the blogs about this model from Panasonic. I bought this one 2 weeks ago from Amazon and gotta just say simply, WOW! Can't believe the picture quality. Stunning! In fact, perfect for the bedroom or office which you can double it as a monitor. Great viewing angle, absolutely thrilled with it. Get the HDMI cables for your bluray/dvd player and your all set. The audio isn't the best, however it is about normal for this price range model. Certainly more than adequite for the average user. Bottom line. You can't go wrong on this set! Grab it!
(February 20, 2010)

Wowie!

This TV is superb! The viewing angle is a little better than my PC monitor (which is great) The remote is easy to use & has features that eliminates the Samsung DVD player remote altogether. Movies look great & all I have is a regular upconverting (1080) DVD player. The stand is heavy & sturdy. The frame surrounding the screen is a bit too shiny for me, but it's not as wide as my old 26", so it's better. The ittle things are appreciated as well like... I open the box & guess what brand of batteries came with the remote. That's right! PANASONIC batteries ! :) *****

Very happy with overall value of this television

I bought this TV a few weeks ago and have been very happy with it. The picture quality has been great watching the winter Olympics!
(February 23, 2010)

Awesome picture, but weak sound.

As often as possible I buy Panasonic products. For whatever reason I seem to have very good luck with them. Be it a VCR, clock radio, TV, cordless phone, etc it just seems like I'm always able to find products that get good reviews, contain features I want and are not unreasonably priced. For me the bonus is they last too; I actually have a Panasonic clock radio that's at least 20 years old, and it still looks and acts as though it was new.

I purchased this TV -- the Panasonic TC-L32S1 -- for my 22 year old daughter, because she's not terribly familiar with all of the technologies and features available in flat-panel TV's (whereas I'm quiet a bit more versed in them). And thus far, 5 weeks and counting, it hasn't disappointed. This TV was actually outside of the price range we were looking for but I found them on sale for about 45% off, which made it a no-brainer for me.

After I did a little tweaking the picture is fabulous. Colors are crisp and vibrant, images clear and precise, and motion/action scenes show no discernible artifacts. I've used cable, DVD and a laptop for input, using both analog and HDMI connections. All worked very well. The unit has plenty of inputs/outputs, enabling me to hook up her cable, VCR, DVD and Wii simultaneously. I have her 2.1 speaker system attached as well. My only complaints are minor; there isn't a tremendous wealth of picture adjustments for a TV in this price range, and the sound is a bit weak.

For "tuners" such as myself -- those who know what utilities like DisplayMate are and how to use them -- I was a bit surprised to see that some of the more esoteric adjustments weren't available (like color temps or depth of hues). Thankfully, the TV really doesn't need much adjustment to achieve a very nice picture, so it wasn't an issue really.

The sound from the cabinet speakers is not all that impressive though. While you don't expect home theater quality from a couple of dinky speakers it should be a little better then it is. There isn't much volume either, so a fairly quiet viewing room or a home theater is advised. Since she does have a 2.1 system already I simply hooked that up and solved the audio problems.

Other then those two small gripes, neither of which impacted my daughter, I have no complaints. I suspect most people who purchase this unit will be very pleased they did. I certainly am.

Best Mid-Range 1080p TV I Could Find

Great picture with many options to tweak. I was worried about the black levels and the viewing angle on this tv, but I was most certainly NOT disappointed. I also have a computer with an hdmi out and was worried that it might not work properly, but sound and video work great after a little bit of tweaking. I had to go to menu, picture, advanced picture, and then adjust the hd size to 2 instead of 1 to get the whole computer screen on the tv; a pretty easy fix if you know what you are doing. i dont know how well the built in speakers are since i output my sound through optical out into my surround sound, which is a great add-on on this tv and has yet to cause any trouble. i am sure that there are things wrong with this tv, but as an owner for a few months now, I have yet to see any. some may say the menu options and remote are a bit confusing, but i never found that to be the case.

Dream come true

I was waiting for a TV of this type to fall below $500.00. When this happened
I jumped upon the offer. I had read reviews but I decided for myself.
I am very satisfied with evert aspect of this set.
(February 26, 2010)

Great TV for price!

