Reviews of LG 32LH30 from Amazon.com

Now we want to replace our other TV!

Arrived almost before we finished ordering it! Easy to set up (attach base, plug in power and cable) and we were all set. Option to manually or automatically program. We chose the auto. LG is simply great!

Love my HD

Couldn't be more pleased. Great picture, great sound. Perfect size for smaller family room

Stylish and perfect

First, I am feeling cheated right now, since I paid over [...] for this TV around a few months back. On the other hand, there is a lot of positive things about this TV which I really appreciate.

1. The picture quality is just amazing. It really has a enriched color display and your experience with sports will probably be awesome.

2. The sound quality is not the best I can get, but it is really close to perfection and I would still rate it 5.

3. The body has a rich color and is perfect and is stylish.

4. When viewed from various angles, there is very little depreciation of real output and a few faded spots do appear. On a comparison with other models, this is very minimal. Also, you would be viewing from a good distance, which voids the issue. We also use the swivel when you hook it up for games.

5. I have it connected with DVD players and it is awesome so far. Very satisfied with picture quality.

I kind of wish I have a bigger screen though. I saw this 37" 1080p [...]which is also glossy black at a local store and is just a [...] extra.

It depends on your viewing distance and how far your sofa is from the television. With 1080p and a deep discount, I would call this a deal!!

Excellent Economy HDTV

The LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p replaced a 720p 32 inch Samsung which I returned because of erratic sound quality. The LG provides a very clear picture for upscaled DVD movies and over the air digital signals. The speakers provide excellent sound for a small living room although the addition of a home theater system would substantially increase movie enjoyment. Standard definition signals also reproduce a stable clear picture. Colors are very good and the set provides sufficient tools to tweak the picture for personal preference. I have not used it for bluray as yet but HD from satellite is very good. The features of this unit described on the Amazon specifications list accurately describe its features and can be relied upon. I am not a hard core cinema/video buff but I cannot imagine that this unit will not satisfy most viewers who want a well priced midsized flat screen high definition TV. My five stars are based upon what I expect in similarly designed and priced units for a smaller room.

Making a case for LG; amazing tv.

LG does'nt get enough praise.

Just bought this TV for the sake of it being an IPS panel and for its apparent adjustability (and also 1080p). Plus this tv is so easy to calibrate; the 'picture wizard' is extremely helpful.

The amount of menu options is jaw-dropping, as is the style of the set. The LH40 model looks neat with the plastic square along the bottom of the panel, but I like the more minimalist look of the LH30, and I do not like the 120hz or the $100 price jump of the LH40.

I made a comparison to my sony 32M4000 (which I have now given to my father) and there are some interesting differences (many are polar opposites):

-The sound is far superior on the LG.

-Black levels are very close, sony's is a bit deeper and maintains black colors better at angles.

-The whiteness of whites is slightly better on the sony, but colors and mid tones definitely have more of a 'punchy' factor on the LG.

-Color is amazing; rich and saturated; best ive seen on any LCD, period.

-Color does not wash out at all from different angles, only very dark colors and black tend to become discolored (blue or red depending on the angle).

-Of course there are far, far fewer picture options on the sony.

-My sony has a ghosting problem with dark colors, not so on the LG; motion blur and lag is also reduced too.

-OTA HD channels look decent enough, not as sharp as the sony, but the better color makes up for it imo.

What was the main factor that made me get this LG?..its S-IPS panel.

Samsung is an excellent maker of lcds, but I steered clear of them this time, as buying a tv from them is like playing the lottery. They use 3 different panels with differing levels of color and contrast quality; you are not essentially getting what you pay for:

You may get Samsung's own S-PVA panel, the best quality (if you're lucky).

An A-MVA panel from Taiwan's AUO (a notch worse than S-PVA).

Chinese company Chi Mei's S-MVA panel (worst of the three).

Panasonics IPS Alpha panels are decent, but on some panels dark colors appear far too blue from different angles.

That narrows it down to LG's S-IPS panel; its color saturation, vividness, and response time are worth the slight sacrifice in contrast and black depth (at least in my opinion).

This tv is not perfect, however; I spotted 3 dead pixels right out of the box (2 bright, 1 dark), right around the middle of the screen. They are practically invisible without being a foot from the screen and looking hard for them, however.

Viewing angles demonstrate some darkening of the picture, but its not too bothersome (swivel stand helps).

No other flaws I can think of at the moment, I recommend this tv!

My calibration settings use color adjustments from cnet.com along with some of my own tweaks, try them out!

Great Inexpensive LCD HDTV

Great deal for what I paid.... This is THE HDTV to get if you are on a budget. The only thing I don't like is no Audio Out.
(October 20, 2009)

Price and Features, this is the best you can find

To Compare its features and the price it is the best 32 inch LCD TV I can find. I did read a few different 32-Inch specs and user menus. Samsung and Sharp (I do not remember what modles) are better than this one but about $300 higher. JVC (1080p at sam's club) about the same price (but $40 tax) and feature but this one has a better picture quality. Vizio has different modles and the picture quality none of them better than this one. I also compare LG32LH40 (120Hz) with this one about $100 higher but some reviews of LG32LH40 reporting few minor issues.

My new LCD HD TV

This TV replaced an old 24" analog TV. Been very pleased with it so far. Price and service was very good. I was skeptical about buying a TV online but had absolutely no problems. The TV picture quality is stunning especially for sporting events. It is the perfect size for a small living room. Would definitely recommend this TV.
(October 21, 2009)

Great TV

This TV is perfect! It fits great in larger or smaller wall-spaces! The picture and sound quality is as good as any other model without the expensive price tag.
(October 22, 2009)

Great TV

This TV took a total of 30 minutes to unpack, hook up, and run! What a beauty! Picture is excellent with loads of adjustments possible. Ok, the black's a little weak but not that bad. I have it in my bedroom hooked up to Dish Network. Considered Samsung 720p for more money but this one was a steal. LG makes a great product. Buy it, you won't be unhappy!

LG 32LH30 - Great Value & Picture

Having recently bought a 42" LG for my family room, when I decided to outfit my bedroom, I stuck with LG and I am glad I did. Although "conventional wisdom" says you don't need 1080P on a 32" set, I am glad I paid the small extra for it on this model.

Setup was a no-brainer, the picture is phenomenal, and I think LG is a far better value than similar sets from Samsung and others. Best about the LG models is the dizzying array of picture controls, so no matter your particular pleasure, you can be sure you'll find a setting you like, or ones you can modify to suit your tastes.

Although I have home theater also installed in the bedroom, I ran the HDMI cable from the cable box direct to the TV and for everyday TV viewing the sound is fine. But I ran optical from the cable box to the receiver, so when I want to watch a movie in Dolby 5.1, it's there.

Best 32" LCD on the Market

Very pleased with the LG 32LH30. Fantastic picture and sound quality in a beautiful glossy black frame. Before purchasing, compared this with other entry-level 1080p sets; almost purchased the Sony S series until I saw a side-by-side comparison. In my opinion, LG makes the best 32" LCD on the market. Only complaints are the poor layout of the remote control and no analog stereo outputs, but otherwise, a great product for the money. I'm now considering the larger LH90 series for the family room. And, thanks to Amazon for the quick service and on-time delivery.

LG 32LH30 aMaZiNg

i use this tv for xbox 360 only, with hdmi.
awesome picture quality, sound, and design.
the only reason i only game on this tv is because i have a bad cable provider with crappy quality and wouldnt waste it on such a nice tv.
but everything is great on this tv.
best picture quality of any tv i have had.
the only thing i dislike, is that when the tv is turned on, and not in any input modes, basically in like the home screen, i notice a very faint hum noise from the back of the tv. but as long as you are not a neat freak like me, you will notice it.

5 stars

perfect small tv

i like bought this for my bedroom to go at the foot of the bed, its he perfect size for that. the blue ray nd upscaled dvds are nice and crisp with none of the weird artifacts you get with the newer motion enhanced tvs. decent color in cinema mode. my only complaint is the few connections on the back and i can't figure out how to get sound out of the tv speakers when the source come through hdmi.

Great

Item was received within 24 hours of ordering! Super fast, and in good condition.
Is easy to assemble, and to operate.
Nice slim line model, modern and chique, and not heavy.
Good picture and sound quality.
(Note - website did not specify if power input could be 120-240 v or not, present cables are for 120 v only. Hope will be able to get new cable to use also in 240 v areas outside of the americas if needed.

Great TV

This is the best TV you could buy. The size is just right for my small den. The picture quality is absolutely fantastic. Very easy to use and set up. This is our second LG HDTV.(Other TV is 52 inches) The customer service is beyond words. I hesitated buying a television on line but the reviews made by other buyers convinced me to go for it. I am not sorry. Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon for YOUR great service also.

Okay, but not great

I purchased this TV from Amazon supplier Tiger Direct based on Amazon reviews in early November 2009. We have a two year old 32" Samsung HD LCD TV that we were moving to another room and the LG TV was purchased to replace to older TV. My wife and I both found the quality of the picture to be inferior to the Samsung. Moreover, the biggest problem with the LG TV was the deterioration in picture quality with viewing angle. The LG also seemed to have a slight problem keeping audio and video in sync on a few programs, somthing we had not noted in our other TVs (we have four flat panel TVs in all - only one is HD) Given the room we planned to place it in required a wide viewing angle, we returned the TV.
(November 20, 2009)

Utilitarian - A good Thing

Bought it because I considered it the best value among 32 inch LCDs. Am quite satisfied.

The LG 32LH30 is a solid, no fuss, TV that delivers a good picture with excellent sound clarity for speech. With non-HD satellite as input, have not noted significant image blurring on sports programs. That is, players and balls always appear as solid, clear images. On other programs, such as newscasts, faces of commentators are sometimes soft when they move their head or the camera angle changes. Color is quite natural and consistent, aided by good contrast. Was easy to set up and configure. Nicely done stand. One can swivel and tilt the set easily.

