Reviews of LG 22LH20 from Amazon.com
Good purchase
Decent tv for the price, the settings to adjust color and picture aren't difficult to use but difficult to get the picture I desire. The size is okay for an average size bedroom (12 X 12) but if I had it to do over I probably would choose a 26 inch or larger.

Great Bedroom/kitchen TV
This is a great little hdtv for any bedroom or kitchen for its size!
I was however, a little worried about the sound quality from other reviews I had read about this particuar model. After having it for a week I have found these bad reviews of the sound quality to be unfounded. The sound quality is excellent and plenty loud enough for a smaller room. The #1 feature of this set is the quality of the picture in brightly lit rooms. I have not seen another flat screen that handles light reflection as well as LG's. I am considering buying a second one to use for my desktop computer as it has a RGB input as well!!!

Great Features, Great Picture, Great Price
For those of you who want a bright, sharp HDTV packed with useful features for the bedroom, this is your set! I have used my television as an alarm clock since my college days in the 1970's (that is not a typo!) and this television has that feature. You can wake to your favorite morning news show. Another feature that i didn't expect and love, is touted as a "Green" feature. For all of us insomniacs out there, if you can't sleep, and you like the "noise" of the tv, but don't want the whole room lit up, this television has a feature that allows you to listen to the television but shut the picture. I was surprised and thrilled when I discovered this. Of course there is a sleep timer, different picture settings etc. The audio, unfortunately, leaves something to be desired. But that is the only negative I find, and it is way overshadowed by the great features of this television. I highly recommend it.

Great picture, average sound
I am amazed at the quality of the picture provided by this TV. It is excellent. One of the reviews I read said the sound was middling and that is true. Music is tinny but dialogue is clear. I am pleased with this TV and would recommend it to anyone who wants a great picture and isn't too picky about the sound quality.

Simple Quality for Price
This is my first flat screen TV buying experience. I'm very pleased with this product. I was a little nervous about buying a LCD flat screen online without seeing it first because the picture qualities vary so greatly between brands. I received the TV today and the picture is excellent, as is the audio. It is also very light, around 10 lbs. Setup was fairly simple. I say fairly because I am not completely sure the TV is correctly on it's stand, but it is fully functional.. lol. The component (dish, dvd) connections were easily completed, but there is only one AV jack. The audio and visual settings are a little complex. I wandered through it somewhat easily. I felt as though the detailing of the product's visual setup in the product description was a little misleading. I thought from what I read that during the picture set up the user would be guided through a series of screens split in two with different settings on either side, and then the user would choose between the two until the setup process was complete. The actual setup requires the adjusting of levels of sharpness, color, etc. It's not a deal breaker. The TV is awesome.

Lots of Features, nice deal
Ordered this to mount on my bedroom wall. Won't work with a low-profile mount because the cables stick straight out the back, but will work with other mounts. Features are great:
Wake-up alarm
TV-sound only with no picture
lot of extras
However, picture looks a little dark when you're looking at it from a little below it's straight-looking plane of view. So, make sure to mount right in front of you or angle it. Otherwise, it's great. It's only 21.6" and not a full 22". I saw it at Best8uy for $30 more, so you get a deal here.

Fantastic LCD HDTV
The LG 22LH20 22-Inch 720p LCD HDTV is great. I have it in my small bedroom and the size is perfect. I don't think I would go any larger. The setup was easy. I have a coaxial cable connecting from the outside to this TV. All I had to do was automatically scan for channels and I was able to pick up well over a hundred so that tells you how good the digital tuner is on the 22LH20.
Positives:
- Elegant design
- Easy setup
- Strong digital ATSC and QAM tuners
- Beautiful, crisp, and clear picture
- Pretty good black levels, although I wasn't expecting much with an 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Even so, the picture is amazingly sharp.
- 5ms response time. You don't see many response times like that on TVs this size.
- Good amount of picture settings and adjustment options
- Great sound. I see several people on various sites complaining about the sound. Why? The sound is extremely clear and loud. I have my TV's volume at 10 and that's more than sufficient for me. The highest this TV goes up to is 100. What I would suggest to everyone is to follow these steps to get great sound: MENU > AUDIO > Clear Voice II: ON > Level: 6(Max.) > Sound Mode: Standard(User) > Treble: 100 > Bass: 100
- The energy saving features. Yes, this TV has a sleep timer where you can set it to turn off at a set number of minutes. However, you can go a step further by setting the TV to turn on and off at a specific times. For example, I have my TV set to go off Sun.-Sat. at 12am. You can also set it to turn on on particular days of the week, a specific time, input, channel and volume level.
The Energy Saving feature also can dim the brightness of the TV or turn the screen completely off so that all you hear is the sound of the TV. Great feature especially if you are one of those people who needs the sound of the TV to go to sleep. This can be accomplished without you wasting energy because the screen is on and you don't have to worry about the light of the TV distracting you.
Negatives
- Only 1 HDMI port
- Some backlight bleed at at the top and bottom of the screen. Only noticeable, somewhat, in dark scenes and more noticeable when the picture is completely black.
- Viewing angle isn't the greatest. The picture color washes out a bit from extreme side angle views but not enough for it to be unwatchable like I've seen on other HDTVs of this size.
- The screen is not a exactly 22in. but about a half inch less than that. I know this is common with LCDs but it's annoying nonetheless.
The LG 22LH20 is my second LG HDTV and like my other one I'm very please with it. LG doesn't get it's due because of the brand being eclipsed by brands such as Sony, Samsung and others. But it seems like no matter what I buy from this company, I'm rarely if ever disappointed. The LG 22LH20 is no exception. This is a wonderful little TV for small bedrooms and dorm rooms. I highly recommend it.