This TV looks great on my wall, and for the price it has great picture quality and the sound is not bad at all. I tested it out without the surround sound on, and the TV does actually get quite loud. All in all this is a great tv!
(February 26, 2010)

Awesome Value!!

Bought this for my bedroom. I have a 42" Panasonic now for 2 years , so far so good on that one, so when I saw this buy, I jumped right on it...I have no problem with the sound....and I am a little hard of hearing, but when I set it up on my surround sound, it was much better, as expected

Great deal for an excellent Panasonic Viera 32" HDTV

I seemed to be the only person who did not own a flat screen, modern TV. All the TVs in the house are between 10-15 years old and slowly dying. After finding reason after reason to put off purchasing a new TV I saw this Gold Box deal for a Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV for $379.00. I could not believe it. Then I checked Consumer Reports and they had this model ranked 3rd for 32 inch LCDs. I had to order it. It is the perfect size for my bedroom. I removed an old 20" RCA TV and I could not believe how heavy the thing was. I am thinking of tossing it out the window rather than carrying it down the stairs! (But it has to go to the recycling center so I won't!)

I am not disappointed at all. I thought the TV was amazing from the start but then I got an HD cable box connected using the HDMI cable and wow! I cannot believe the difference in picture quality. I watched a few hours of the Olympics and it looked fabulous. Events like speed skating and bobsleding that have a lot of motion looked beautiful. I did not notice any blurring on the fast motion scenes. I have watched one Blu-Ray movie and once again I could not believe the crispness of the picture.

I know I have just come out of the dark ages of 'tube' televisions but I will plan on replacing the other 2 sets in the house. I wish I had purchased two of them while the deal was on but I am sure Amazon will have another great deal soon.

(February 28, 2010)

Great TV for the bedroom

Bought this for a bedroom to replace a CRT. It was easy to hook up, picture was excellent out of the box, sound was sufficient for across the room. I got this TV as a deal of the day on Amazon for a great price too. This is a good second TV or even primary TV for a medium sized room for someone on a tight budget. If the TV will be competing with a lot of outside noise, you might have to hook up a speaker system, but for our purposes this works great as is.
(February 28, 2010)

Great deal!

Awesome! Some people complain about the sound, so that was the first thing that I checked... It's ok, I agree that you won't be able to play your favorite rock concert and experience it like in first row, but it's not really that bad. IMHO, sounds like a TV... Wanna play it louder? Buy a stereo!
(March 01, 2010)

Great TV for first time HDTV owner

Ok, I was slow in going away from the old box tv's into the new (well, not so new anymore) flat panel HD TVs. I purchased 2 of these, and they were delivered today. This review is not going to go into specifications or features, just my very first time impressions.

Setting it up was easy. The most difficult part was the screws kept falling into the hole area, and we'd have to turn the tv over to get it to drop out.

This tv is replacing a 21 or 22 inch old tv, the boxy kind that you can't find anymore. My cats used to sit on top of it, now they can't :)

I read reviews before buying this one. I've actually been toying with buying one for the past year and a half. I always held back because, well, the tv I had (it's in my bedroom) worked just fine. Then my son asked for one, and earned the right to get a tv in his room, so I started really looking. I read the reviews that commented on the sound. So when I placed the order, I was hesitant, but knew that Amazon has an awesome return policy.

We got the stand on the TV, and set it on the tv stand I had from my old tv. This TV sticks out over the sides a little bit, maybe 2 inches on either side, but I knew that would happen. However, it's not an issue at all. Plugged it in, plugged in my Directv box to it (no HDMI cable yet, those arrive tomorrow). Turned it on. Took me about 5 minutes to realize that I had not plugged the Directv into the TV input, but into another input. Then I got a picture. Wow!

I have been missing out! I actually was watching a show I recorded when I decided to switch the tv's out, so I hit pause. Moved old tv to closet, put new tv up, and realized I was missing part of the screen on my old tv!!! As a person with low vision, I'm already enjoying this.