The one complaint is the inability to size the image as I would like. The options provide for a smaller image than the screen size - the picture is a smaller rectangle surrounded by a lot of black (like 24 inch inside a 32 inch area), a full screen with `squished' vertical and elongated horizontal, or, using the zoom setting, a full screen that cuts of maybe an inch or two of the picture at the top and bottom - you don't see much of the crawl, if any, at the bottom or the score box shown at the top of a sports program.

LG 32LH30

Purchased this item after reading reviews from [...] and comparisons from other Manufacturers....found this to be the best value. I feel i have made a good choice for our bedroom TV. 1080p with directv on Planet earth is awesome. Now I would rather watch my shows in the bedroom than our Sharp Aquos 720p in the living room.

LG - LH30

Great LCD TV. Very impressed with the shipping and the quality of the product. Right from the box to my bedroom and was setup and running within 15 minutes. Picture is great! Great television for a bedroom.

Great TV

After a lot of research for a new bedroom tv, I purchased this LG and couldn't be happier. Out-of-the-box perfect, easy to setup and an amazing picture with tons of features. This is the second LG TV we recently purchased and I'm sure it won't be the last!

LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD

I purchased this product from Tiger Direct for $449 in late November and once plugged in I was totally amazed at the picture quality and ease of operation. The menu bar is so easy to work with that a two-year old can adjust it easily. I have read some reviews complaining about the picture skipping. All you need to do is press the menu bar, go to picture and click the picture wizard, problem solved. Much better than the Sony I have in my bedroom. I recommend this to anyone. Make sure to get a HD box to get the full vividness of this amazing TV. I am stunned.

Latest Revision not for the better (audio/video sync, panel type)

Buyer be warned, some of the specifications of this particular TV model have changed in just the last couple of months.

Change #1: The panel is no longer an S-IPS panel. After November 2009, all revisions now have a TFT panel. The result is that the color depth you will see is 8-bit versus the 10-bit with the S-IPS panel. LG, and most TV manufacturers, are not required to announce a change in the design or specifications of their models. To be fair, the picture quality is still very good, in my opinion, and the number of tweaks available to adjust the display settings are similar to those that you would find in a very high-end TV.

Change #2: Yes, the audio/video sync issues are in full-effect. It only occurs over HDMI...but then that's one of the main points of buying a HD-TV, no? On some HD stations, the sync issue is not that noticeable. On others, especially movie channels like TNT HD, you will find a 1-2 second audio delay. I tried to correct this issue via the service menu but did not notice any improvement.

Apparently LG has a software fix for this issue; I called and scheduled an appointment to have a technician apply the software fix. I hope this remedies the audio/video sync problem as otherwise I will have to return this TV.

Overall, it's still a good TV, and hopefully LG will release a newer batch VERY SOON with the updated software fix. Otherwise, it is something that can be remedied, and you might not notice it at all. Just be aware of what you're getting into.

Also note that OneCall says they do not offer returns for TV's over 20 inches...

A Great Buy!

This is a smart buy if you can get a great price like I did... Even if you pay a little more, its still worth the money...

The picture is very clear with nice blacks and even looks good in standard mode, the speakers are surprisingly of good quality, and the assembly is so easy you could do it in five minutes or less...

My only complaint is that there is no headphone jack or analog audio out so I could not hook up my external speakers, (there is an optical digital audio out), but since the sound from the built in speakers is good I find myself quickly getting over it whenever I watch a movie or play a game, (And I am a pretty picky person when it comes to sound)...

The gloss finish is beautiful but does attract dust... However, LG was nice enough to include a dust cleaning cloth with the package so that takes care of that problem...

Navigating the menus and the layout of the remote are pretty pleasing, so there should be no problem there for most people...

This is worth the money and a very smart buy for a 32 inch tv and if you can get over not being able to hook up external speakers easily with analog sound then you will be very, very happy with this choice...

LG what an experience!

Here I go again with a review of the LG LH30 32 inch 1080P LCD TV.
I have seen and used alot of brands like Pioneer Elite Plasmas, Sony LCD, Samsung DLP and Mitsubishi DLP.
Well I have to say that the LG stands out the most for the amazing price of $524.
The Picture quality is second to none, it is the BEST 32 inch LCD I have ever used or seen.
I use the LG for Videogames (XBOX 360 and PS3) @ 1080P and for movies via Bluray and DVD.
The games look very vivid and natural, especially games like Resident Evil 5, Uncharted 2, and Gears of War I and II.
Very satisfied with the videogames on this TV.

For movies I use a Sony BDP-S350 Bluray player @ 1080P and a Denon DVD-955S Universal DVD Player.
The Bluray's look amazing eventhough I will upgrade my Sony to a Denon or Marantz shortly.
But I was very impressed with the DVD's via Denon 955S because the TV I used before was nothing like the LG.
Of course for getting this amazing picture from DVD's I can mainly thank LG and Denon for the performance I got.
The Contrast on this TV is sure amazing because I have not seen blacks like this before on any 32 inch LCD.
I seriously believe that LG is right up there with the Pioneer Elite TV's which sadly are no longer being made.

The look of the LG is extraordinary, very nice Piano Black sides and a very nice chrome bar on the bottom which has an LED light on the right hand side, it glows dark red when the TV is in sleep mode and a very nice dark blue when the TV is on.

The Energy saving feature is great you can adjust how much energy you want the TV to save and the sound is very good, eventhough I am using seperate speakers and subwoofer for my sound. I still cannot believe the performance and look of this TV.
LG did something that Sony and Vizio should learn to master.

I also believe Samsung and LG are the top TV's no matter what size.

I highly recommend this TV to anyone who wants the best for an amazing price.
Do yourself a favor and buy an LG, I sure will only buy LG from now on.
Thank You LG for making Life Good.

ATSC Reception Excellent

For those of you connecting directly to an antenna, LG delivers. I was very concerned buying a new TV for my mom who is using a good inside antenna. She lives about 7-10 miles from transmitters in Philadelphia with lots of hills and multipath interference. She was using a "government free" converter box that had LG receiver chips. LG receiver chips are the best so I was hoping that LG used their own receivers on their TV. This LG TV does at least as well as the box with 38 channels.

I have no idea how other TVs compare - doesn't seem like anyone rates ATSC performance so I'd stick with LG.
(December 09, 2009)

Love My LG :)

This is my first flat screen and was hesitant to buy since my old clunker worked just fine. The price was too good to pass up. This TV is easy to use and fits perfectly in my small living room. Pulled it out of the box and set it up in no time. Simple!! Clarity is much better than expected and sound quality is great. The menus are easy to scroll through. I love watching my shows on my new, big, colorful screen. Definitely worth the purchase! Not sure how I lived without it!
(December 19, 2009)

Happy with TV, but not the price

I purchased the LG one week ago, and I am pleased with this TV. Picture is quite sharp, and the sound quality is excellent for such a small set. In addition, I am able to easily attach my computer using the HDMI connection in order to stream Netflix videos, somthing that never seemed to work properly on my prior TV, even though that one also had an HDMI connection.

However, I was disappointed to see that just one week after purchasing the TV from Amazon for $524, the same TV was advertised in Best Buy for only $479. I now feel quite foolish for having paid so much more than what is apparently the street price for this set. I purchase products from Amazon due to their good reputation as well as low price, and I don't always expect to get the absolute lowest price, but in this case, the variance in price is quite high, and it is apparent I overpaid. I will have to do more price comparison shopping in any future Amazon purchases, which I can do, but it is time consuming and I would prefer to shop at a place where I know that I am getting, if not the lowest price, at least a competitive price without having to check 30 different websites first.

Great TV

Bought this TV to replace a 32" 720p HD that was about 4 yrs old. Extremely easy to set up. Worked perfectly, great picture. Great price!
(December 21, 2009)

Color Monitoring

I purchased the LG32LH30 TV to use with Final Cut Pro software and an Matrox mini to monitor NTSC video color output while editing in FCP. The LG was selected for its 1:1 pixel capability, it rich color adjustment features and price. The picture quality head-on is excellent, but it quickly becomes brighter and losses color quality when viewed from even a small side angle. I have to make a point to be directly in front of the LCD when making color adjustments. This could be a issue if used as a TV. It is a good value for the price.
(December 22, 2009)

Very Happy With This TV.

What initially drew me to this TV was the price. The TV at the time was under 500 hundred dollars, no tax, and free shipping. I was relatively hesitant to purchase a TV online since I could not compare and contrast without going to a store and finding similar if not same models.

I am very happy with the purchase. LG HDTV's have great contrast and the color seems to "pop" more than other brands. With an HDMI cable and a PS3, the visuals get down right beautiful. There are obviously much much much better HDTV's on the market but this is the one that caught my eye because it has plenty of value behind it. 32" is the perfect size for my living room since I sit only 5-6 feet away from it.

I would recommend this TV to anyone. The packaging was good, no dings, dents, tears, scuffs, etc. The TV came out pristine.
(December 24, 2009)

Value for the Money

I had a specific entertainment cabinet to fill in my gameroom, so I did quite a bit of research on 32" 1080p HDTV's. I found that this model from LG both fit my size and budgetary needs. It was very easy to set up, but I would recommend that you purchase a set of HDMI cables (one for cable/satellite and another for blueray/dvd player). This set has a very simple menu options for picture quality, sound options and input selections. The only nit I could pick is that the picture tends to be rather dark and this is after I've played with both manual and preset display options. I'm sure that there are higher quality options out there, but if you're looking to save a couple hundred bucks, this is the way to go in my opinion.
(December 25, 2009)

Love it!

We love our LG TV. The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating instead of a 5-star rating is that the menu is a bit confusing for someone like me who is NOT obsessed with every technical aspect of AV equipment and, therefore, doesn't know what everything means. There needs to be some dumbing down of the manual as well.

But the picture and sound are great. I have no idea what these people are talking about who say they can see some weirdness with a couple of the pixels and bleeding/fading around the edges of the picture in a dark room. If you have a LIFE, then you'll enjoy the heck out of this TV. For those of you who think sitting in a dark room playing video games or watching movies all day and night is living, well...