Exce;;ent Value
This is an excellent HDTV. Great picture, easy set up. If I have any complaint, it is that the speakers are small, and so the sound is a little weak. I am not sure if any flat screen TV of this size would accommodate louder speakers, and this is a minor gripe really. We have the unit mounted on the wall about 10 feet from our bed, and the picture is great and the sound adequate except for quiet segments. I may get add on speakers.
All in all a great value and I love the quality of the picture -- all colors are vivid and clear. We use the TV for on air broadcast signal only (no cable).

Love MY 22in HDTV Best Money I Ever Spent. Picture Is Great Great Sound. Looks Great In My Kitchen. Plan On Buying Another One For BedRoom
(November 02, 2009)
Good for the value.
This is a welcome addition to my bedroom, has ample inputs for my sattelite reciever, DVD Player, and even a computer. Simple to set up, pretty much programmed itself (it takes about 15 to scan all channels and signal types)and looks great. The hidden speakers are quite cool because they do not require extended case size to accomidate them. Obviously this does not have booming bass or anything like that, but is sounds good. The energy settings allow for dimming the screen, which is handy in a dark room. The only think I wish it did was display 2 inputs at once, for example show the computer and the TV input at the same time. But I am frugal and this does not detract from my enjoyment of this TV.

LG
Nice lcd, easy to use and looks nice. But the picture quality is not that great. My Panasonic is much better.

Great Picture; Terrible Sound
This looks like a great compact TV until you listen to it and try to connect it to headphones or a stereo system -- Just not possible. No audio output so if you don't like the sound, or you want to put it in a bedroom and not disturb your partner... you're out of luck. My smaller and cheaper TVs have an audio output that you can plug in a set of headphones or connect to a stereo.. So unless you LOVE the sound, better look at other options.

Product meets all our needs in all categories...
This, our first flat screen TV, was purchased as a gift. It arrived promptly, was well packed, and in perfect condition. Set up was very easy and the performance is excellent.

Great Quality, Great Price
The LG 22-inch HDTV is ideal for the bedroom or study. Easy to handle at 15 pounds, it requires no assembly and is up and running (cable) in 5 minutes. The picture is razor sharp and brilliant, the sound quality good, though volume limited, the remote convenient. The price is spectacular! I could not be more pleased.

Picture Okay, Sound Iffy
Bought this TV for the kitchen, it's the perfect size. Product arrived promptly and well-packaged. Setup was easy, but I didn't find the auto picture adjustment that helpful or accurate. Manual picture controls were easy enough to use. Picture is sharp and color saturation is natural looking. I'm a bit disappointed by the fall-off in contrast when viewed from even a modest angle, but I can live with that.
I'd read reviews of the audio limitations of this set, and was willing to accept them as I have a micro-bookshelf receiver and speakers that I intended to use with the set's audio output jacks. That didn't turn out to be possible. All of the specifications I read for this set specified that it had both analog and digital audio outputs. That spec. was one of the set's selling points for me. Unless, they're well disguised, though, they just don't exist. So buyers beware on this. The lack of external audio output is the main reason I give this set 4 stars instead of 5. (Note: about the only workaround I've found for the audio is to plug the audio output from a satellite or cable modem directly into the external amplifier. The downside to that is that it takes 2 remotes to run the set. One devoted solely to volume control. I'm not wonky enough to make the satellite remote control the bookshelf receiver and the TV.)