It is going to take getting used to the screen though, I'm so used to the old cumbersome tv's that this is a change to be sure.

As for the sound? I have it on right now, have the volume on 7, and it's plenty loud for me. Granted I'm rather close to it, about 3 feet away, but my son commented that he could hear it from his bedroom, which is down the hallway.

Overall, for what I want for this, this is a great TV. Now to just get the HDMI cables, upgrade to HD on my satellite (happens Saturday!), and plug in the blu-ray dvd player I got, and I think I'm going to become more of a couch potato!
(March 03, 2010)

Much better than I expected.

I expected a good product from Panasonic, but this was even better. The sound issue that other reviewers disliked must have been corrected, since I found the sound levels to be perfect. The A.I. default must have been reset, since I changed it and got the weak sound mentioned. Of course I changed it back.
I use this in a bedroom, where it replaced a 19" CRT set, and the difference was incredible. The viewing angle for this TV is unbelievable.
One of the features that I insisted on was a timer, since this is my alarm clock. This baby has 5 programmable timers. These timers also answer one minor complaint of at least one reviewer. True, the sleep timer only has 30, 60 and 90 settings, but if you use one of the other timers and just set an off time, you have unlimited sleep time, to the minute.
To summarize:
Pros- Great picture, flexible timers, very versatile set.
Cons- none found so far.
Got this set at 6ave Electronics through Amazon. Great deal, super fast shipping, well packaged. Amazon delivers the deals.

Great Value and Picture in a 1080P 32" LCD TV

I am glad that I waited a few years to get a larger LCD TV, since prices have dropped so much in the last few years. Once name brand big screen TVs began to drop under $600, it was hard for me to settle for a computer monitor size set. I did several hours of internet and showroom research, and decided to stay away from Sony for both price and reliability reasons, and had to choose between some of the other name brands-LG, Samsung, and Toshiba. Price points are quite similar, with Samsung and LG being on the higher side. Panasonic was generally rated as being a reliable and easy to use TV, which is what I wanted. Many reviewers say that many non-technical users do not need 1080p resolution, but I bought the 720p version, and went to the trouble of returning it. At he price I paid for this TV, I am completely satisfied, and it is as easy to use as any TV I have ever owned. Some reviewers complain about the speakers, but I find that they are perfectly adequate for my needs. So my recommendation is to go with the Panasonic!
(March 07, 2010)

Way better than expected.

PROs: Everything everyone else has said.

CONs: Didn't buy 2 at the price of $380 each.

Simply amazing 32 inch TV. Buy it.
(March 07, 2010)

Great TV for the right price!

I love this TV the picture is amazing, it is definately one of the best TV sets I have ever owned, I am considering buying a second one for my father. THe price is great and I received my TV just 2 days after ordering it. The size of the TV is perfect for a bedroom, it even appears larger than other 32 inch models I have seen. I highly recommend this set.
(March 08, 2010)

Great TV for the Den or Bedroom

I purchased this on a "one-day" sale from Amazon and have used it for about 3 weeks. I have been very impressed with the picture and the features of the set.
One additional feature that I had not considered in the purchase was the SD Card slot for displaying photos. This makes my holiday photos look outstanding!
Even though I do have it connected through my receiver, I find that the built-in volume level perfectly adequate for the room (12' x 12') it is in.
I chose the 1080p resolution as a non-obsolescence feature but I do plan on upgrading to Blue-Ray shortly.
Overall, a great bargain at less than $400.
(March 08, 2010)

Great t.v. at a great bargain

I bought this t.v. during the special gold box one-day sale, and am quite pleased with my purchase. In the weeks I've had it so far it's proving to be an excellent t.v. even at the regular price, so at the price of $379 it was a spectacular bargain! The picture looks great, even on non-HD channels. I haven't hooked up a blu-ray player to it yet (this t.v. is in my bedroom and my blu-ray is in the living room) but regular DVDs with an up-converting DVD player look great. The sound, which many complain about, isn't great, but it's adequate, especially for bedroom viewing. It's a bit flat sounding, but it suffices, and is typical of flat panel t.v.s. Even a cheap surround system would make a difference if so desired.
(March 11, 2010)

Great picture, great price. Completely satisfied.