Late last night I couldn't get a picture...only sound. I called the cable people and they said it was the TV. I held for an hour for help from the LG 800 number. When the guy got on the line, he was very apologetic and extremely helpful. (Apparently, their system went down and I was just stubborn enough to stay on the line.) He explained that it was the cable and waited on the phone while I ran the cable directly into the TV to make sure. Then I called the cable people back and it took another half-hour to do all the tests they wanted me to do in order to prove to them it was the cable box, NOT the TV. So their customer service is good as long as their system doesn't crash and you have to wait forever.

Amazon gave us a great price and with Prime Shipping, it was here in two days FREE. I know, Prime memberships cost $, but I've more than made up for that membership fee by having my son's textbooks sent to them for free as well as many Christmas presents, etc.

We also got a LG Blu-ray DVD player for Christmas. It seems to be terrific as well. Kudos LG. I'm happy with my LG cell phone, so decided on the LG TV. Glad I did!
(December 28, 2009)

Tremendous TV for a small room. LG movin on up like the Jeffersons!

Pros:
-Superb picture quality
-Beautifully designed (Piano black looks great!)
-low def signals look better than on my previous HDTV

Cons:
-Initial picture set up was tedious
-Not much bass in audio

I've owned this TV for two months. It's the first TV I've purchased online (Don't tell Amazon but I got it from another website.....Sorry Amazon, I still love you!).

This is easily the best TV I've owned. It's the second HDTV I've owned. For the money you just can't do better. However, I should have gotten a larger screen for my large den but that's not the TV's fault (entertainment center couldn't hold a bigger TV).

I use the TV for watching blu-ray movies, playing PS3 games, and watching Standard-Def Satellite TV.

Out of the box it took me a while to get the picture set up. There were so many settings I wasn't familiar with. However, I think my time spent with the settings was worth it. As I mentioned above the picture quality is superb.

Picture quality is beautiful when watching blu-ray movies or playing PS3. This TV does a great job making my standard definition satellite signal look good (took some time playing with settings).

One excellent feature is that it saves your picture settings for each input. This is useful because once you have picture set for each input it automatically adjusts when you switch between inputs. My previous TV did not have this.

The audio is ok. In summary, the sound is very clear but lacks deep bass.

As I said earlier I should have gotten a larger screen. Because of my long viewing distance from couch to screen it's difficult to appreciate the additional detail of 1080p over 720p (my previous 32" HDTV was Insignia 720p). When close to the TV the detail is absolutely incredible.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone needing a great HDTV in a small room. This was my first LG purchase and I'm very satisfied with this product's quality. LG is definitely catching up to Samsung which I believe to be the best.

I got a bad one...

Before we bought a 1080p screen, I wanted my wife to see the difference between the 60 and 120 hz 1080's. She thought the 120 hz ruined the "movie" look of films(it looks too real). We went with this LG 32LH30 because it fit within our budget and size restrictions for our living room setup.

When we got it home and removed the tv from the box, we noticed cat or dog hair clinging on the unit. We do not have pets-or have ever had an animal in the house. We carefully brushed off what he could.

We attached our blu-ray player to HDMI port 3. We turned it on and tried our blu-ray player first. The picture was amazing just using the factory settings right out of the box. We couldn't be happier.

We attached our our current cable box (analog until it can get switched to HD) to the AV1 (RCA Yellow video, left, right audio) import. The TV did not recognize the RCA video signal on its AV1 import. I thought maybe it was the cable box or cord, so i tried a video game system with a different cord in the same inputs, but it couldn't recognize that video signal either. I plugged the cable box in again and the screen popped up a message saying that it detected a new signal. The analog cable worked. Yay. We went to dinner.

When we came back from dinner, we turned on the tv and the picture (both HDMI and AV1) was noticeably darker. We thought maybe the bulb needed time to warm up, so we gave it 1/2 hour to warm up. The screen was still dark. I adjusted every color setting on the set to as bright as it could go, but the picture stayed dark. Our cable box and blu-ray menu screens were too dark to read. The next morning we turned the tv back on, and the picture was getting even darker. It had been less than 24 hours since we bought the tv.

We also noticed that there was a slight, but noticeable image burn on the edges of 4:3 content would be displayed.

We returned the tv and swapped it for a new one. The AV1 recognized my cable box from the start, and the "input" source selection menu shows connected inputs in color now. So far, the picture has been good, but I'm still nervous everytime I turn it on.

Great buy for a 1080p TV

A great buy for a 1080p TV. This TV has tons of features to adjust the picture. The picture wizard didn't do much for me, but the expert menus are great. Each input on the TV has its own picture settings, which is both a blessing and a curse. Blacks could be deeper (especially at angles), but can be enhanced significantly with the proper settings. Despite reviews that I've read, I think blacks are actually superior to most LCD TVs in its class when set correctly. No dead or stuck pixels. My only gripe is that there are some uniformity issues. There are some very faint vertical bars across the LCD where the image is slightly darker. These are only really visible out of the corner of your eye during scenes with moving backgrounds. They're mostly visible with blue hues and when viewing from off-angles.

I don't have a Blu-ray player yet, but DVDs look fantastic through HDMI. I appreciated the array of appropriate options for aspect ratio and display. SD TV is rather ugly, but that's to be expected. That said, there is a noise reduction feature which cleans up the SD signals very nicely. Hooked up the Wii through component cables at 480p--looks nice. I also love the fact that I can hook it up to my laptop and make use of every last 1080p pixel. There is an auto-adjustment feature in the picture menu that can align your VGA output to fit the TV if it comes up off-center at first. One gripe here is that the TV doesn't seem to auto-detect my VGA connection like it does with HDMI, component, etc... you have to manually use the directional arrows to select VGA from the input menu. It works, even though it appears to be grayed out.

Overall, the menus are very logical and easy to use. I was especially happy (and surprised) by the simplicity of the remote control, and the directional keys have a nice feel to them. Switching between inputs is a breeze, and the ability to add labels to the inputs in the selection menu (appropriate pictorial representations included) is a great feature. I love that it detects which inputs have something plugged in and lists them first. It's so easy the rest of my family can actually use it without having to call me to help ;)

Sound seems very good for a flat-panel. It has good clarity and surprisingly deep bass. The bass doesn't cause the set to rattle at all, which is a plus. It's nothing awe-inspiring, but it sounded better than most of the other brands at the store.

It's also a beauty, design-wise. Assuming it continues to be reliable, I highly recommend it.

Best in Class for This Size and Price

After tons of research I decided on this maker and model and I love this TV. I agree with other reviewers that the blacks are not as black as they could be but most LCD's in this size category have the same issue. It has not diminished my satisfaction.

PROS
Excellent picture quality
Vivid colors without being over saturated
No noticeable blurring or pixelation
Blue Ray Movies in 1080 look incredible
SUPER simple setup. When you first turn it on, it automatically guides you thru the setup...(no manual needed here)
We have basic cable and the autoscan found over 40 channels I never knew we had (music and HD)
Excellent on screen menus that make adjusting picture, sleep mode, etc. easy (within days you can access without even looking at the remote)
Everything on it feels solid, no jiggly buttons or inferior feel, even the remote is well made
Excellent styling. This unit is just nice to look at. Smooth lines, clean and modern.

CONS
Ability to produce deep blacks as stated above
Nearly all TV's regardless of what you spend have weak stock speakers so I rate sound as good but not great. Fine for TV, get external speakers for movies.

All in all this is high value: A great 32" 1080P LCD for under $500. All other models in the sub-$500/$400 category come with sacrifices (some serious).

Wow

Wow. I am so pleased with this purchase. Not only is the product I purchased everything that it was supposed to be, the purchase through Amazon Prime was flawless. My wife and I both agree that all other purchases will be through Amazon Prime. $3.99 for overnight shipping is unbelievable but true. Ordered this TV at noon on Wednesday and FedX was at my door Thursday at 4 pm. Unit was delivered in perfect condition and worked right out of box. This was the second TV we purchased. The first one taking 10 days to get here and when it arrived it didn't work. There was some anxious moments when attempts to contact [...] were futile. They only list an email address for returns. In all fairness to them they did send me an RMA for the return of the defective TV. Can't go wrong if looking for a bedroom TV with the LG product. Highly recommend Amazon Prime for internet shopping.
(January 10, 2010)

Great Value

I have never bought a TV and I think I read every review on the internet before deciding on this one. I compared the same TV at BB and other sites and Amazon was the best deal. I signed up for Amazon Prime when ordering this TV and got it extremely fast. Nothing was wrong with the packaging, not even a dent on the box! It was very easy to set up and the picture wizard was excellent. I have HD channels and a Blueray player so the 1080p is great!
(January 12, 2010)

So easy to use, right out of box

I don't know anything about hooking up electronics or calibrating TV's, but this was just TOO easy. I had made arrangements with a friend of mine to come over and make adjustments, but once I got the TV plugged in and the HDMI's hooked up, then selected the Home viewing mode (as opposed to Store), there really wasn't a need to do any calibrating. At frist, I had difficulty with the picture when watching DVD's (white flecks), but it turns out it was just a bad HDMI cable. The sound is great, as far as I can tell. Awesome volume on it. This is my first foray into HDTV's, so I don't have much to compare it to. But the picture is crisp and I haven't noticed any blurring when watching football. I'm just so relieved to have picked such a great TV on my first try, but the reviews on this one were so good, and I got a great price. I will definitely look into other LG's when I need a new TV for the living room.
(January 14, 2010)

I love this TV!