This is my first LCD TV, and I'm very satisfied. I did a lot of research even though I wasn't looking for a top line TV, and all in all I don't think I could've done better. Initially I used the RCA cables provided by my cable company to hook it up, and the results were good as far as picture quality, but the color needed quite a bit of tweaking, and I couldn't get it just right. When I got an HDMI cable for $3 from Amazon, the results were dramatic. I put the color controls back to about where they came from the factory and now colors are vivid and accurate. This Panasonic is perfect for the amount of space I have for it. I have read much about poor sound quality from TVs this size, but I have no complaints. Utilizing the volume controls on the cable box OR TV to set a baseline, using the one remaining remote control (whichever you choose) results in a very satisfactory range of available volume. It's not home theater quality, and I will still plan on eventually getting a sound bar for movie viewing, but it can be quiet enough for normal viewing, and also be made quite loud to make up for occasional background noise made by appliances. I am very pleased with this choice.
(March 11, 2010)

Excellent choice

Although I was initially hesitant on this product given some of the reviews (particularly those pertaining to its usage as a computer monitor), I pulled the trigger and am certainly glad I did. The picture quality is fantastic and I haven't noticed any of the blurring from rapid-movement actions (such as video games). I can only come up with two complaints:
1) The sound comes out as slightly muffled. You get used to it; at this point I only notice when I compare it against my LG living room TV.
2) Amazon put this TV on sale precisely 3 days after I bought it! Not a complaint against the TV, obviously, just frustrating.
(March 12, 2010)

Excellent Purchase

This was a deal of the day purchase for me. I paid $379 for this TV. It was delivered in 2 days. It took me about 20 minutes to get it up and running. Picture is vivid and clear. Sound quality superb. I highly recommend this tv and would purchase another.
(March 15, 2010)

Replacement of a 26 inch flat screen with this 32 inch.

Had a 26 inch high def, flat screen Samsung that came in my motorhome. Realized a 32 inch would fit in the same spot with no modifications. What a difference the 32 inch Panasonic made. Much better picture, integrated with my surround system that came in the coach. Very happy.

Panasonic TV Review

I am a TV fanatic. I have a TV in every room in my home, with the purchase of my new Panasonic TC-L32S1 32" TV.

While not the biggest TV I own, this is clearly one of the best overall, particularly when one considers the excellent price.

The TV was delivered on time and did not even have a smudge on the cardboard packing box, which speaks well of the shipper.

I have another major manufacturer's 32" flat panel TV and this Panasonic is clearly the best.

I'm very pleased with the purchase and the excellent service provided by Amazon.
(March 15, 2010)

Worth the price

I bought this on sale here for about 50% off, which I thought was a very good deal. It's my first flat screen/panel TV so I spent months looking around in order to get the best deal possible, and I have to say I'm enjoying my purchase.

My living room is small (about 13x9) with my couch about 6 feet away from the TV. The picture quality is great, the movie experience very enjoyable. I've found that I have to turn up the volume quite a bit to clearly hear what's going on, but since I have never passed the halfway point, the sound from the TV is more than adequate for my needs.

I hooked up my PC to test using the TV as a monitor. The picture quality was also very good although I had to mess around a little with the resolution settings on my PC to get a picture that filled the screen without black edges. I found that I need an extra cord to get the sound to go through the TV rather than the PC so I haven't yet tested the sound. I don't expect it will be any worse than watching regular TV, so I'm not concerned. Any issues I had with that experience are more likely due to my unfamiliarity with the whole process rather than any shortcomings of the TV.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this purchase. I think it was well worth the price.
(March 15, 2010)

Great Product, great buy!

I am really happy with the purchase of this TV, great deal. I got it really fast. It works perfect, picture and sound quality are good, I would recommend it to any one.

Love my New TV

Excellent purchase. Great Deal! It was very easy to set up. Got an HDMI cable to use with my upconversion dvd. Picture quality is very good. I am very pleased with my purchase!
(March 15, 2010)

the best

purchased the television without ever viewing it arrived at my residence what a surpise. This tv has an excellent picture and boy does it look good.
(March 15, 2010)

Great TV for a very good price

I am absolutely happy with the product. Delivery was fast, set up easy, quality is completely satisfying. In other reviews I read some complains about the volume. I think the volume is fine and represents no negative aspect. If someone one wants a better sound quality he/she has to connect the TV to an additional loudspeaker system, but for the average person the sound is completely satisfactory. I am connecting my laptop to the TV screen to watch online TV, it works great. I can really recommend the TV. Great price, good quality.

Panasonic 37" 1080p TV

This is great TV and an excellent value. Picture quality is excellent and I have not experienced the audio volume issues mentioned by other reviewers.
(March 15, 2010)

No complaints

I've had this tv for about a month now and have no complaints. I read reviews before I bought it and some people were complaining about the sound quality. My tv sounds great. Its the perfect size for my bedroom. Arrived in a timely manner and I feel like I got a smokin' deal from Amazon. Thanks Amazon!
(March 15, 2010)

Nice TV!

Great tv for the price! Good quality picture and sound. Easy to set up and used right out of the box. I changed the black levels to be a bit brighter since dark parts of movies literally were black and couldn't see anything.
(March 15, 2010)

Great LCD HDTV if you get deal or go for LED TV

I purchased this TV from Amazon.com Gold box deal for $379 and free prime 2 day shipping I wanted to buy this TV from Walmart in case I had to return but price was too high if I remember for this TV it was around $500 but after reading good reviews all over the web I decided to buy online and give a shot but still far eveything looks good, I have connected laptop with HDMI and Philips Portable DVD player with 3.5mm mini-3 RCA but HDMI is the easy and you get good quality picture and sound so far this TV is good online buy for me I would recommend this TV for people who are looking for PC monitor/HDTV
(March 15, 2010)

Very nice

TV works as expected. Very nice picture and sound quality. Hooked it up to my basic cable and it picked up the analog and digital channels without problem.

Very happy so far
(March 15, 2010)

Average TV

It is just TV. Everything is OK and nicely looking. Computer connection requires two additional cables. Affordable, working. It is exactly what I expected. Hopefully, my next TV will have build in computer, player and so on. Actually, I'm surprised why current model doesn't allow more features than photo preview. I know why, thanx -- to make new model every year.
(March 16, 2010)

Solid TV

Its got good quality. Works. I'm not a TV-phobe, and I need a good HD-TV. At 5 feet you won't tell a difference. $370 for 1080p. The interface is ok. It just does everything it needs to (work) nice and sexy.

Don't worry, its a good buy.
(March 16, 2010)

Near excellant

This is pefect for the room its in. maybe in use 2-4 times a week. Room is not made for all the gadgetslike amp or surround sound. Just an awesome picture and decent sound. For basic viewing, its upgrades Basic to another level. Highly recommend this for 2nd or 3rd room!
(March 15, 2010)

Great Picture

Even though we are not signed up for HDTV reception with our cable I find that the picture quality and colors are amazing.
(March 15, 2010)

good bang for the buck

nice little tv for the price. Picture is nice... I would recommend to anyone if the price is in the ballpark of the 370.00 I payed for mine. Don't expect home theater sound. The sound IS just fine however for a small bedroom and no complaints here whatsoever

Panasonic Viera S1 Series TC-L32S1 32" TV 1080p LCD HDTV

Love, Love, Love this television!! I'm not sure why anyone has an issue with the sound quality, that you see stated in some of the reviews. I crank my iPod, so thought the sound quality might be an issue after reading some of the reviews, but can honestly say that this television has exceeded my expectations in every way! Buy one! :)
(March 16, 2010)

Outstanding TV

this TV has been awesome since the very moment I took it out of the box. It was so easy to use, to program the remotes and get all the devices working together. Excellent product. I recommend buying the additional HDPI cable to ensure quality is the best the TV can offer.
(March 16, 2010)

Great T.V.