I love this TV!!! I got this as a second TV after I rewired my house with 75-ohm because I had to get a new antenna (a giant Winegard antenna with a 14-foot boom in my attic) after the transition to digital. At this time I use it only for OTA digital signal. It is so sharp and clear and beautiful I just love it. I have no complaints. Its tuner is strong (apparently stronger than that on a major competitor's TV I bought 18 months earlier) and the controls are easy to use. I find myself watching ridiculous things that no normal person would watch simply because the picture is so incredible. The blades of grass on a live golf broadcast are hypnotizing, mesmerizing, captivating.
(January 20, 2010)

So far so good

Ordered this TV at the end of December and, after one month, we are very happy with it. For context, my wife and I are not terribly sophisticated (or enthusiastic) users of electronics, we don't use a gaming system, and we aren't big sports buffs. We watch a lot of movies and probably more TV than we should--mostly sitcoms and some sports. So we were looking for the least expensive 32", 1080p LCD set from a "reputable brand"--e.g. LG, Panasonic, Samsung & Sony. One month in we are completely satisfied.

As for particulars, we have no complaints about the image quality, we run the audio through our receiver, so I can't really attest to the audio, and setting up the TV was quick and easy. Aesthetically I consider the set to be on the nice looking side of average. Maybe not as cool as the new Samsung LEDs, but still nice to look at. My only reservation is that (I think) you need to install a bracket in the wall to mount it.

People who are super-serious about home entertainment should probably check out other reviews, but for those of you are just looking for a straightforward flatscreen that covers the basics, I highly recommend this set.

p.s. Bought the set using a trial membership to Amazon Prime, so it was delivered next day for $4. A nice option that's worth looking into, just remember to cancel that Prime membership if you don't want to pay the $79 annual fee.

Great TV, surpassed expectations!

It is a 32 inch TV so I wasn't looking for anything Amazing!! I wanted it for the bedroom and didn't have high expectations, just wanted a halfway decent TV. Turns out that this TV is great! Picture quality is very good! Settings in the menu were quite a surprise. Picture is Highly customizable. Though I do have to add that the Picture Wizard feature worked great for me. I'm sure that there are those who want to fine tune it their self but the Picture Wizard was fairly quick and optimized the picture to my liking. The Invisable speakers system actually sounds pretty good as far as TV speakers go. It is made up of things called "exciters" that attach to the thin frame around the TV on the inside and, in essense, cause the frame to become the speaker. At least that is what I read online after some pretty detailed searching. It wasn't easy to find out EXACTLY how the speaker system worked. I believe it was an LG asian site that had the diagram on how it worked. Anyways they sound OK for a TV speaker. I recommend this TV, exellent picture!! I don't think you will be disappointed.

Great TV, Even better price

After spending numerous hrs online, Best Buy and Fry's, decided on 32LH30. I was debating between this tv and Samsung LN32B550 to replace a Samsung LN32B540 (720p). I've had the samsung 720p a few days and picture quality is excellent except it's not 1080p. The main purpose of this TV will be as a 2nd computer monitor, the other is a 23" LG W2353V.

Went to bestbuy and compared image quality, it seem identical, but TVs were not side by side.
Fry's actually has both the Samsung 550 and LG H30 side by side so you can do a nice comparison. Samsung has deeper blacks. The LGs seem more on the green/gray side when compared only to the Samsung.

I played a bit with the settings but couldnt replicate the blacks produced by Samsung. However all other colors are almost if not identical to the samsung (GREAT!!!). At Fry's they were playing iRobot this is where the black levels are noticeable, the TVs were also playing some HD landscape content and here it really becomes a coin toss between Samsung and LG. Some scenes look better on LG others on Samsung. I dont think you can go wrong with either set. However you will pay a little more for the Samsung, I do have a slight preference to the Samsung bezel though. I figure since I'm already using another LG screen this will compliment it well.

LG is a clear winner on price. LH30 $450, Samsung 550 is $650
However if your looking for a bigger TV run to your local Fry's...
LG42LH40 $547 and the 47" for a few $$ more (website shows higher prices)

Too bad 42" is a little too big as computer screen since I sit about 2 feet away

Best 1080p 60Hz HDTV in its class. Hands Down

BEFORE BUYING THIS TV....

I've been doing research on HDTVs for about a year. My new hobby now is high quality entertainment and wanted to get the best TV for quailty picture and price. LG is a great company with beautiful quality that produces very detailed color and picture. I knew this because my girl friend's parents have a 32" LG 720p in their family room which kind of inspired me to go with LG. Picture is much cleaner and more clear than most TV's I've seen for under $600 at bestbuy.

For the most part, I love Baseball and watching the team with the best fans and best city to play in, the Chicago Cubs. I try to watch almost every game along with the Chicago Blackhawks from time to time. PlayStation 3 is another hobby of mine. And have been playing and watching on a Tube my whole life, currently was running off a 23" Symphonic tube TV. Like I mentioned, I love the PS3 and have been playing since 1998 PSOne and accustomed to the controller. Love the 1080p blu-ray feature and the stunning blu-ray graphics processed by the Cell chip. But I was getting nowhere near the quality and picture I should be getting. I knew i had to upgrade, as time went on the tube tv became more pathetic day by day, "What am I looking at!?!?!"

The day the HDTV came, 01/21/10, WHAT TO EXPECT....

Holy cow!!! This HDTV came fast and a HUGE beautiful box. 32" was bigger than I expected but really is the best size tv for my small room. Any bigger or smaller would not make me as satisfied as I am already. I went from a 23" tube Symphonic to 32" LG 1080p 60Hz with a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 which has amazing black details. Since the TV is running at only 60Hz, the picture tends to almost skip/blur when imagies or the camera are moved across the screen quickly. But overall movements are only noticable if you really pay close attention and look for that sort of thing. On some of the slower shots and still frames, it's like looking through an F'in WINDOW. Blu-ray movies are absolutly mind blowing. Watching the DisneyNature film Earth in Blu-Ray was breath taking. You get a feeling of almost being there. I showed the family and they couldn't believe their eyes because they're still stuck on old, dead technology, and by that I mean Tube Televisions. I can't even look at a tube tv without seeing a bunch of lines going across and static it seems like. I feel bad for you tube tv owners. This HDTV has AMAZING picture/color quality for a great price. This is a $600 TV at bestbuy not including tax so you're looking at at least $650 at BestBuy. Going from a Tube to a HDTV is really a black and white difference. PlayStation 3 looks amazing, it's almost like upgrading my entire PS3, it's completely different and better in every way! I can go on and on about this TV. "Is it a TV or something better?" is a perfect mato for this TV.

My LG TV is GREAT!!!!!

this tv is great I recived it & intalled it right out of the box & is works wonderfully no problems & no damged pixels just a great tv
(January 30, 2010)

Nice picture, lack of output options, no program description

The TV's picture quality is excellent. And the tuner is excellent - actually pulling in a channel I didn't even know existed before. The sound quality is also nice.

I have 2 complaints (and if I'm missing something, please respond and let me know):

*There are about 50 ways to plug things *into* this tv, but there appears to be a single audio-out option - Optical out.

I have an older but perfectly adequate Sony stereo receiver with nice speakers and a powered subwoofer. It'd be really nice to run the audio from this TV into my stereo, but, unbelievably to me, there is only one way to do this: using an optical out cable. My stereo does not have an optical-in option.

So my 12 year old 19" TV had more options than this. I guess I'll never watch a movie again in surround sound with decent bass unless I manage to hook my DVD player up to my stereo directly. If I want audio from regular TV to come out of my stereo - totally out of luck.

I just can't believe they'd skip a simple RCA-cable audio-out.

*Complaint 2: With our $10 digital converter box we could see a program description and a "What's next" description as well, describing both how long the current show is and what is next up.

This TV, with its many bells and whistles doesn't even display this. Our $10 converter box beats this TV on that point. I feel like I have to be missing something because I just can't believe it, but I've gone thru every option I can find and pressed every button on the remote in every combination I can think of and still can't get more than very basic channel information to display.

(January 30, 2010)

Very nice little set.

This TV preforms very well although the lack of 120Hz or 240Hz is very apparent, more so even than I expected. My other set is a 46 inch Mitsubishi w/120Hz so maybe I'm just really used to that. But for the price and other features given on this set this is still a great TV!. I will say that if I were to do it again and this TV was available with an option to get the 120Hz processing and that option was $100.00 or less I would pay the extra.
(January 31, 2010)

excellent value

I bought this TV for the bedroom, have it connected to a DVD player and a Mac Mini for Netflix streaming with a DVI-HDMI cable using the input that allows for a separate audio connection. Not a high end TV set, but has very good image and ability to connect several sources at a low cost.
(February 01, 2010)

Good TV, but for the price GREAT TV

This TV was purchased to go into our basement and replace an old 36" Toshiba behemoth of a set. We use this area for working out, and have it wired for surround sound. This set is really nice, and for a 1080 with 50,000:1 contrast ratio, there wasn't another TV around that came for the price I got on Amazon ($389)!! That being said, I think that our 42" Panasonic Vierra has a better picture and more features. Also, I don't think that the sound on this LG is anything great - so I am happy that we have it hooked up to our surround system. All in all, I don't really think that you can beat this TV - great picture, good features and a great price tag!!

BTW - I decided to call a CS Rep at Crutchfield to discuss this set, and they gave it rave reviews, however they could not come down on their price ($550). He said that he doesn't know how Amazon sells their TV's so cheaply, but acknowledged that they would not price match with Amazon. I then went to Best Buy, who also said that although they do price-match, they do not with Amazon. I guess that Amazon is the right place to buy a good tv...
(February 02, 2010)

Great value, but beware, newer units are made with worse technology.

First off, this is my first LCD TV ever and I must say it is a really great unit. I originally bought it after doing research and discovering that LG used the coveted S-IPS panels in their TV's which offered very wide viewing angles and beautiful 10-bit color. However, after getting my TV home, it seemed a little different, so I did some more research and discovered that LG switched to MVA panels in SEPT '09 without informing it's customers. The MVA panel has a narrower viewing angle than the IPS and it only has 8-bit color. As a plus though, it has MUCH deeper black levels than the IPS and a lower price. Overall, the TV is still great, but I was disappointed because I expected to get an IPS panel. The CNET review no longer applies due to the new panel, so beware and be willing to try it out for yourself. (I doubt you'll be disappointed overall).