Television has great picture and is easy to use. Sound is horrible, have to raise volume up to highest level if watching game with friends. Definitely need to have surrond sound.
(March 16, 2010)

Unbeatable Combination of Price and Performance

While picking out a TV should be a joy, it can quickly turn into a headache with all the different brands and choices out there. Good thing there are home run purchases like this Panasonic to make things easier.

Right out the box, the TV was easy to use and set up. One thing I immediately noticed was how well standard definition TV looked on this set. So far those who don't even have a high definition antenna, you will still get a nice picture using this set.

Naturally, everything looks much better in HD. Blue ray, HD cable, and my X-box 360 all looked fantastic on this set.

The TV also function well as a computer monitor. Setting this up was as simple as hooking up the HDMI cable to my computer and TV.

Many have knocked the sound on this television, but it honestly sounds just fine to my ears. No, its not surround sound, but one should not be expecting that out of TV speakers. Sound on this set is just fine for normal viewing.

Overall, at a price tag below $450 and free shipping from Amazon this was a great purchase. Even for a bit more, you will be very happy with this TV.
(March 17, 2010)

Excellent Gaming T.V.

I purchase two of these and am extremely satisfied with the decision. I use the panels mostly for gaming on a dual monitor setup with X-box 360's. The picture is awesome and is quite a contrast from the 1080i Toshiba CRT I was using before.

It is also important to note, this T.V. was ranked #2 in the December 2009 issue of Consumer reports. This model was beat out by the Samsung 1080p (120hz) model. However, the Samsung goes for just under 800 bucks. I purchased two of these at $440 each. I could not be more happier with the choice. If you are looking for a great T.V. for gaming, this panel is an excellent choice.
(March 17, 2010)

No Problem With Sound

I almost didn't purchase this product because of other reviews that warned of "poor" sound. I have found wonderful sound levels for our 1200 sq foot
living room area. The sound from the TV speakers is more than we need. So, Panasonic must have solved whatever problem there was in earlier production models.

Great TV!
(March 18, 2010)

Excellent TV

This is my 2nd Panasonic Viera LCD TV. I recently bought the 50" Viera LCD for my living room about 6 months ago and must say I am very impressed by the quality. I decided to get this 32" for my bedroom and it was a no-brainer considering I have no problems with the 50" in my living room. The quality is top notch and very easy set-up. The HD picture is incredibly crisp and clear with no problems whatsoever. If you are shopping around, I dont know if you can find one as good as this one, in my opinion. I never had a plasma type TV but I cant imagine the quality of those would be any better then this Panasonic LCD.
(March 20, 2010)

Kudos to Panasonic!

I recently purchased the Panasonic 32" HDTV. I had a problem setting up the TV, with a blocky image, fading colors, and downright poor image quality. I am not especially technically minded, but neither am I a novice, and my problem was with a manual that is not very thorough in its explanations beyond the basics. However, I called the support people and they were polite, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. Within 5 minutes the technician had identified the problem and told me how to correct it. The results: The best image I have seen on this level of TV. This is my third HDTV and of course other family members and friends own HDTV. This is the best picture I have seen from among them. Other reviewers have commented on poor sound quality. That is not my experience. I don't know what they were expecting, but for this type of TV the sound is quite good and it is also very adjustable. Although this TV doesn't offer the most extensive adjustments that the most demanding techies might prefer, there are actually numerous adjustments for sound, picture, inputs, and outputs. You should be able to achieve the exact image you seek. Another thing I like about this set is the backlighting. The room my TV is located in is very bright, with a lot of windows and glass doors. The picture quality is very high even during the brightest periods of the day. A long story shortened: This is an excellent TV that outperforms most others, even those costing much more. I highly recommend the TV, the service, and of course, how well and quickly Amazon got the product to to me.

You will not be disappointed if you buy this TV

I purchased my second one of these units from Amazon less than a month ago. The picture quality is excellent! This TV was rated 3rd in the top 3 in this class by Consumer Reports Magazine not too long ago. The two higher rated brands were both hundreds of dollars more expensive . I have seen their picture quality on display in electronic stores and I personally didn't think they were that much better to be worth the extra cash.I can't imagine a similar LCD TV producing a high definition picture that could be noticably superior than the one this model produces. I found the input connectors quite sufficient for my needs. In my living room I have this unit connected to a DVD Player, a Roku wifi receiver for streaming Netflix movies and a Verizon Fios High definition digital receiver. They are all using HDMI connecting wires so there is absolutly no clutter behind the TV. I have an optical cable connecting this TV to my Yamaha surround sound receiver. The TV speaker's sound is as good as you can expect from a flat screen because the speakers in all these models have to be small to keep the TV's dimemsions as narrow as possible. If you are not happy with the level of audio quality from the TV speakers you probably are the type of person who is going to hook this TV up to a surround AV receiver so this will not be an issue that is a deal breaker.
For it's price there is nothing better....period.

Good as a PC monitor, except for blurry colored text

Pros:
1. Menu performance is snappy, no lag when navigating through it.
2. Picture quality is quite good.

Cons / Notes:
1. No USB input for media viewing.
2. As a PC monitor, colored text is blurry, especially red colored texts.
3. VGA input does not support full HD, make sure you'll be using HDMI / DVI.

Panasonic Set Excellent

This is our first LCD HDTV television. We really like this set, no problems. The picture quality, color, and sound are excellent. We purchased the same 32 inch size as our previous set but did not notice that even though the width is slightly larger than the other set, the height of the screen is much shorter. Be aware of the set height when you purchase any of the LCD sets. If we had realized this we would have purchased a bigger set. Because we were looking uncomfortably down on the screen we placed the set on a large wood box on our cabinet shelf in order to raise it to normal viewing height--6 inches higher. Of course, if you can mount this set on the wall, there would be no problem.

Panasonic Rocks

This is my first LCD and I LOVE IT...I bought this to replace a Toshiba 26" widescreen which I really liked but little did I know what I was missing!!! Picture is awesome!! Some have complained about the sound but I don't think it's really much different than my old TV....hooked my Bose stereo speakers to the DVD and I now have great surround sound for all my movies. I bought this particular one because of reputation and one of the reviewers said this was Consumer Reports #3 rated 32" .......

Great TV for price

I've got to say I'm very happy with this TV, At first I had doubts because of the reviews I read but I decided to purchase this item.
My idea was to replace a Panasonic CRT 29 inch and use it not only for watch TV but to play PS3, Wii and watch Blu-Ray

So, here's what I think about the TV

pros:

+ It's 1080p
+ First the quality is great, in my opinion it looks better than my Sony Bravia 42 inch.
+ The sound is ok, it sounds like a normal TV (I read a lot that the sound was awful) If you're not happy with it you can plug a Home Theater.
+ If you wanna plug a console, PS3 in my case, you'll be more than happy. The image looks sharp and good and have a game mode that helps display image better
+ Actually you can use the TV remote control to use the PS3.
+ HD channels looks awesome and normal channels looks fine.
+ It's lightweight just 16.280 kg compared to like 50+ kg of the 29 inch CRT TV.
+ The price.

cons:

+ This TV is 60Hz, but it's not big deal to me. I can play and watch fine the contents displayed and the marquees down.
+ The menus of the TV are a bit ugly (esthetically) but you can find fast what you're looking for.

Bottom line:

I can say that If you're looking for a good 32 inch TV do not hesitate this TV has very good specs/quality and an excellent price.

Good to better LCD TV

For a LCD its very good TV.

It's cooler (tempature wise) than my Plasma TV, which is good since it's in my daughter's room.
The options on this TV are great, The best option I like is the SD slot (which only Panasonic has on their newer TVs and Blue-ray/DVD players). As for Video connections: it has enough for a second/Kids room TV.

If you have or get a Blue-ray/DVD player, suggest getting Panasonic, too.
reason: Blue-ray player remote will work with all of the newer Panasonic TV's. So you can put TV remote in a drawer.

Setup was very easy, If you mount to the wall and you use HDMI, even the Cable hookups,
I would recommend getting a couple of 90 degree adapters.