+ Great price for 1080p
+ 50,000:1 Dynamic contrast
+ 3 HDMI hooks
+ Fairly deep blacks
+ Nice menu system w/lots of settings
+ Swivel base

| Average Sound
| Very slightly noticable motion blur (worse for dark scenes in videogames)

- 8-bit color does not blow you away
- Only 1 Component hook
- No headphone jack
- Narrow viewing angle (color and black levels begin to wash out when viewed off-center)
(February 04, 2010)

nice set

Very nice set. I use this as a bedroom set and the picture and sound are really good. I don't like PicBridge too much and just keep it on default settings. Was trying to set up a laptop on it the other day but it has no S-Video input....you will have to use the SVGA and external speakers.
(February 06, 2010)

Excellent price/quality relation .

Very happy with this TV set and the price I paid for it. Also the delivery service was correct and very fast.

TV shipping extemely fast and was very easy to install. TV looks great and was the best deal out there. I highly recommend this TV.

This television is AWESOME! Color is fantastic and I bought a second one to use as a computer monitor.

I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quality picture! This product is worth its weight in gold.
(February 14, 2010)

Well worth the wait

Waited 3 years to get a new Tv. When this Tv came up at $100.00 less than Best Buy sale price i could not resist. 1080p at same cost as 720p in the stores what a deal. Great picture, good sound and easy set up. As a 1st LCD Tv i could not have made a better choice.
(February 15, 2010)

good

Did everything i wanted. I don't know what all the problems with hooking this up with the ps3 was all about. I bought Hdmi High Definition Multimedia Interface 6 Foot Cable for Playstation 3 Ps3 and it all worked out great. Blu Ray movies show up clear, games are smooth and general tv, well, i don't have the hdmi box, so it's in standard def. There are also power saver options and this thing that allows you to customize your tv for games, movies etc...Great Buy.
(February 18, 2010)

Excellent HD for the price

I bought this television about 4 months ago at about the same price. There really is not many televisions that can compare at this price range. The television has 3 hdmi inputs as well as several others for aux and hd 5-6 prong cables.

The picture is crisp, it will suffer from the quick action blur during some sporting events (i saw it a little in football) but at this price, its is a minimal issue. Before this tv, i owned a Samsung 1080i HD-tube tv and the difference is clear. If you want to have the crisp darks and grey scale, Samsung might be for you, but this picture performs best with colorful scenes. You can see a clear difference in color quality when watching baseball. Colors are just crisper on this LG. I am an avid gmaer and blu-ray watcher. The only qualm i have is the sound quality isn't anything special. With a blu-ray in the ps3, and using my hdmi cords, i have never had an issue with the sound. It is just watching cable or a regular dvd when i find myself turning the tv up substantially. The sound will be strong enough to give you a jolt during the action scenes tho. So, as i said, it isn't a major concern for me.

Unless you are looking at lcd or higher end names, this is a great tv for just about anyone.
(February 19, 2010)

Love it!

After a lot of searching, I settled on this TV from Amazon. I got a great price, fast shipping and no headaches. The picture is great especially in HD. I use it in the bedroom and couldn't be happier. I also purchased an extended warranty with squaretrade to insure it for a total of 3 years. The only negative is I wish it had an SVH plugin . Other than that, very happy.
(February 21, 2010)

Great Buy

Excellent TV. Paid $379.99 for a 32" 1080P LCD TV on Amazon's deal of the day, that's less than it would cost for a 720P. I went to price this TV at Best Buy. It was on sale ther for $549.99, normally $599.99. Setup was very easy and the picture is terrific. Good sound. I would recommend this TV very highly.
(February 22, 2010)

Awesome color and Brightness

This TV has awesome color and brightness. It has all the inputs you need and a hidden usb port that can be turned on (disabled by default). The 1080p resolution is perfect, and the size is perfect for any bedroom, small living room, or play room. The stand is elegant and the setup is pretty simple, but you can do some cool custom stuff if you need that.
(February 22, 2010)

I love this TV!

I would have purchased a larger tv if I wasn't limited to the size of really nice entertainment center I didn't want to "repurpose." I researched several brands for customer satisfaction and cost and got a great product in the LH30. I'm not a technology buff and I haven't hooked up any peripherals to it (I use a tv the old fashioned way - I watch what's on it and dvd's)so I can't comment on that. But for anyone who just wants an easy to use tv - the set-up menus are very user-friendly - I recommend it. The hd picture is fabulous!
(February 23, 2010)

Stylish, sleek and great picture.

The LG 32LH30 32 Inch LCD HDTV in high black gloss is beautiful. It is so stylish, sleek and easy to use. The colors are vivid and the picture is sharp and vibrant. The audio sound is clean and has excellent clarity. Setup was simple. I especially liked the feature that allows you to name the inputs you have connected, even shows a cute little animated picture of the item (ie: hand controller picture for a game). Since I also ordered the LG BD 370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player, syncing the items was a breeze and can be operated with one remote since they are both LG products.

The only negative thing I can say for this TV is that it only has one component input, I wish it had at least two. It does come with 2 AV and 3 HDMI inputs but I at least needed one more component input to set up my Wii in HD format. My cable box has a slot for an HDMI cable, but I kept receiving a an error message on the TV (something about HDVI) and the sound kept coming in and out. So I had to use the one component input for my cable box. If someone knows how I can get around this, please let me know in my comment section.

Other than what I stated above, this HDTV is a great buy. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable HDTV with great features and technology . It comes with a one labor and parts warranty.

(February 23, 2010)

My very old CRT's do just as well

While I can appreciate the ok picture, and I certainly appreciate the lightness of the weight of this 32" LG LCD, the 25" years-old CRT tv it replaced (from Ames, back when it was in business), has a better picture, and certainly did not have blur when things moved.
The LG was easy to set up, and programmed itself to work with the dish receiver just fine.
However, the first thing I noticed was that there was a blurring, of a bunch of small square shaped things, around anything that moves. That includes someone just moving their head. while they talk.
This is a "small" matter to a couple of other people who came over when I called them - apparently, this is a fairly small and "normal" thing for digital tvs. I did not see why I have to "get used to it." as they say I will do, as they think this is just a fairly small matter on the screen, compared to some they have seen.
I am still working on this, but no matter the setting, this persists.
Compared to the just-as-excellent picture my Chachong old crt tv has , which does not do this, I can't really find any reason to change to an LCD unless you have to.
I have ended up putting this in my sewing room, and keeping the 25" CRT where I watch more.

LG 32LH30

Ordered during one of Amazons "limited time" sales at a great price $379 free shipping. I had been watching the 32" LCD TV's for specials, they had a similar offer for the Samsung but after reading reviews I was convinced the Samsung shortcomings and it was dropped off the short list. As I own another Samsung and have never had any problems, I was dismayed to read all the bad press. Fortunately I also own another LG LCD TV that I am very happy with, so I was familiar with the general operation. First, the LG was delivered on time and inspection of the box revealed good condition. Installed the stand in minutes and although not needed, was pleased with the swivel operation, additionally the TV is much lighter than the same size Sharp it was replacing, making it a good candidate for ceiling or wall mount. After power up, I inspected and found zero dead pixels. After syncing the LG with the Cable box remote, I began the initial set up, which is an easy process to follow on screen. The LG remote is fairly basic and not as nice as our other LG Remote but really is a moot point since we use the Cable box remote 99% of the time. All the HD chanels colors were crisp, clear and brilliant, non-HD channels were acceptable. Blacks are close to perfect for me and much better than the Sharp. I did not experience the sound syncing problem that other reviewers noted. The level and range of adjustments available is great for those that like to tweak. I tried some adjustments which made the display near perfect even for my old eyes. Sound amplification is far superior to the Sharp and allows for adjustments to match to our room. Since we have seperate surround system the volume limitations some reviewers spoke of, were not as important to us. Response time seems much faster than the Sharp. Since this TV is viewed almost straight on, there is no issue with fading when viewing from a side angle. Personal reasons for this purchase (or justification to satisfy my wife) size 32" is the largest we can fit in the cabinet, (that is staying); 1080P; multiple adjustment parameters; volume amplification; Price$$ (lowest I found); Free shipping; good looking cabinet; multiple HDMI connections; used Amazon credit card which spreads payments over 6 months. I couldnt ask for much more and would highly recommend this product and Amazon.

WOW!

Great T.V.! The deal at amazon with this great product! WOW! I've had this t.v. for about a month now and all i can say is that for a t.v. worth under $500, damn great deal. a month before that, i bought a 52inch Sony xbr, it was pricey but compared to lg 32lh30, not much of a noticeable difference in picture quality except for a few lags and slight smoothness. I mean unless your a videofile, youd really notice it, but if you've just gotten home from a hard days work and want to unwind by watching a blue ray film or an HD tv program, hell, you will be satisfied! I love the invisible speakers and the sound quality is great! design wise, it's plain although the LED power display gives it a bit of a distinction and a hint of elegance. It lacks, the internet connections, net flicks, additional software, etc that the xbr has but hell, that's what a computer is for. I did hook up my laptop via hdmi cable to this T.V. and the movie quality as well as streaming was just as good. So overall, for the price amazon is offering (LG site has it at $649.99) it's a hell of a deal! you cant go wrong with this purchase, specially with the free delivery tops it all off! Go buy it at Amazon! they've been great so far!

Sound Sync

Love the TV, great picture, fabulous deal on Amazon. However, can anyone tell me why TV sound is not in sync with external speakers and TV 2 in another room? I am using a Dish HDTV receiver, cannot get sound to synchronize with LG32LH30. Any help will be greatly appreciated, really want to keep this TV.

great tv for the price and my use

i bought this tv for the bedroom. i think it is great. i know there are nicer tv's out there, but for a 32" tv, for a bedroom, i didn't have much reason to buy the nicest thing on the market. this tv is great, especially for the price. hd channels look great on it. the bedroom is a darker room and i mostly watch it at night, so i can't comment on the picture in a well lit space. sound quality seems fine for basic tv watching. a backlit remote would be great for watching in a dark room, but not a must. you get used to where the buttons are pretty quickly. i would reccomend this tv.

WRONG width on the specs listed on the page

this TV is NOT 31.5 inches wide but 32 inches!!...now for most people that means nothing but for me it is an exact measurement to have this fit into the armoire and close the doors! I do not want to look at a TV when I walk into my apartment. This is a replacement of a JVC that was alot smaller and alot more expensive that was 4 years old, so the only solution is to put it into the armoire at an ANGLE and close the doors..thank god I have the room or else I would have returned it...beautiful picture but I knew that from seeing a neighbor's LG that's much bigger but this one is newer than her's...I love the LG label..it is QUALITY ..I own a fridge/freezer & a microwave by LG

LG1080 32" flat screen tv

I have had this LG flat screen 32 inch 1080 HDTV for about a month and am finding it easy to use and with a great picture.
Unfortunately my condominium does not yet have high def, but I also bought a Blu-Ray player and can attest to the fabulous high definition picture that the LG television gives to BluRay discs.

Great for your second room

After working at best buy in the hometheater dept you develop a dorkishly fond interest in electronics. If you have a keen eye for quality or have OCD you will be distracted by the motion jutter on this TV. For example, "A bugs life" when they're cascading over the grass, the grass instead of being clear is all blurred.

Now REGARDLESS of what ever I just said if you can get this tv under four hundred bucks you are making a good purchase. You basically have to make a comprimise, price and it's purpose over quality. I have this tv for my bedroom and it's great. On the wall, stylish and serves it's purpose. I have a Sony XBR LCD in the main room and even though it's twice as large it still has a better picture.

It's funny I remember starting out looking for a 32 inch in the 3-4 hundred price range caught myself drifting into the 1000 to 1500 price range because you'll always find something better. Then I remembered I already have a main tv for viewing, and 3D technology as well as other technological advancements will be out before you know it and then you'll want another tv as well as already have the one you bought just been outdated. So if you want to fill the void now but loose less money when you decide to upgrade by xmas or sooner, choose this one or something like it.

I could've saved you from reading all this if I just put this up first: GREAT PRICE, GREAT LOOK, TERRIBLE 60hz motion. Then again you're probably not me like me and are not dorkishly into this stuff, so just get this tv! :)

Excellent TV for the price

I had been shopping for a new LCD TV and once this was the 'Deal of the DAy' in the Gold Box, I could not resist. The picture, sound and ease of the menus are fantastic. Highly recommended for the user that does not want to take a course on how to turn on the TV. Thanks Amazon.
(March 06, 2010)

A Great HDTV

After looking at the 32 inch LCD HDTV reviews at Amazon and other sellers, I decided to purchase this LG. It arrived quickly and safely via UPS. The picture is simply perfect on HD cable channels or the attached 1080i DVD/VCR, both connected via HDMI cables. In fact, the picture is superb on non-HD cable channels! Extensive comparison shopping showed that Amazon had the best price and super fast, free shipping!

If this weren't installed in our bedroom, I could be a little disappointed with the TV's limited viewing angle. If your situation requires a fairly wide viewing angle, I'd recommend another TV. Viewed from our bed, however, it is perfect - just what we wanted!
(March 08, 2010)

Awesome purchase!

I would reccomend this tv to anyone. We bought it to replace a dead one and we love it. It is the main television in our home and we watch local channels, movies, and sports. They all look great! I would definitly purchase it again!
(March 10, 2010)

You cant go wrong!!

I purchased this as a "Today's Deal" last month because I couldnt beat the price of $379! I looked at Best Buy for same product and it was $599! This is an awesome TV and would recommend it to anyone. I have a small living room and its perfect, anything bigger would over-dominate the room and my eyes! Its great for a small living room or even a bedroom.

A Sound TV Investment!

Just set my TV up this week. So easy it amazed me.

Like others, I'd researched TVs to death (for the last couple of years) and this was on my "short list". I waited for one of my preferred TVs to hit the price point I was willing to pay for it.

I'm not a fan of the shiny piano black edges on most HDTVs so, I was a bit put off as I unpacked this one and the edges seemed wider than I expected. However, once the TV was all set up, I decided that compromising on the edges was a small price to pay for getting everything else I truly needed, plus a few key items I wanted.

Primary selling points for me: the LG reputation; excellent professional and user reviews; technical specs; and especially (1) sound leveling (so the commercials don't blast me out of the room) and (2) a swivel stand, so I can swing it toward guest seating when I have company in the living room (instead of just me in my comfy recliner).

Happily, the remote control fits my hand nicely and seems easy to use. It also had a couple of other features I love and didn't expect: (1) a channel return button (labeled "flashback") which takes you back to the previous channel, so you can easily flip between two channels; and (2) a mode button which switches you from one input to another without having to go into the menu (e.g. from TV to DVR or Game mode).

The TV sits in a corner between two floor-to-ceiling windows. With the blinds open in bright sunshine, the picture was clear and distinct with vibrant colors.

Since others have commented extensively on the all the other important details, I'll sum up by saying:

If you're looking for an attractive, solid, basic HDTV with a good-excellent picture that's easy to set up and use ... go for it! At the price point we saw for the Gold Box special (under $400), this was a no brainer.
(March 11, 2010)

Love this TV

The TV was shipped very quickly and arrived in great shape. Set-up was a breeze and the picture is excellent. I would buy this agian.
(March 11, 2010)

Best bang for your buck!

Compared to other TVs at this price, this one is a treasure among trinkets. Most 32" flat-panels at this price are only 720p whereas this one is 1080p. Likewise, it's contrast ratio is much higher. The only negative thing I could say about it is that it only has the 60Hz refresh rate as opposed to the newer 120Hz and 240Hz technologies which eliminate a lot of motion blur. I would recommend this TV to anyone trying to balance quality with cost. Though if you have a higher budget, I'd definitely recommend opting for a more expensive one with 120Hz or 240Hz technology.
(March 12, 2010)

Great price for a spare-room TV!

I picked this TV up when it was around 50% off here and what an amazing buy! Great picture quality, great size for a bedroom or spare room and great price. It's very easy to set up and, as most TVs do now, it has a nice little interactive walk-through while getting started, which makes it easy for even those technologically challenged. In all, I wouldn't use this as a main living-room set (unless I were in a tiny living room...) but it is great for anywhere else!
(March 14, 2010)

I just ordered TV 3/12/10 and am worried after reading poor review

I was excited about buying this TV but someone just entered a very poor review about cheap parts, etc. last Friday. The majority of reviews are positive, any input? I have not recd shipment yet.
(March 15, 2010)

I think it rocks

There are some super nerdy types who give this TV a bad rating because they say it doesn't have a superior IPS panel. Dude, it's a $400 32" 1080p TV! It looks great, especially paired with a PS3 and Blu-Ray. The sound is far superior to my older Samsung 26". If you are looking for a quality 1080p set for a phenomenal price, this is it. If you are a type-A videophile, not the TV for you.

LG 32LH30

Wow! This TV is excellent. The picture is very clear and sharp. Comcast HD is beautiful! I bought this set from Amazon, and the first one I ordered was damaged in shipping. That night, I filled out the return/exchange form and 2 days later I had a brand new working TV. Amazon arranged return shipping, and the whole process was painless. Now... the TV's picture is quite a bit better than I expected. I didnt even NEED to calibrate to my liking as "out-of-the-box" settings were perfect. The sound is normal for LCDs of this size, and you should find it more than adequate. At this price, this TV is a steal. I love it! I would recommend to anybody.
(March 19, 2010)

Great Picture and Good Value

We've had this TV LG 32LH30 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, Gloss Black for about 4 weeks and are very happy with it. It is in our bedroom armoire. We bought it when it was offered at a discount price of $380 with no tax and free shipping - a great value for a 32in 1080p TV. The picture quality is great and the TV has a very easy to use Color Adjustment Wizard to fine tune the adjustments. We have a 8-9 year old big box Pioneer Elite 52in 1080i TV that has a very good HD picture, but the LG 32in is much sharper and brighter. My only complaint is the side viewing angle that washes out at about 20 degrees. Overall we are very pleased with the picture quality and value of the TV.
(March 18, 2010)

Dishonest practices by LG NO longer an s-ips panel using cheaper tawian and chinease panels

After seeing all the raving reviews i was disappointed with the picture quality even after 3 or so hours of tweaking i could not get picture quality better then my TN panel 24" monitor. I thought i just hadn't calibrated it enough and that an S-IPS panel should be capable of more. Then i came across a review here about the panel being switched so i took out my flashlight and looked at the back vents sure enough it had a sticker that said AUO it was using a cheap Taiwan AUO panel with inferior picture quality not S-ISP. Apparently the newer models are using even cheaper Chinese made panel with even worse picture quality.

So all those great reviews you see are of the old superior quality S-IPS panel type and do not apply to if you bought it now. What really gets me is the dishonesty of LG to continue to advertise all there lcd as using S-IPS panels when this is clearly not the case one of the main seeling points for me was the S-IPS panel I don't believe I'm gonna buy another lg product ever again after this.

This is a wonderful TV. I purchased it during the Deal of the Day but would have paid full price. The picture quality is great and set-up only took 5 minutes.

LG 32" 1080p

I bought this HD TV from Amazon for $380, a great value. The picture is tremendous for color, resolution, brightness, etc. The size is perfect for our bedroom. The remote is simple and intuitive. The features do not include channel labels, which would be helpful since I look at HD tv on the QAM tuner and not on a cable box. I use the favorites list to help remember that CBS is 53-3, NBC is 51-1, etc. The TV set has lots of various inputs to accept a variety of devices. I highly recommend the set.
(March 23, 2010)

Picture zoom ?