They will cost you a few bucks but they will save your high dollar HDMI cables, and you will be able to tilt your TV more.
As for where to get them Radio Shack (of course), Wal-mart had the HDMI adapter, as for the Cable (TV, Satalite connector).
I suggest looking and pricing at different stores. I got mine from Lowe's, where they were the cheapest by $ 1.50 over
the Shack (they were cheaper than Wal-mart, too)

Great TV, great price, amazing quality

I have had this TV for a while now, and have not experienced any problems with it. My brother has a larger 42" Dynex TV, and the quality of my TV is so much better that we both prefer the Panasonic. The picture quality is amazing, HD programs look perfect.

The sound quality is great as well. I have noticed that video game consoles tend to be louder than regular TV programs, but it's not a problem, I just turn it down a bit.

I love the ability to switch to a channel without having to change input from playing a video game, it's one less button to push. The remote for it is much better than any remote I have used for a TV in the past. Navigating through the TV menus is easy too.

Video games play great on it, it gives wonderful sound with no noticeable visual or audio lag.

Overall I definitely recommend this TV, it is very high quality, and I have never had any problems with it.

Great TV for the money

Would be 5 stars if the sound was better. We did as recommended by other reviewers and bought a cable to hook up to a stereo. This is our first upgrade from the old school set and it is a delight.

Very Pleased

I was very pleased when my new Panasonic tv was delivered. I had paid a low 379 dollars for it and there were no shipping charges. I like the appearance of the tv. It is shiny and sleek looking. The picture quality is excellent even without HD. The remote is very responsive and easy to use. The sound is fine. I don't have the problem with it that some have stated in their reviews. I would highly recommend a purchase of this tv.

Best 32" LCD for the money

My only regret is not buying 2 of them while they were still in production. This is a great set, picture, features, design. Its light and bright and has all the inputs you need. I dont understand Panasonic, they have such a winner on their hands here, they should have produced this series much longer, the current model does not compare, this is the real deal.

Very nice flat screen

I will admit to not being a pro but I did do my research when buying this product. After seeing positive reviews in Consumer Reports and Amazon I decided to take the plunge. Two big fears in buying a flat screen have not been an issue with this product. Volume and audio quality has not been an issue. Again I am not a crazy audiophile but I notice no tinniness or other signs of crappy sound. The viewing angle was also important us as we have the TV in a room with a wraparound couch. No problems here either, you can see the screen clearly as along as you can see the screen.

I need advice about this item!

This is my first experience with not only an HD TV but with a screen having the ratio this one has. When I have a DVD with a wide-screen presentation, especially an opera or foreign film, subtitles are a must. Now subtitles appear in two ways in a wide screen DVD format: (1) all the words are within the picture itself or (2) all or some of the words are in the black area below the picture.

When I choose the 4:3 screen size on this Panasonic HD TV, the subtitles are just fine now matter where they are. But when I fill the screen with the picture, where the picture goes from top to bottom, any subtitles under the picture disappear completely.

I am told by my dealer that this is a problem with all flat, widescreen TVs now, because they were designed with no thought of DVD subtitles at all.

So the advice I need is this: is there any way to get a compromise setting to show the full screen with subtitles; or is this simply a defect in this model--or in all other HD TV sets?

I thank in advance anyone who could help me.

Incredible deal, Amazon!!

I purchased this as an Amazon Gold Box deal for $380 shipped back in February. At that price, I figured there had to be a catch. Four months later, I still can't believe what a great TV this has been! I can certainly understand peoples' complaints about the speakers not projecting well, but I have my TV hooked up to a 25-year-old stereo receiver via headphone-to-RCA cable and so don't even notice. I guess the lack of analog/ RCA audio output is a little annoying, but the headphone jack works perfectly fine. I also have my computer connected via DVI-to-HDMI cable, which allows me to display almost the full 1920x1080 resolution. I also have a Philips DVP3962 1080i upconverting DVD player connected via HDMI, and all of my standard definition movies look great. The glossy, black finish does catch dust pretty easily, but I suppose that's not exactly unique to this TV. Clear QAM would have been a nice feature as well, but for the price and quality, I really cannot complain!