This set provides a great picture, and pricing from Amazon was superior to others. The sound levels seem to be very low, even in a small room. The problem I have is with not having direct access to the picture zoom functions like my Toshiba and Sony LCD sets, spoiled I guess. Additionally, the zoom selections provide a picture that is either too large or too small, still very good, just not sized to fill the screen.
(March 23, 2010)

D.'s Review

Picture Quality:
Head-on picture is beautiful, but, unless you are directly in
front of the screen, entire screen is "Washed Out". Bright
sunshine also washes out picture... even Head-on.

Ease of Use:
Unless I haven't figured it out yet (and, admittedly, I have
not yet tried too hard) switching from TV to AV (DVD Recorder/
Player) is not intuitive. Having to actually change Input before
you can see recorded video... rather than simply hit Play... is
annoying.

Sound: Good / Beautiful to Look at: Yes.

Overjoyed

I am so happy with this TV, it met or beat my expectations in every category. Beautiful picture and a remote control that is very easy to use and understand. And with the great price I got at Amazon.com it was the perfect purchase after months of shopping around. I've had it several weeks now and I am still very satisfied.

worked great right out of the box, no fooling around.

Smashing Tele

After buying a Wii, and trying to hook it up to our old tele (not enough holes) it was decided a new tele must here. Next day this LG appeared as the deal of the day. Timing being what it is, I felt this was a good omen. Read the comments, sent the site to my son, feedback was all positive! Ordered the tele, it arrived in 5 days, brilliant. Hook up was a breeze, a real easy peasy. Changing from television to Wii games, 1 click. Picture quality, couldn't be happier. Very happy with the entire purchase, start to finish. Thanks
(March 23, 2010)

Great TV

This TV is great, so clear, I love it.

The only problem is the remote control, it seems not sensitive enough, sometimes not response quickly. If LG could improve that, it will be perfect!
(March 23, 2010)

Can beat this for the price

32 inches seems to be the magic size at which you can start to see the difference in quality between 720p and 1080p. But that should only matter if you have a 1080p signal (Blueray, PS3, etc).

This tv is priced the same (or less) than many 720p TVs of the same size. In all honesty, I could not tell the difference between the picture quality of this TV and the one it replaced (the 32LH20), but I got it for about $40 cheaper!

At first, I thought the picture quality of this set was actually worse. But then I adjusted the picture settings and adjusted my set-top box. This TV has a great picture.

I have yet to try it out with 1080, but I'm sure it'll be amazing... in my humble opinion, LG has among the best quality displays out there for the price.

It also gives me some leverage to convince my wife that we NEED a PS3... lol :)
(March 23, 2010)

Excellent LCD

It is an excellent LCD and it have great features and technology. I think it will be better with an USB port.

(March 23, 2010)

Great price great TV

We snatched this TV up during the Amazon deal of the day for only 379 - at this price this tv was a steal for a 1080p tv (especially with free shipping and no sales tax!). We've hooked it up to our Comcast digital cable, our PC, and our Xbox 360 and the TV performs like a champ. The 1080p and the super high contrast ratio makes for great visuals when HD video comes through. The PC input is really handy as it gives new life to our old desktop by now being able to surf in 32" of glorious resolution. There's plenty HDMI inputs and the composite inputs are good too. My only complaint is that the sound is so-so, but it is adequate. If you really, want good sound, you are probably going to invest in a sound system anyways, so the tv sound isn't really an issue. It's a very good tv and a bargain considering that other brands cost just as much for bargain basement features. Sony's and Samsung's 32 inchers are roughly the same price but only offer 720p at a poorer contrast ratio. If you hope to use this as a part-time computer monitor like me, then the 1080p and high contrast ratio make a big difference.

Overall for the price, features, and quality, I am very happy with this tv.
(March 23, 2010)

Good bargain

other reviews are really useful already, the only thing I want to add is that the plastic chrome casing gets dusty really fast. I don't know why, but the plastic has some crazy static electricity to it that attracts dust, to the point where it's visible in a day or two if you don't wipe it.
(March 24, 2010)

Wrong set, but the price was right

I ordered the 32LH30 on a one-day special which provided 3 HDMI jacks, and I ordered the 3 HDMI cables offered with that set. Instead, Amazon sent me a 32LH30-UA which provides only 2 HDMI jacks, leaving me with a wasted cable. Amazon was completely unresponsive to the concerns I e-mailed.

As to the set, this is my first digital set, and I use it beside my 61" analog set. One big drawback for me is that the set doesn't show closed captioning through the HDMI cable from my new VCR-DVD recorder combo unit, nor does it show the analog display information from that unit. It does display both through composite cables. I called LG with these concerns, but couldn't get past the confused non-technical representative. The owner's manual is on a CD which saves paper but requires me to leave the set to go to my desktop computer in another room.

The set has greater complexity than my analog set but is easy to use, and the picture was fine; picture source is analog and digital cable, not HD. Style and appearance are adequate; all these sets look pretty much alike to me. Despite all this, the price was great. (The last rating category was "Dead" which I took to mean "Deal.")
(March 23, 2010)

Awesome TV for the price among competetion

This is a good Tv when compared to the Panasonic and Samsun of the 32" series model. I have used it for 3 weeks so far and it is awesome so far. I have it in my bedroom on a wall mount and great picture quality and also voice/sound quality. Typically in Samsung and Panasonice the sound is not that good.
(March 23, 2010)

Great TV

The TV arrived quickly and I love the picture and sound. Easy to use.
(March 24, 2010)

Great Price and good picture

The TV looks good when viewing HD stations. The only issue I have is that is does not have a auto adjust for different picture ratios. When I tune to a non HD station showing a film in the 16:9 format it does not fill out to the edges. I have to go in and manual set it.
(March 24, 2010)

Great Value and Quality

We just installed this TV in our lake home. It was truly "plug and play" as they say in the computer industry. My grandsons (12 and 8 years old) unpackaged it, installed the base, plugged it in, ran the auto channel program routine and when we returned it was already tuned in to our favorite channel. How did it know? The picture is excelent providing a vivid high def image. You won't regret this purchase.
(March 26, 2010)

I can't complain

I'm not a technological expert, but my boyfriend is and he said this was a good quality tv. The picture, sound, etc. works well, and it is the best tv I've had thus far.
(March 28, 2010)

Using as Computer Monitor-HDMI

I chose this monitor over all of the rest of the 32 inch 1080 HDTVs primarily because a few reviewers had actually used it as a computer monitor and had reported no artifacts in the display of text and computer graphics that can happen due to mismatch of the dpi or computer text and HDTV for certain number of columns of text characters. Note that most other purchasers of Sony, Panasonic, Samsung and Toshiba had never used it for computer hookups!!!

In general the 32 inch LG comes off just great in the display of my HP laptop that has direct HDMI A/V. But for a complete review let me just state a few facts/notes for anyone contemplating a similar usage
- VGA resolution is limited on most all HDTVs and not useful, something like 1200x800 or so
- On HDMI/HDTV you can "get" up to 1980x1080 or so but there is a 3/4 inch blank spot around the screen and it does not appear natural, I operate at a more natural 1600x1200 that makes the windows larger but the entire screen is used and most programs esp browsers let you re-size the resolution to fit any size window if you can still read em
- At this resolution you can easily view/edit 2 docs side by side and not get eye strain, in fact you can usually read the screen from up to 3 feet away or more so no more hunching of the back. You also can place the screen far back on ur desk and actually get more space than trying to use 2 19-21 inch monitors side by side. Also the extra room at the top of the screen can be used to see 1 or 2 partial screens activity that I use for email and stock watch, something that 2 side by sides of smaller monitors cannot do
- Audio on monitor - Audio over HDMI worked perfectly at the start but my Vista laptop got confused as to the default and setups (too many audio control screens) and accasionally would not turn on audio automatically when I disconnected, so after wrestling with it I make the laptop speaker the default all the time and use powered speakers from the connector, though the units HDMI audio sounds just great to me esp when compared to my external powered system.
- Brightness - Just great, truly impressed by color and contrast also.
- Power Control - HDMI///It does not power on from laptop when its completely in standby like VGA, I have to switch it back on, might be some adjustment I can make on either/both sides. It does respond in partial standby just fine. Reoslution recognition and memory seems just fine and no mixup after many connects/disconnects.
- Power/Heat - Haven't measured its power usage but so far its not generating much heat so cannot complain. The laptop seems to run hotter with the higher resolution though.

In general its a great choice and former eye strain and fatigue are gone, back feels better and If I want I can look at stuff from 3-5 feet away and just sit back!! Next time I might try to stuff a 37 incher on the desk and see if I get more windows in view!

Hope this helps anyone out there!

Great Flat Panel 1080p LCD TV For The Price

Bought this 32" LG TV for the benefit of being an IPS panel, for its obvious adjustability and being a 1080p. Another advantage this 1080p TV is very easy to calibrate and the picture wizard is exceptionally accommodating. The menu options are numerous as is the elegance of the LH40. The sound quality on this LG LH40 is in my opinion "enhanced quality" compared to other sets costing twice the amount. The paleness of whites is very good, colors don't wash out and mid-tones are remarkably crisp and clear; black levels are deep and vibrant even at different angles, unusual for a LCD screen. Another advantage I noticed; no dead pixels on my LH40 which is remarkable for a TV in this price range. The swivel stand that comes with the TV does more than other sets costing four times the price, another nice feature from LG. I'm not a committed cinema/video enthusiast but I cannot foresee this TV will not fulfill most viewers who want a low priced midsized flat screen 1080p high definition TV. In my opinion this is the best 1080p flat screen TV you could buy for the money, paid $379.00 with free shipping from Amazon. The picture quality on this LG is absolutely extraordinary and incredibly easy to use and set up; I recommend the LG LH40 1080p flat screen TV to all.

Full Family Room!

I bought this TV for the family room slash toy room.
The sound and picture are wonderful. Once again I am very happy with an LG product. The grandparents can use and readily see the remote buttons. The children are tickled with the clarity and larger screen with bright colors. Disney, NICk and The Weather Channel have never looked so good.

Good TV

Very easy to set up. Overall picture is very good and the sound is good for the room we have it in(medium sized living room). A good amount of features that are easy to use and to get to. Great for gaming too

Okay, here you go, long story but true. We bought a LG, 120 Hz, 1080p tv for the Xbox gaming and it has a massive delay. Absolutely could not play Guitar Hero or Rock band and got crushed in Call of Duty. We tried everything, calibrated the Xbox, calibrated the games, brought a friends Xbox over, changed cords, called LG directly, searched the internet...no luck. Hooked it up to a little travel TV we had, no delay. We called Best Buy, where we bought the TV...good folks by the way. And told them the problem. They didn't believe us, so we brought the TV, the Xbox and the drum set into the store and showed them. The were blown away. We asked if we could move from TV to TV to try and find one without a delay. Delays were everywhere except this TV and a Samsung. Went to buy this TV and it was out of stock. So, had to turn in the old one and buy this one. If you'll notice this one 60 HZ vice 120 HZ and that is the only thing we could see was different. Anyway, this TV is great.

Excellent TV at a great price

I bought this TV on sale about a month or so ago and even though I picked ground shipping it was at my door next morning. I got this for the bedroom and I have this TV plugged in to my PS3 and my PC and i get excellent quality with both. Very happy with my purchase!!!

Great Television. First-timers should start here for sure!

This unit is the second unit from LG I have owned. I have this unit and a 37" model of the same family of units. It's a great all-around unit. Sound is surprisingly louder than I thought it would be. Simply blows away any monitor with a similar speaker setup. HD quality is solid. Games look gorgeous, Blu-rays look and sound incredible. If you're a first time HD buyer, this unit is what you'd be after to get your feet wet. While it does lack features many latest & greatest models have(Streaming, 3-D, using media from a USB Thumbdrive, etc.) it doesn't need those if all you're interested in is a nice picture and a great price point. I paid less than the $500-ish asked, so if you're paying this much or more, this may be priced out of its target market.

Menu selection can be a bit confusing but once you get a feel for it, you can browse things in a flash within the menu system. A better tag system would have been nice for the various inputs. I'd love to label composite as my "Wii" connection, HDMI1 for Xbox 360, and HDMI2 for PS3, but they DO manage comparable labels to make it easy enough to identify each specific unit hooked-in.(PS3 is currently Blu-Ray, 360 is PC since I use the VGA cable, and Wii is just tagged Game)

If you can snag this in the sub $450 range, jump post-haste.

Good Value

Overall I am pleased with this selection. Picture and sound are both good. Set up was very easy. Only down side is that audio output is limited to a single optical connection, which can make hookup to external sound system a problem.

LG 32 I like it

It is a very good tv/monitor for my small space. It boots fast and controls are rational.

Great lcd to use as computer/gaming monitor

This is my second hdtv and so far so good. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that some of the higher end lcd's have, but for the price it is an excellent tv. I see the price has gone up on the tv as well since I purchased it, probably due to the fact its being sold by target now. Any event... like I said its a great tv. I'm using it almost exclusively as a computer monitor and the resolution via the hdmi or dvi is superb. Very bright and easy to see in a sunlit room. I really enjoy the different AV modes the tv has as well. While I still kind of wish I would have went with a tv with a bit higher refresh rate because I do use it for gaming as well. Although I really only get the slightest of motion blur when using it with my Xbox 360, its hardly noticeable unlike some of the other reviews on this say. Sure if you go from a 240hz or 120hz of course your going to notice a bit of motion blur, its a no brainer. But people love to complain and their opinions make the world go round...

I was most impressed by the sound on this tv as well. I don't know what LG is doing with their speakers but hopefully they keep it up. The trim on the tv is pretty nice as well. Not as nice as Samsung's touch of color panels, but its sweet.

Great tv, great as a computer monitor, great for gaming, great for watching hockey... Go pens... philly stinks.

GREAT BUY

I was a little nervous about buying a television online. Buying a visual medium without actually seeing it could give you pause. From the very beginning My fears were put to rest. First of all, amazingly, I recieved the set the next day after ordering it. I've never gotten anything from Amazon that fast. It came, and was very easy to set up, and the picture was gorgeous. I had read some of the other reviews which talked about sound quality. That has not been an issue with me. Both the sound and picuture are very good. I do notice a variation in sound going from different mediums, tivo, dvd etc. but with the price, this tv can't be beat. Especially since for some reason, most 32 inch sets are now only 720, and this is 1080p.

Great TV!

I have had no problems in the month I have had this TV! It came from Amazon a few days before I expected it, it only took 3 days on regular shipping! I see no issues with the TV except that the glossy black finish glares. The sound is much better than most flat screens when in clear-voice mode!

great television

Great tv, It is a very good picture for the price. Only negative is the sound quaility, I have to turn it up very loud to hear. If you are adding a surround system it won't be a problem. I highly recommend.

LG32in TV

I really like this Tv easy to set up easy to understand instructions. Has good sound and color. And unlike the cheaper Tvs you can get parts if needed which hopefully never will. All over good TV good value.

So far pretty great

This is my first HDTV. I got it on sale from Amazon after considering a number of options and I am pretty happy with it. I especially like the fact that the screen can turn easily, so I can watch it from different parts of the room.
I am not a videomaniac, but the picture quality is great. This tv is definitely a good deal.

Great TV for Bedrooms.

This would be perfect for small living room or bedroom. This unit fit perfectly on my bedroom. My father was so impressed he wanted one so I bought another one for his birthday.

Yes.

It was that good in price/value wise, I just had to buy another one.

Nice TV with a lot of interfaces

I bought two of these and love them. I've had no problems with the TV. The sound was kinda low but I found a setting on the cable box that made a huge different in the clarity. Besides the picture the nice thing about this TV is all the interfaces it comes with to connect all your accessories. Was thinking about buying a third one to replace the last old TV in the house. LG makes a good product.

Best bang for your buck

The picture is crisp and bold, the sound is a definite improvement over my old LCD TV, stylish with a lot of inputs and features, and it's a steal under $500.

LG 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV

This thing definitely delivers it's bang for your buck. I was impressed with what I received and what I paid for such an excellent television. The remote was easy to navigate for first time set-up, the t.v will tell you which inputs are plugged in and ready, you won't have to cycle through 12 inputs to be able to find which one you plugged in. I recently purchased an HD Receiver to go with the t.v, I have to say I am blown away by the picture and sound quality. I give this t.v a 5/5, a great purchase and well worth it.

Great TV For A Great Price

I am technically challenged. Setting up this TV was shockingly easy.
I have to say, I really don't know much about electronics but I did research.
I wanted a good product and did not need all the bells and whistles.
This 1080 LG has good picture, sound and I could connect my computer to it.
I have a small space so the 32" was perfect. Price was perfect too.
(May 02, 2010)

Perfect

I'm using this as a PC monitor / slash bedroom tv.

For a bedroom tv watching cable the sound works amazingly well. My PC has it's own 7.1 speaker system, for blue ray, games, music etc. I like this tv alot.

Plus, can't beat the price.

LOVED IT! - which i could get another one for my daughter

the tv arrived on time. it's big & clear with no issues/problem. @ first my boyfriend taught it was pretty big but in the end, he was happy with the tv. can't beat a 32 inch 1080p for less than $400. i even recommended it to my sister coz' she said that all the tv's she saw was over $500. so for the price i paid for - it's definitely a steal! check it out yourself!

Great LCD TV at a Great Price!

I am very happy with this television. After setting it up properly, the picture is excellent. I used the video settings found here in the reviews and on [...]. I compared this TV to other models and the picture was as good or better than any of the other manufacturers. We really wanted a larger screen, but that would have meant a new TV stand, stereo stand, speaker stands. This one fits perfect.

The price is great at $400-450. However, the new one is quite a bit higher priced. The only thing that I do not like is the lack of audio out RCA jacks for my older stereo. I am able to work around this lack of jacks by using the audio jacks on my cable/DVR box.

I have read complaints regarding the sound quality, but it seems pretty good to me.

Great TV

I purchased this TV a few months ago and it is the best set in my house. We have 2 other flat panel LCD televisions but this has the best picture. I like that it has an energy saving feature, however we rarely use it since it does make the picture quite faint. The remote is easy to use and we didn't have any issues with set up.

Great TV - Purchased Feb.19th, 2010

I don't know what others are thinking about this TV. I purchased this on the advice of my son-in-law who works in the video business and he recommended this TV to me. I have mine hooked up to HD and has the best picture I've seen. I have a 57" DLP and it is no comparison to this one. Picture perfect. Sound quality perfect. Easy to set up. Great to watch. Dont watch the DLP(which is HD also) much at all anymore. This is great to watch live shows like NASCAR, Football and anything else live. Don't get me wrong, every show is picture perfect. Son-in-law has 50" LG LCD and his is magnificent. I also have an LG cell phone and no problems with any of them. Would highly recommend any of these products I've mentioned.

Nice TV, really

This tv is very nice. I like everything about it: sleek design, great sound, terrific picture. The remote is very well done too. It is easy to use, has great menu and it complements our room's appearance. Movies and TV news look spectacular on it.

Exceded my Expectations

This tv is so great--I bought it in used condition, and I was not expecting much, but wow! it's so great! Great picture quality, excellent sound quality...Everything I was hoping for! I definitely recommend this product.

Good TV For The Price

I will start out by saying that I use this TV as a computer monitor, so my experiences are different from others.

I normally sit about 2 feet from the TV, as it is situated on my desk behind my keyboard and MIDI keyboard. It's works great so far; no dead pixels and great contrast and color. The only downsides come from me using it as a monitor: it does not auto power up and down with my computer, which means I have to manually turn it on and off. Otherwise, the screen real estate and picture quality are great.

I can easily display 2 windows side-by-side. I prefer it over using 2 monitors because it takes less power and there is no gap in the middle. Some may argue that it is only 1920 pixels wide. However, because the screen is so large, the text can be set smaller and is just as easy to see, giving the same sense of real estate.

If you can find this TV on sale, I say buy it with no hesitation.
